Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I was quite good in it, unfortunately i got injured a couple of years ago...a very serious injury (my onw fault, i came from behind the attacker and wanted to take the ball from behind which isn't permitted in "mini voetbal" - what happened was that my left foot was between the ball and my opponents foot just at the momet that he decide to give a migthy blast towards goal..). On top of that i was really needed at work so i just couldn't afford to stay at home..i went to work on crutches and the this was not good for the injury...
I can never play football again, the only sports i can do is cycling or running (i hate running)...that's why i decided to play virtual football...but i comes nowhere near the real thing although in virtual football i havr beaten all the big clubs (lol)...
The make matters worse the year i got injured my team became champions and played in the top division for a couple of seasons...in january there is an indoor futsal-a-like tournament where "mini voetbal" clubs of the top division play against first division clubs...my team mates played against Racing Genk and Beveren in that tournament...i was watching from the side lines knowing that i would never play again...if only i hadn't...enough.

Anyways congratulations on your team getting promoted.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Season eleven has been an unmitigated disaster for El Submarino Amarillo, which could be about to sink to the murky depths for the last time :(

There are five games remaining in the season. Cádiz are rock bottom of the Segunda Division, but that's nothing new nor the big worry. The problem is that another [P]2,800 in prize money, minimum, must be found in order to survive.

Three wins and a draw would do it, which might sound do-able, but when you consider that Cádiz have won one game all season, it seems less straightforward :(

The mood is abnormally gloomy around the Ramón de Carranza...

...on the brighter side, HERE is a goal scored during happier times... all those hours at the training ground on the outskirts of Cádiz used to pay off!

That sure is a peach of a goal nerf, fantastic...
I hope Cadiz can survive because i really like your story...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Sounds like your in line for a well deserved testimonial.

I don't think señor Antonio Muñoz Vera will be keen on arranging a testimonial if I send the club under :(

That's one thing about making promotion extremely difficult and staying in the second division for so long, the seasons just fly by due to so few fixtures.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hello guys,

As my workload is going down by the weeks i was thinking of starting a new ML. Believe it or not, i haven't touched the game in about two months or so!

Anyways, i had this idea of starting a ML with a custom team with real players, from different teams. What i want to do is create a 23 man team, which the majority of are well pass their peak. So i have a squad full of over 30 year olds. The youngest player i can have in the squad can be 27 years of age.

This means i have to try and get the best out of my aging squad, while trying to build a new young competitive squad with a limited budget!

Not only that, i'll be playing in a really competitive league with the other teams from different European nations (including the one JeffT created in the game). This is an idea i got from stan two pages back...
In PES5 i played a ML with Standard in a ML with Dutch, Belgian, Scandinavian, Ukrainian,Turkish teams and Sparta Praha...i found out that it was a very close league...every team was capable of winning against any other team...there rarely was a favourite and the league was a thriller until the end...
I hope that PES7 will have more teams from litle leagues like Portugal, Scotland, Belgium (of course) and the Scandinavian leagues...

Also what team do you think i should base this squad on (in terms of naming them)? I'm thinking of something similar to Professor Nutmeg made up team.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Sounds like an great idea SB. Seems like it would be interesting to read about. :)

About the name, it depends what country your team will be from. Something that sounds realistic would be the best option.;)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks PES King. I'm not really going to base this team on a country, just a football team who have teams full of players from different nationalities.

Also I've looking at different players in the edit mode, to create my custom team. One thing i noticed was how so many players have multiple positions registered on them! Not only that but there some crazy positions given like how a SB could play as a WG and CF...or the classic "CMF/DMF/SMF/WB/AMF" one. LOL!

There to many players with these kinda positions. In real life football there aren't that many players who are that versatile...you only get a few players who are like Cocu.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I haven't made up a team as yet, SB. Perhaps you were thinking of either AEL Limassol (Cypriot) in my Mediterranean League or FC Vaduz (Liechtenstein) in my Zentral Liga. Both real teams :)

When you create a team (within ML) there are some prenamed, with strips and crests. Maybe you can pick one of them (you can still edit strips and names though, no matter which one you choose) You have to choose one essentially. I did this with FCV. You can also choose which kind of chant you want eg Asian, German, etc..

Yes that what i'm talking about.

You used a real team and based them upon what type of team they are. I recall FC Vaduz are a team with players of a whole bunch of different nationalities, right?

So what i'm want to do is used a team like that and insert some aging/peaked player from different teams and create a fictional squad based on a real team, who has players from different nationalities. :)

I got 23 of them to pick, and they have to be average, way past their peak and all of them (apart from one) have to be 30 years or over. That should make it that extra bit challenging. ;)

Haha, that is Konami for you.

Good luck with it anyway. :)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

AC Milan?

How about a Swiss team like FC Basel or FC Thun?
LOL Professor Nutmeg!

FC Basel will be competing in the team with me. :)

About FC Thun...nah! They ain't got that something about them.
choose NK Maribor , sexy in purple
Thanks -Joe-, I'll look into them.

