The Master League adventures thread

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Also Professor Nutmeg, about the sudden inclusion of a new league, (which i'm not sure Konami will put into this version of the game), I think i'm still going to stick with Napoli.

If they do add extra leagues to the Master League, I hope they add a 2nd Division to each of the full leagues in the game and let you customize the Master League so you've got a proper D1 and D2.

Anybody read about that extensive Edit Mode, where POM hinted that you can edit a lot of things in the game?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

If I magically come into a bit of money, I will playing the next PES on the PS3. If not, I will be stuck on the PC. Mind you I'd probably get the PC version eitherway just for the patching.

Won't decide on a team until we know for sure who will be in the game. But Napoli is an excellent choice and one that I was considering! :D
haha, I beat you to it mate. ;)

Do you think your PC will cope with the power of the new game?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hello, guys. Not been to this thread for quite a long time. After a period of about 2 month I've decided to come back to playing PES 6 ML of course.

I used create-a-team option for master league and decided to choose Sunderland as they have some good kits for kitserver and I've got there stadium too. At the very beginning my squad was average as there weren't any really good players except for maybe Tobias Linderoth who is a captain and my top midfielder at the same time. And probably Curtis Davies who is a young and tough central back with really good heading skills and balance and decent positioning and speed. Others are very average players who've played in the EPL at some point, but were not able to prove their level and now play for the Championship sides.

Here's my current squad list at the beggining of season two:
1. Ivarov - default ml keeper. 31 y.o.
2. Teddy Lucic - who was once a very solid Swedish int'l sb/cb, but is long past his prime now. 34 y.o.
3. Curtis Davies - young and promising. 24 y.o.
4. Ian Harte - a perfect left-foot, but everything else is just well...crap. He takes free-kicks and corners from the right. 30 y.o.
5. Damien Johnson - Fantastic team-player, fast, good both at defence and attack, but is crap at crossing and is very average at other things at most! 28 y.o.
6. Hayden Mullins - came on a free transfer from West Ham, a decent dmf. 28 y.o.
7. Jason Koumas - smf with good crossing and dribbling, but lacks stamina and is nothing special really. I'm looking forward to getting a better smf when I've got enough money or if i can find any decent free agent. 28 y.o.
8. Tobias Linderoth - captain and leader of the team! 28 y.o.
9. Clinton Morrison - Irish int'l striker who's fast and has average finishing and dribbling skills. 28 y.o.
10. Kim Nam Il - Korean int'l dmf, bought him for something like $4 mln and am really dissapointed as he's shown nothing except for his serious lack of speed. 30 y.o.
11. Grzegorz Rasiak - tall striker, good in the air but nothing special on the ground. 28 y.o.
13. Zamenhof - another default ml keeper.
16. Stephen Kelly - right back who's played a couple of games for me, but didn't show nothing. 24 y.o.
17. Sotiris Kyrgiakos - 198 cm ex-Rangers and Greece NT cb without any special skills, just a backup for Moore. 28 y.o.
18. Jonathan Douglas - very mediocre dmf. Played only a couple of games as a sub. 25 y.o.
19. Craig Moore - Aussies int'l and ex-Newcastle cb who's been brought into my team on free transfer to strengthen defensive ranks. Lacks speed, but is good enough for 2-d division level with his decent positioning and heading abilities. 31 y.o.
21. Stephen Elliot -Fast and agile Irish striker he's a promising player who mostly starts as a sub. 23 y.o.
22. Robert Earnshaw - Fast and agile, nothing more than a back-up player. 26 y.o.
23. John O'Brien - left sb/smf USA NT member ex-Ajax player who's got some good dribbling skills and is quite a decent player if not his chronic injuries problem. Played only half games last season for me, being a regular when he's fit. 30 y.o.
25. David Vaughan - Welsh int'l left smf great dribbling, but nothing else really. 24 y.o.

