The Master League adventures thread

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

He does indeed. I think there is an emphasis on midfielders arriving in the box for headers (a la Tim Cahill) in PES6. I've had it happen often against me a lot too.

On the ML front, i'll be seeing out my 5th and final year of my contract at FCV (currently a little over half way through the season) and then i shall be moving country (not hard to do from Liechtenstein).
Yeah, I also noticed that to with the COM.

Hope your final season with FCV is a good one.

@Big Boss, Thanks for the correction.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Just wanted to say something quickly about a little incident that happened in my ML.

I was playing against PSV in Div1, (my third season with Sparta Rotterdam) I was losing 1-0 and in the last few minutes of the match Vayrynen ran down the flanks and went to the corner of the touchline and held the ball in front on him (like how Henry does) to run the time down! :D That shit surprised because i never expected that to ever happen and i never new what to do so i tackled him from a behind (:circle: ) with Bouaouzan, got carded and PSV won a freekick, which resulted in a goal being scored! 2-0!
It happened to me again and against the same team. :)

Here is a clip of a PSV player (COM) running the time down in the last few minutes of the match, while their 1-0 up.

CLICK

I lost the match 1-0 and the player managed to was a valuable amount of time for me.

Very cool, I haven't seen that yet. Thanks for the clip, SB.

I don't know what my qualifying group is like yet, I haven't quite started the new season.

A mere 24 hours after Espanyol secured their top flight status for another season, the sword of Damocles finally fell on Ernesto Valverde...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I wonder where Valverde is going to....i've heard he is well known in Portugal...

Db: i'm not sure i know why the PSP version is much more difficult...smaller screen, the camera is less wide, maybe my eyes...if i would play on thesame difficlulty as on PS3 (formerly 4 stars) i would loose all my matches... I don't mind a relegation battle but there must be at least some doubt about the result beforehand...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Congrats DB on staying up!

Looks like I will be without the services of Ashley Young, once I start my ML when the Window slams shut. That will leave me with few options upfront. It will definitely be a challenge.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Db, great to hear that u've been able to escape relegation, mate. Hope Balague can make some wise decisions on the transfer market and make the team become stronger and competitive in it's next season.
Congrats to nerf on finishing third. It's a huge success for a small team like Alemania, hope you can keep on moving in the right direction to becoming a real power in Germany. Of course in order this to happen you need to sign 1-2 top class players, cos after losing your leader your squad will need someone to take them to new heights.

perhaps that's it mate or maybe the buttons are more fiddly or something.

are you planning on keeping the services of Aidy Boothroyd mate or is John Barnes likely to return ? (in a specially widened dugout natrually)

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

It's got to be Toshack Db

Looked like a good CL final btw.

I reckon i'll soon be leaving Liechtenstein's alpine wonderland for the sunnier climbs of the Balearics. RCD Mallorca to be specific. The Greek, Basinas plays quite well for me, a good deep playmaker. I also created the chap Bosko Jankovic, who appears to be making an impact at the club. I reckon he'll go on to better things irl.

PS nice Brunette today.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hi mate,

well at 25's it might be worth a few of your hard earned euros...
however I have a feeling GB will be looking west....

Nice call on Mallorca mate, I often think of them as the sort of black sheep of La Liga. It's a shame that Tenerife have fallen out of the top flight as they were one of the least liked grounds for the big sides to visit. Perhaps you could make the Son Moix as intimidating..

cheers - Catherine Mcphee, quite a looker eh

Oost = the super sub!

I've got this player in my team by the name Oost and every time i bring him on when i'm a goal down or drawing a game i need to win he seems to always find the back of the net!

Maybe this is because his a different type of player from Kennedy, which probably makes me play differently, but he consistently does it. His scored 6 six goals last season and all of them came when i brought him on as a sub. Seriously!

Anybody had a player like this?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

As a matter of fact i currently have two players like that in my Atalanta team: Andrea Soncin (goal scorer) and Senaya (assists).
I bring them on the pitch after 60 minutes and they do it quite often...Soncin was one of my favourite players in Football Manager. In PES6 he was a huge disappointment when i started my ML but somehow i decided to keep him and he develops quite well after a couple of seasons. He's not as good as my two regular forwards Kerzhakov and Ventola, but he turns out to be a super sub (the new Fairclough, anybody remembers him???).

Prof, at the moment i'm playing with Mallorca in Football Manager for PSP. Got relegated in my first season, became champions in the second and now i'm in my third an have a very good results (currently 9th, which is quite good)...Glad to have Diego Tristan and Pisculischi in that team (meanwhile Pisculischi left the team, but he's one of my better players).
In my PSP PES6 ML i just bought Arango from Mallorca (Arango is my star player in Football Manager).

