The 'Become A Legend' Discussion Thread

Im near the end of my 3rd season of the game, im playing as an SS for sampdoria. ive been with them for 2 years and played almost every match, score regularly and get decent ratings. when i started my experience points wre rising steadily after each game but now for most of this season they are coming up really slowly even although i am having, by far, my best season yet. i dont know if this is because my player has done enough at a "diddy" club and needs a move to a bigger team playing in better competitions to continue improving??? Have i answered my own question.

Also i hardly get any (if any at all) match experince points only strength experience points. any idea why that is???

Any help appreciated. cheers

You'll get less points since you are getting older. I'm 23 now and I only get 1 or 2 % per game. It has nothing to do with your team and chaning teams won't improve your stats (it does if your team isn't playing international tournaments,.. cause you'll play more matches with another team).
The red experience poins are allmost impossible to get. It seems like you need a good rating in an important game. But it doenst make any sence.

Yea Fenno your just getting older now and your progression slows down. The only difference moving to a big club would make is that you would play more matches in european cups and probably progress further in the league cup, meaning more matches and more exp.

As for the match exp points. You don't get them often. You will get them for things like international games, semi's and finals of cups, big league matches against close rivals. One thing I have noticed is if you play really well in a match you do tend to get some match exp, no matter what match it is. For instance if I bang in a couple of goals I tend to get some match exp on my shooting stats.

Good to see that pro evo lovers are enjoying the BAL mode! I am an ardent Pro Evo fan, so all this stuff about FIFA having a similar mode is lost on me.

A couple of points:

1. The best thing to do when you're starting out is to put as many strengthen blocks as you can in the two technique categories, cos these give you growth in the most areas of your abilities. Stamina is the worst for growth, it only gives growth in you guessed it, stamina! Incidentally, I used vertical wide camera angle until I got good at movement and then switched to normal (wide) like you would in the normal game. I just find judging tackles and shooting too hard in vertical wide. Any views on this you guys?

2. Does ANYONE know why those buttons next to the player name plates light up during gameplay? I keep thinking if you press them you'll unleash some sort of super pro evo combo lol!

I kept using the vertical cam. It's hard to get used to since I (and you probably as well) are used to the wide cam, but when you get the hang of it it's much easier to dribble past players.

And the numbers next to your name are your team tactics. If you play a normal mode you can set the tactics (counter attack, pressing, etc.) and you'll see the Xbox buttons, but in BAL the CPU sets the tactics.
Check the formation screen and you'll see stuff like:
1: Pressing
2: Counter Attack
3: All Offensive
4: Center back overlap

So whenever "2" pops up you'll know that the manager wants your team to play with counter attacks.

Congrats Rootz, who you play for now?

Thanks...the funny thing is i play for Bolton..but they have changed Alot in 6 years...they bought the majority of those great newcomers who turn out into legends (Kaiser, Marchand, Bonnet and Chapi to name a few)...but im looking to leave them at the end of the season and win a move to a top italian team for 2 seasons then earn a move to top spanish team for 2 seasons then finish my career at a team in my 'Others' League..around 29 ish 30 latest. (i dont want my ststs to decrese too much)lol.

Hey guys. Im in my 5th season now.
1st Nac Breda: sh*t
2nd Spartak Moskow: 1 level higher than sh*t
3rd Genoa: mediocre
4th Fulham: Unbelievable. Became champions and scored 22 goals and about 8 assists or something.
5th Fulham: Had a reasonable start of the season, but i could have been better. I play mostly the cup and international games. So i skip the league matches. We're about 16th and 19 points a drift from Chelsea. So no double for Fulham.
But in the CL, things are looking good. Lost the 1st against the Toons, but then won against Roma and Madrid.Drawn against Toon and Madrid, but won again Roma. So we advanced and in the 1/4 final is waiting Lazio. I have 3 goals and 4 assists.
But in the LC, ow things are looking good !
Managed to beat Chelsea on away goals.0-0 @ Craven Cottage, but
1-1 at the Bridge. With me equalising in the dying seconds from a corner. Next up was United. Pretty tough draw, first Chelsea than United. But the 1st leg was an easy one!
5-1 victory over the Mancs and i had a brace. Was looking for my first hattrick but not my day.
So i keep you lads informed!
Tomorrow another day of pes:D

To update: I spent my first season at Auxerre, where I was a bad player in a bad team. On the rare occasions I did get a chance I didn’t usually take it and we finished 16th in Division D (The division with the worst teams in it). We did however, have a glorious cup run fired by my goals (4 in 6 matches – 2 of them last minute winners or equalisers) – We ran out of luck against Kobenhaven in the semi-finals and that was the end of my season.