Transfers:
Gary Doherty >>>> released
Lee Hendrie >>>> released
Kim Nam Il <<<< $4 mln
Craig Moore <<<< free
Hayden Mullins <<<< free

My First season was a huge disappointment as it was obvious to me that i won't be able to get a promotion to the first div. I was aming to the mid-table place and keeping positive funds balance. How wrong i was, the season was a disaster my team finished last and i was barely able to keep up with player salaries. It was obvious for me that the team needs strengthening both in defence and midfield that's why I've brought Mullins and Moore in during off-season. The first game of the new season looked promising for me 1-0 win over Middlesbrough makes me think this season's gonna be something different than the previous one.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Prof, there are no slots for a PS2 memory card...
However you can use a memory stick with a PS3.
What i did for my new Ml with AZ67: i donwloaded Milanista option file for PS3 put it on a memory stick where you have to create to following folders:

1 PS3 in that folder:
2 Export, in that folder
3 PSV, in that folder
4 the option file.

On the hard disk of your PS3 it ispossible to create a sort of virtual PS1 or PS2 memory card. You create one which you name PES.
Then you put your memory stick in the PS3.
You copy the option file to the virtual PS2 memory card and you can use the new option file...
It's very easy....

now to asnwer Stringer's questions:

1 I will play it on a playstation 3 since i already have one (an advice: wait and buy a PES 2008-PS3 pack...there surely will be one).

2 my first ML???? That depends on the difficulty of the new game. I desperately want to win some sliverware (in PES6 so far only an Italian Cup with Atalanta) and i see myself playing my first ML with Sevilla. Probably my favourite team outside Belgium... Otherwise i will try an bigger challenge. FC Bazel appeals quite a lot to me and since they will be in the game why not??, But of course i really would like to have the complete Jupiler League in the game and then i would certainly play with my real favourite team: FC Brussels.... In short: i'm undecided ....Other newly promoted teams that i like: FC Caen and Genoa...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I'll definitely be getting the next version on PC, mostly because the ease of patching is important to me. I also have a good wireless control pad and can output to my TV, so it's much the same anyway but with the extra convenience.

No idea which team I'm going to be for my first ML. It might be nice to move away from the Spanish and Italian leagues just for a change, though.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks Stan/SB, that answers my questions on the option file front. Bluetooth transfer would indeed be cool. I would have thought PS3s have it?

Stringer, i do hope the ML structure is tweaked for the good. A 16 team Div 1 and an 8 team Div 2 will be a let down. i won't get started on the other stuff that needs addressing in the ML :D

Nutmeg: "We Must Stay Focused"

m-Olympiastadion_2005_390.jpg

With the end of the season only four games away, Professor Nutmeg's Hertha Berlin are concentrating on keeping their place at the top of the Zentral-Ost Liga. Anticipation and expectations amongst the city's fans are running high, as the Berliners currently lie three points ahead of Dutch giants Ajax and five points clear of Bayern Munich, who they face on the final day of the season. Both Ajax and Bayern have dominated the league in recent years, along with PSV Eindhoven making up "the big three." Hertha's presence at the summit, is certainly stirring the pot.

Zentral-Ost Liga Current standings

1 Hertha Berlin 54pts
2 Ajax 51pts
3 Bayern Munich 49pts
4 Hamburg SV 41pts

Hertha Crowned League Champions

Arne Friedrich (L) and Christian Gimenez celebrate their victory

Hertha Berlin have won the 2009 Zentral-Ost Liga title, after defeating a nervous Bayern Munich on the final day. In what was regarded as the most exciting finish to the season in recent years, the closing day couldn't have produced a more fitting climax. Both Munich and Hertha went head to head, in a 'winner takes all' match, while Ajax, facing VfL Wolfsburg, were ready to capitalise on any stalemate in Munich. Events unfolded in favour of the Berliners as 34 year old Argentine striker Christian Gimenez bagged a brace in the 4-0 demolition at the Allianz Arena. Despite the final scoreline, the atmosphere was like that of a cup final, as a sell-out crowd made themselves heard.