About the second leg of my CL semi-final Atalanta-Barcelona: i'm currently watching the 3 seasons of The Wire (best television series ever and the series which gave our friend Stringer his nick) and this will have to wait...you people should really watch the Wire (Stringer will agree with me...).

Co-sign.

I think its the right thing to do, he needs rescuing from C5 Football night. He could do with my new rigorous fitness regime too.

The coaches and the players have to do it. Forward as one:lmao:

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Cruel end to a fairy tale...

Atalanta Bergamo - Barcelona 2-1 (pk 9-8)

78th Kerzhakov
82th Soncin
90+ Messi

Atalanta's players were really devastated after yesterday's great semi-final which ended in a thriller penalty shoot-out.
After Barcelona's 2-1 win in the first leg, Atalanta needed a simple 1-0 win.
Gerd DK preferred a cautious approach to the second leg. The first half of the second leg saw a couple of chances for both teams, but all in all both teams seemed focussed on avoiding goals, more than on creating chances.
In the second half Barcelona clearly wanted a deciding away goal but Atalanta's defense played a splendid match with Scurto, Bellini and Proto as the main protagonists in a fine defensive performance.
After75th minutes Atalanta's manager took a gamble and replaced holding midfielder Migliaccio by the more adventurous Marzoni and central defender Capelli by super-sub Soncin.
This resulted almost immediately in a goal by Kerzhakov after a run by Marzoni.
Atalanta immediately went for a second goal and got when Bellini gave the perfect assist for Soncin. Bergamo went in collective trance and the players chased a third goal influenced by the euphoric audience...and then the best player on the pitch struck again. Messi dribbled a couple of Atalanta defenders, and scored a wonderful goal for Barcelona.
In extra-times, both clubs once again preferred the cautious approach.
And then came the penalty shoot-out...
The first eight kickers of each team did not miss...
Barcelona's ninth penalty kick was for Sylvinho who sent Proto the wrong way. Up came Bellini for Atalanta and he missed...Atalanta's most valuable player of the match tragically missed.
The despair in Bergamo was enormous afterwards. Atalanta narrowly missed a dream final against real madrid by the smallest of margins.
Gerd DK was visibly devastated when attending the press conference. He congratulated Barcelona, called their win deserved but congratulated his players...
In today's Gazetto delle Sport a move to England is rumoured for the Belgian coach who is adored in Bergamo...

Sliziard Nemeth did it all the time for me in PES1. In the days where you had to start with Volander and Castello et co

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Njorgo/Njord seemed to do it for me in many of the PES'. Bringing on a fresh pair of attacking legs at key moments does generally yield results.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Mourinho's sacking provokes strange carroussel in North-Western League:

Roman Abramovich finally lost patience with José Mourinho after a season of underachievement. The sacking of the special one provoked a strange managers carrousel in the newly formed North-Western League. It seems that Chelsea's Peter Kenyon's persuasive powers are behind the sentional transfer of sir Alex Ferguson from Old trafford to Stamford Bridge.
Next step in this strange dance was the appointment of Gordon Strachan at the helm in Manchester biggest club. Sheffield United's old boss Neil Warnock became the new manager of Celtic leaving Sheffield without a manager.
Meanwhile Harry Redknapp finally took his retirement in Portsmouth, giving Aidie Boothroyd the opportunity to move a step up. Rumours are that Watford are charmed by the young and unexperienced Peter Eyres.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

 @ DB.

Stan, what the hell's happening on the brittish isle ??

Damn haven't been able to start my ml for almost week time already. Hope that Martie Ross (my PES counterpart) can get to his duties as soon as possible.

As he said in his first interview to L'Equipe: "I'm anxiously waiting for the moment when i can finally step into Nantes' president role and start the new page in my life. I've never moved further than British isle in my career and this job is obviously a serious challenge for me".

Before moving to league 1 mr. Ross has been working in 2 EPL sides Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

La Liga outfit Real Mallorca have today confirmed the appointment of Professor Nutmeg as their new manager. The tactician leaves FC Vaduz after 5 years in charge, where he dragged the Liechtenstein minnows from lowly second division status, to albeit briefly playing amongst Europe's elite.

"El Profesor" returns to Spain, having previously managed Deportivo Alavés, in what is still regarded as some of the Basque club's best years. No doubt the islanders will now be hoping they too will have good times ahead, having endured indifferent seasons of late.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Nice choice, Prof, i like Mallorca squad especially their wingers Venezuelian Juan Fernando Arango and argentinian Jonas Manuel Gutierrez.

Hello Proff,

I hope you get off to a good start!