EDIT: I hate their kit -Joe- :) Thats a put of for me.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Well Stringer i would choose a Bosnian team...due to the the civil war lots of players have fled and they have a new team with different nationalities (you could make a Muslim team): name of the team Velez Mostar or Sarajevo...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Or a Russian team SB.
In the last few seasons they've had an influx of foreign players: Brazilian, Portuguese, African and other European nationalities. FK Moskva, Dinamo Moskva, Zenit St. P..

can't say this about Dinamo as they rely mostly on Russian players and most of them are still very young and some are really promising ones, and the likes of Khokhlov and Semshov(who is the best russian cmf at the moment imho) the same can be adressed to FC Moskva. And i wouldn't pick Zenit cos they are a strong team(in top 4 with CSKA, Spartak & Loko) so it won't be too realistic plus again important positions are occupied by russian or ukrainian players(like Arshavin, Radimov, Malafeev or Tymoschuk). If u'd like to pick some russian team u should try Rubin cos they are probably the only team that relys on the foreign players mostly.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Good luck with your new ML, sb.

Mine has just finished :(. I got my first ever 'game over' message after eleven seasons with Cádiz, finishing over 800 points shy of my final salary target.

What went wrong? I think I got a little bit complacent, a bit too ambitious. Rather than being as cautious and playing for the draw as I had done to start with, as I brought in new players over the years I think I opened up too much and overstretched a little.

Perhaps I over-spent in the transfer market. Most of my signings were free agents (of which I allowed myself only one per season), but I also signed four players for transfer fees. In hindsight maybe trying not to do that would have saved up some 'emergency' cash for seasons that didn't go to plan, such as the last two.

I also think, however, that the bar just got raised too high. As wages spiralled (3192 to start with, around 5000 by the end) my target was harder to reach, and I also think the CPU teams I was playing against improved over time. Mallorca, for example, picked up reincarnations of Zidane and Costacurta. A lot of these poor/average Spanish sides I was competing against improved their talent pools over the years, as young players developed and new ones came in. So while my team was slowly getting more talented, my opponents were doing the same.

The first nine seasons were great fun, but the last two were a real grind. Overall it was the most frustrating ML I've ever played but conversely the most satisfying as well. It was interesting just to go through the process of trying to survive each year, of dealing with players retiring (because of how the years fly by in the small division) and struggling to get new players on-board, when your primary concern is to avoid bankruptcy rather than win the competitions, when sometimes you find yourself in situations where you are literally playing for your career.

I think my next ML will have to be along the same lines. I haven't decided yet whether to keep the same harsh difficulty level or perhaps ease it up just a touch.

One of the best stories i've ever read on this forum nerf...great...
I'm disappointed that it's all over...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks Stan. I was a bit disappointed too because I thought that I could turn it around eventually, but at the same time a fresh start might not be such a bad thing.

It's back to Italy next, I reckon. I had fancied France, because I've never done a proper Ligue Un ML before, but the thing that's swaying me further south is my option file has enough clubs to do a pure Italian league (I don't have quite enough French clubs for that), and the patch I'm using has many club-specific Italian chants but few French. It's nice to have that authenticity.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

My news,

Hertha Berlin failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage last night, despite a 1-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, in the last qualifying group game. Leverkusen pipped Berlin by 2 goals difference, as they tied on 8 points. The group was so tight that the final places were only decided on the last day.

Hertha will now contest the UEFA Cup, facing Portuguese club Braga, in the first knock-out round of the competition.

On the domestic front, Hertha are going strong in second position, two points behind VfB Stuttgart. Meanwhile, Hertha's 33 year old striker Christian Gimenez is currently the league's top scorer, with an impressive eight goals in six games.

Your right mate.

I was originally going to go for Dynamo Moscow, but then when i looked at my team and read your post....so then i thought i'll make up a team called FC Dynamo Torpedo.

Though i have to say there isn't anything dynamic or torpedoish about the players i picked so far. :D

What i'm going though is loosely base the team around Dynamo Moscow, in terms of using their kit and badge.

An update on this coming soon.

@nerf, Unlucky about your ML nerf, it sounded like it was fun while it lasted.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

SB, actually the thing is here in Russian Premier League there's a limit on foreign players therefore to make your game realistic you should be having at least 4 russian players(most of the teams have more than half-russian starting squad anyway) in your starting eleven so u'd have to add some russian players to your squad too.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

A bit of news from this side too..
Currently i'm playing a ML with Lens on PSP. I play on professional level.
I'm in my first season. Lens are currently third in the 3th division of the ML. I have played 8 games so far. Lots of draws but uptil now still unbeaten. It is very, very difficult (much more difficult than on PS2 IMHO).
I just had one of the most enjoyable matches ever. Lens had to play Watford in an away fixture and were dominated by Watford throughout. But on the rare occasions that they counter-attacked, they were deadly accurate. Four shots on goal and each and every one was bingo. An hattrick by Cousin and one goal by Jomaa. In the end 4-1. Aruna Dindane, Coulibaly, Keita and Cousin are very good. Itandje isn't always reliable but seems more spectacular than most other GK's i've ever played with (maybe i'm imagining this...).

Thats the problem you see, there aren't enough peaked/ageing, average Russian players about. A lot of them are too young or to good for my team. I was thinking of adding Titov, but his to good of a player, especially with your update. ;) and plus his supposed to be some sort of Russian football figure, am i right?

I was thinking of adding Onokpo to the squad, but i think his retired right. If his not i might create him and put him in the game.

Thanks.