In the closing weeks of the season, Hertha's form had begun to dip, as both Bayern and Ajax closed on the Olymiastadion club. The final day saw all three clubs separated by one point, meaning the title good have gone in any three directions at the final whistle. A mouth-watering prospect for any neutral.

In the post match interview, Professor Nutmeg said, "We finally realised our potential and this is a great day for all supporters of Hertha. All our hard work could have been lost in the final 90 minutes of the season, but i made it clear to my players what had to be done."

Hertha will now automatically enter next season's Champions League group stages along with runners-up, Bayern Munich. "We will be looking forward to Europe" added the manager.

Zentral-Ost Liga (final standings)
1 Hertha Berlin 61pts
2 Bayern Munich 58pts
3 Ajax 58pts

Congratulations Prof...what an end of the season...i've only had this once in all those years: also in a sort of Bundesliga (and if i remember well, i had also included Dutch teams).

It's reallu nice if the last match is the decider...

Ajax Swoop For Bastürk

30.11.2006_yildiray.jpg

Bastürk was a key player for Hertha Berlin

Dutch giants Ajax have sealed a €10.1 million deal for Hertha Berlin playmaker Yildiray Bastürk. The Turkish international was arguably one of Hertha's best players in recent seasons and his departure will come as a shock to the Olympiastadion faithful.

Ajax, whose team-ranking is higher than Berlin's, have begun rebuilding their squad, as they set their sights on next season's title challenge. It's likely Argentine midfielder Matias Emilio Delgado will now fill Bastürk's shoes as the link between the midfield and attack. The ex-Besiktas player's appearances had been largely kept to a minimum, due to Bastürk's stunning form last season.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks gerd/nerf. It was a real slog at the end. I was beginning to think the com was going to ruin it all for me. My closing games were very, shall we just say, "awkward."

Finally got a D1 league title in PES6 though. :)

I shall wear my medal with pride ;)

Bring on Europe!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Going of the topic a bit...

I've been spending the past few days reading the PES4 ML Thread. :D

It's quite entertaining (and amusing) reading some of the old post you guys made on that thread. I enjoy reading some of the old clubs you guys used and the way you told your reports/stories, sometimes it's as if you playing another game is being played.

I'm currently on page 10 now, looking forward to see who Professor Nutmegs brings into his Cagliari squad after his first season. ;)

That was the Holy Grail SB. I lifted the CL trophy with that lot. This has me thinking...

Vintage Master League Posts Revisited

PES4: Cagliari, Professor Nutmeg 25/01/05

WEFA Champions League Result: Cagliari 3 - 0 Real Madrid

Against all odds, the Sardinian outfit made it all the way to the WEFA CL Final. Many critics had written off the minnows, but they didn't count on this fighting display.
De Kuip hosted the final before a sell out crowd. Uruguyian midfielder Liguera was awarded man of the match with 2 goals either side of Bianchi's 2nd half strike. Madrid showed little sign of getting into gear. Indeed, Ronaldo was denied a penalty call when he went down under a challenge in the box, but the german referee signalled "play-on." Casillas was furious with his defence as Cagliari's only attempts on goal, materialized into goals. Defender Cesare Natali added: We're over the moon. Never did we think we would take it this far, and against the mighty Real Madrid...We all know that the Professor is leaving Cagliari at the end of this season, and he can do that, knowing he is a European Champion."

Martin Liguera was cool.

You see, i used to be good. "I coulda been a contender!"

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

HAHAHAHAH! Nice one Professor Nutmeg.

But you did spoil it for me, because i never remembered you won the CL with Cagliari. :) But never mind.

