Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

OF/editing question.

I've been adding some teams from other option files to mine. I've been 'overwriting' the C league players. I thought overwriting was exactly that. However, when i went to look in the 'free' area, i found a whole bunch of Player1 etc. I'm guessing these are the guys i 'overwrote'. Has that happened to anyone else?

I think they might be the guys that you never overwrote over.

You have to overwrite over all of them so they won't appear in the free area. When i used JeffT's option file v2 i noticed there were still those "Player1" in the free area, so i just overwrote them over players that weren't in the game.

A Jonatas dismissal 12 minutes from time, capped off a forgettable night for Los Periquitos, as Barcelona, clearly in no mood to be neighbourly, tore at their blue and white bretheren from the first whistle and never looked back....

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

hi mate

great site! i see you brought a couple of faces in (after you were promoted ?)

Are you going to have to sell to buy this time round ?

db
I started in the first division, I've only played one season (06/07) so far. The mention of 2005/06 is from the real Aachen, sorry if that was confusing.

Okoronkwo was a free agent and Diakité was funded by the Schlaudraff money, so no need to sell at the moment. In fact I almost have enough to pay for next year's wages already, money shouldn't be a problem at all.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Db, which (game difficulty) level are you playing on again, Professional? It looks like a season battling relegation for you.

Nerf, indeed, top site you have there.

I've sorted the "player1" problem. It seems you need to overwite them (in Peseditor) in the main library area (on the left) rather than in an actual squad.
My next ML will have a good few European club additions to it now :) It will make Europe a bit more interesting (should i get there).

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hi Proff

Sadly for me, this is on 'Normal', the equivalent of 3*! although tbh i think it's more like 4* on previous Pro Evo's.

Barcelona really were awesome. I man marked Ronaldinho, but they were just too strong.

It's a long hard season ahead as you say mate.....

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I've got to admit I'm thoroughly enjoying PES6 now. Now that I've spent a good amount of time playing it - roughly 45 ML matches I'd guess - I'm really getting into it.

So far at least, I think Top Player is the most challenging difficulty level that Konami have given us in the series. In particular the AI seems far, far better at dribbling with the ball, to the extent that just trying to read their direction, 'jockey' and time a foot-in tackle is a real test of concentration. Defending with Aachen feels nervy all the time.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Wish you succes in your relegation battle.
In my Atalanta ML, things are going surprisingly "realistic".
Surprise teams are doing well but Inter will be champions.
With two matches to go Inter is already mathematically sure being champions.
AS Roma is second and Milan 3th.
Fenerbahce and Atalanta are battling for the fourth place (with both mathematically certain of CL qualifiers).
Lazio, Torino and Palermo have equal points and the best of these 3 teams will take the last place for the CL qualifiers.

Yesterday evening Atalanta secured their CL qualifying place in the sweetest possible way: with a victory against Milan in Giuseppe Meazza.
In the first half Milan was the better team but Atalanta did not concede goals.
For the second half i decided to play more offensive with three attacking players (4-3-1-2 with two very attacking side backs) and this time Atalanta was the dominating team.
In the 87th minute Ariatta headed the only goal of the match...in goal (where else???).

With 27.000 PES and salary costs of around 11.000 i will be able to buy a couple of good players...i'm quite charmed by an attacking midfielder of Fiorentina: Pazzini i think...hope i can buy him.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

The San Siro is called Giuseppe Meazza in PES6, i'm guessing thats the proper name for the Inter/Milan's home stadium, but where did the name come from? Is it named after someone or something?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I think it's named after one of the most famous players that played for Inter (and maybe for a while for Milan too).
I've once heard that it's called "Giuseppe Meazza" when Inter is the home team and "San Siro" when Milan is (but i'm not sure that's true..).

Edit: Db beat me with his information...and acoording to Wikipedia, Meazza only played for Inter...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I will repeat my question of a couple of days ago: will any you buy the PSP version and play a PSP ML...
I'm waiting for my copy and will start a PSP ML aswell...
I'm gonna let my wife decide with which team i will play (she might aswell decide that too..joke, she's too cute to make fun of here). Did the same with FM for PSP, now i'm playing with Mallorca...a not so fashionable team in the Spanish Liga...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

San Siro is the original and proper name imo. Milan played there only, then Inter came along after WWII and named it Giuseppe Meazza in 1980 (after a famous Inter player who died in '79).

Gerd, i won't be buying a PSP, i don't find the occasion for it.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I have always assumed that Giuseppe Meazza is the proper name and San Siro was derived from the area of Milan it is situated in.

Some other contentious stadium names are is it de Kuip or Stadion Feijenoord? Estadio Alberto J. Armando or La Bombonera?:)

One thing I dislike is the commercial naming of stadiums, the Emirates stadium I will always think of as Ashburton Grove, Signal Iduna Park as Westfalenstadion, anyone know if the Allianz Arena has a none commercial name?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I think that "De Kuip" is the official name...and if it isn't it's the name that is used by every Feyenoord or Dutch NT football fan...

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Okay, thanks guys for the info.

I was interested to know why it was called Giuseppe Meazza.

Professor Nutmeg, San Siro is named after a street in Milan (i think). I remember a World Soccer article back in 2002 mentioning something about where the San Siro name came from.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Okay, Professor Nutmeg.

Does anybody here find the shooting a bit difficult?

When i'm shooting, the power of the shoot seems to be higher than how i actualy pressed the :square: button. I missed A LOT of good chances because of this, even in front of goal i've messed up with the ridiculous shooting in this game. I have to tap :square: with the slightest of touchiest, even then it still goes over the bar!

I don't know, maybe i need more practicing...

So far at least, I think Top Player is the most challenging difficulty level that Konami have given us in the series. In particular the AI seems far, far better at dribbling with the ball, to the extent that just trying to read their direction, 'jockey' and time a foot-in tackle is a real test of concentration. They also pass the ball really well to and are deadly in front of goal!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I think i know what you mean. I sometimes balloon over an effort from 6 yards when i haven't added much power. But it's often a snap shot and the player doesn't have much time to compose himself. I think it's due to the player's shot technique. Supposedly PES6 is more difficult to shoot accurately when running around at angles and turning etc.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I agree that the shooting is a little too sensitive in some situations, I think the key is to try and get the player "set" as much as possible so he isn't off balance or his weight isn't on the wrong side so he is falling away from the ball as he strikes it

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Well, my PES3 experiment was a dead end. It's exactly the same game as PES5 & PES6 (albeit with some fairly minor differences). I suppose I'll have another look at 6 but it looks like the end of the road for me.

FC VADUZ NEWS

FC Vaduz's virgin Zentral Liga Division 1 campaign appears to be faring well. The Liechtenstein club are bobbing around a tightly packed mid-table, having even flirted with European qualification spots.

Vaduz were denied a third league victory in a row last night, when they faced Belgian giants Anderlecht in Brussels. In what was a thrilling end-to-end encounter, the hosts Sébastien Siani broke Vaduz hearts equalising in extra time, leveling the score at 3-3, after the visitors let slip a 2-0 lead. Prior to this game, Vaduz had to come from behind on two occasions, to record back to back victories against Heerenveen and Willem II.

In the Zentral Liga Cup, Vaduz defeated Copenhagen 2-0 in Denmark, in the first round first leg of the competition. The Liechtensteiners will surely be eyeing the second round.

In other news, rumours are circulating that European clubs are monitoring the progress of FCV manager, Professor Nutmeg. His achievements with the club are apparently not going unnoticed. It's thought Serie A outfit Empoli FC may be seeking talks with the tactician in order to lure him back to Italy.