Some of the old post looks bland without the pictures you guys posted up, but still a good read.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

does anyone where i can get master league player stats for WE7

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Update AZ67 ML:

With 5 matches to go it seems 4 or 5 teams still can win the division 1 title

1 PSV 49
2 Ajax 49
3 Porto 49
4 AZ67 45
5 CSKA Moskva 43
6 Benfica 39
7 Sporting Lisboa
8 Dynamo Kiev
9 Celtic Glasgow
10 Olympiakos
11 Feyenoord
12 Anderlecht
13 Club brugge
14 Rosenborg
15 Kobenhavn
16 Rangers

It looked as Porto would win it easily but they lost their 3 last matches.
AZ67 is the outstanding team at the moment. Their 5-0 win against Porto permitted Ajax and PSV to join Porto at the top of the table.

Next match is AZ67- Ajax. AZ have a revenge to take because they lost 2-0 in Amsterdam.

AZ67 standard team:

GK Waterman
CB: Donk
CB Jaliens
LB: De Cler (Opdam)
RB: Steinsson (De Roover)
DMF: Mendez da Silva (De Zeeuw)
LMF: Schaars (Molhoek)
RMF: Jenner (Arveladze)
AMF: Martens (Boukhari)
CF: Koevermans
CF: Dembélé (Lens)

Sometimes i play 4-3-3: with two DMF (Vormer and De Zeeuw) and Martens as AMF.
Behind : Jenner- Dembélé and Koevermans.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Heya, on the PSP version of PES6 in the instructions it says that it is possible to create an original team in the master league, however it does not give me the option to do this in the Master League menus, just 'Match Mode Squads' and 'Master League Squads' (or something to that effect). Can anyone give me some help?

Any and all help appreciated.

Thanks.

PES 2008 ML

Having read all the blurb about the ML in PES2008, about the fans and cut scnenes etc, i can't help but think Nokami have perhaps been influenced by the Master League stories on PES forums, such as the ones from here, which originated a good few years back.
It's a nice touch and i'm sure i'll enjoy it to begin with, but i'm sure i'll also sigh once faced with the same old tired ML format (d1, d2, d1 cup, d2 cup etc...). It's this i'd rather they 'improve/upgrade.' When will we get that single domestic cup which involves both divisions!?

On another note, i've narrowed down my choice of teams to 3 for my first PES2008 ML :) I have meanwhile been using an updated OF, which has all the newly promoted clubs and kits for all teams. It also has a few stat tweaks.

Gerd, i had some 'Palm' beer the other day, very nice

Good you liked the Palm Prof (Palm is keeping you calm...an advertisement slogan over here).

Just back from a nice holiday in France and for some reason i have fallen in love with Valenciennes...strong contenders for my first ML in PES2008...

I'm off continuing my AZ ML...

PS do you have alink to that option file and is there a PS3
version???

:mryellow: ...like the slogan

I've actually just come back from a short holiday in Stockholm, myself. Fantastic weather and amazingly beautiful women everywhere

OFs, well you can take your pic from the PES6 area (find one that suits you).
Or, the one i downloaded and have since tweaked a bit more with a few more transfers etc is Neoseeker's 3.6 .

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks Prof...

Just lost the domestic Cup Final with AZ67. 2-0 against a totally outplayed Feyenoord...they had 2 shots on goal...

AZ can still win the league. They are one of 4 teams who still can.
They are five points after leaders PSV who have three points on Ajax and 4on Porto...

All in all the AZ squad is not large enough at the moment...
At the next transfer window, i will buy a couple of players (Medunjanin who irl is again with AZ67 and who i liked immensely on PES)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

AZ67 ends third in a 3 horse race...

AZ67 did nut succeed in winning the championship in the international division 1.
With two matches to go PSV had a lead of 3 points on Ajax, 4 points on Porto and 5 points on AZ.
AZ was the only club of the that succeded to win the first of those matches: a 3-0 win against Rangers.
Porto, Ajax and PSV lost their last matches.
With one match to go, Porto was out of the race, but the 3 Dutch could still become champion.
PSV still had the lead with two points on AZ and 3 on Ajax.

Last match day:

PSV - Kobenhavn
Ajax - Feyenoord
Olympiakos - AZ67.

After 45 minutes:

PSV - Kobenhavn 0-0
Ajax - Feyenoord 1-1
Olympiakos - AZ67 0-0

Castillo opened the score for Olympiakos in the 53th minute.
Dembélé equalised in the 62th minute.
AZ attacked relentlessny but could not score a second.

After 90 minutes:
PSV-Kobenhavn 0-0
Ajax - Feyenoord 2-1
Olympiakos - AZ67 1-1

1 PSV
2 Ajax
3 AZ67

15 Rosenborg
16 Rangers

Promotion for Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

Awards:

Best player: Wason Renteria (Porto)

Top scorer: Koevermans (AZ67) 16 goals

Best assister: Davids (Ajax) 7 assists.

Hi Professor Nutmeg,

I’ve currently been playing JLWE2007CC, which is a game you probably already know about through the Winning Eleven section on this forum.

Well, I’ve been playing a Master League with RC Lens on the game, and it seems to me that Konami are capable of delivering a realistic football career mode structure.

Let me explain (with some added pictures). When your starting a new game you get three different option of a team you want to play as (>click<). You choose the team you want to utilize (>click<). Then you get to choose one of three different partners in the league (>click<). One is a custom league, where you can create your own league with 20 teams in D1 and 13 in D2. There is a one option (a red logo) which I can’t access, not sure why. Euro League is the one of the three options which I choose.

After this you choose a league type (>click<), which is like choosing the format of the league you want to play in. I choose French League (Ligue 1).

When I chose these options the structure of the league is very realistic. It’s like playing the normal League Mode, except it’s in the Master League. So you have all the league rules, cumulative cautions and red card bans, realistically in the Master League, depending on what league you chose. The calendar format is set out the way it is in real life (>click<), which is in months, so you have start of the season with negotiations, a January transfer and end of season transfer. The way the European season is set out in real life is how it is in the Master League calendar. Also you have the other leagues in the Master League with all the teams in the respective leagues.

The cup competition is quite realistic to, you have the CL where you have to finish 1-2 to go straight in the group stage and 3-4 puts you in the qualifying stages (>click<). In the group stage the format is the proper 8 group leagues, with your team proceeding to the knockout round if you finish 1st or 2nd and 3rd place going to the UEFA Cup. The UEFA Cup doesn’t have a group stage like in real life, which is forgivable, due to the lack of Europeans teams in the game. Here is snapshot of a league schedule during the year >click<. The domestic cups a not played over two legs, just one round and you go through, I’m not sure if there are replays in the game due to me not getting to that point yet. The cup competition starts at different times depending on the league your playing, so if you choose the Italian League it’ll start earlier in the season, but the English and French will start later in the season. Also Konami even added the World Club Championship in the game (under a fake name, which I changed), which has teams from other continents (>click<).

It’s been a really enjoying Master League and I’ve really been addicted to it, bar the odd dodgy matches. I’m currently 11th with RC Lens, haven’t been doing to well, due to a lack of players in certain potions; but I’m only 4 points of a European place so it’s all about trying to finish the season of well. In the first round of the cup I’ve got Lyon, which will be a tough match! The only thing I don’t like about the Master League is the ugly menu interface :puke:(>click<), which I should be able to live with.

I don’t understand why Konami don’t implement this type of Master League into the European version of the game, but it seems it’s only exclusive to the J.League editions of Winning Eleven. I think Konami should implement this type of Master League into the next-gen titles of the normal Winning Eleven edition of the game and in Pro Evolution Soccer. Then add a fictional second (even third, forth or fifth division, considering there now using blu-ray technology) division, which has a number teams depending on the league you chose. Then just add real money, improved transfer and stats system and you have a very good Master League. :) But after reading the preview of PES2008, it seems Konami will probably be giving us the same mundane Master League!!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Sounds great SB. The way they treat their Japanese audience in comparison to us is unbelievable, and that will be one reason why I may well switch to FIFA which has had an excellent career mode for a while now. Along with some very nifty gameplay breakthroughs.