In the summer I was hoping for one of the big teams in Division D to come after me, but it was largely mid-table dross. As the summer went on I was becoming more and more worried that I was going to have another dreadful season when in the last week Lazio (from the heady heights of Division B!) made me an offer.

It didn’t take me long to get a game in the first team and Lazio’s form picked up as soon as I was introduced. From 16th when I first got into the team, we were top and clear by 10 pts come the mid-winter break. In that spell we had 10 league wins in a row, including the brace I scored against Roma in the derby.

Naturally, the team form was a little rocky in the second half of the season as the pressure got to us and Spurs and Man City ate away at our lead. By the end of the season, we were playing dreadfully and the lowest point was a 4-0 drubbing at home to Bordeaux. 2 games left and now just 3 points ahead, we had to visit Ibrox where Rangers were having an indifferent season. Fortunately I struck a humdinger in the first minute to settle the early nerves, then 3 minutes laid on the 2nd for Rocchi.

2-0 up after 5 minutes, Lazio began playing the football they had produced at will earlier in the season and we ran out 6-1 winners, yours truly picking up the MOM award. Sadly, City had won 4-0 so were still 3 points behind but with better goal difference than us. We needed at least a point in Monaco.

It was a nervy game, Monaco were playing with abandon while we focussed purely on not making mistakes. 0-0 at half time and we knew that City had romped to a 3-0 victory – any error now and we would blow a whole seasons work. Straight out of the dressing room at the beginning of the 2nd half, I dashed down the right wing, swinging in a cross between 2 defenders and on to Makinwa’s head. It hammered against the crossbar and bounced right to the grateful feet of Pandev who slid it past the onrushing keeper. We were all but home and dry. From then on, we played 10 behind the ball and Monaco rarely threatened. After stoppage time that seemed to last an eternity, we were Champions – cue dramatic scenes at the Stade Louis II!

So a league winner at 18 – I’m delighted I’ve got that off my back! My stats for the year weren’t great, 11 goals, 4 assists and an average score of 6.5 but I don’t think that tells the tale. I was involved in virtually every goal we scored but my ratings rarely matched how I felt I had done in the game – so the aim for next season is to improve on the basic goal scoring and assist making.

I had lots of offers in the summer, but none from Racing or Chelsea so I’m staying at Lazio for 2009-10 and hopefully add a European title to my medal haul.

Division Winners:

A: AC Milan
B: Lazio
C: Newcastle
D: Toulouse

An update about Mansouri's carreer.
He's in his third season now and finally things are going well for him.
He's become a first team regular with St-Etienne. After a disastrous start, St-Etienne is doing well now. They are slowly crawling up the table (they came from the twentieth place) now and Mansouri is finally scoring some goals and important ones at that...
St-Etienne can still hope to play European football since they are in the quarter finals of the French Cup. They have won their home leg with 2-1, two goals from Mansouri after being 0-1 down against Nancy.
Mansouri is beginning to think about the Belgian national team, that is the reason why i stayed in St-Etienne during the midseason transfer window although he had offers from L'OM, PSG and Le Mans (this being one of his favourite clubs). But in order to become an international, he needs to play regularly and a transfer would surely put him back again...

Wow i was playing online vs al real bad player then suddenly around the 80th minut connection was lost and the other player got the win... then i went to his stats... 23 win 0 draw 0 looses 3 goals scored on avege 0 against..... Lately more and more cheaters online...:BORED:

One thing that annoyed me with the BAL rating is when i got a 6.5 after scoring a hat-trick... I thought I'd get a 8.0 minimum.

Mansourri's St-Etienne just lost the final of the French Cup aginst Girons de Bordeaux...serves them bloody well good because that stupid coach put Mansourri on te bench...he was a starter in all the other matches after the transfer window and it's average rating was 6,5...Masourri was brought on the pitch in the 75th minute with St-Etienne 3-0 down and he gave the assist for the 3-1 and scored the 3-2. He got the Most Impressive Player of the match trophy...to add insult to injury...will he stay with St-Etienne (where after all he's had his best year until now...)

I finished my 3rd season with Real Betis. Another good season after winning the league and champs league last season. We managed to beat Liverpool 3-0 in the champs league final to retain our trophy. Fell short in the league :( was 1 point behind Barcelona with 1 game left. Barca lost! But I was on the bench for the last game and my team lost as well...so Valencia leap frogged us both to win the league.

Played 5 England qualifiers (missed one through a 2 week injury) and scored 9 goals for them. 5 of those came against Israel.

Got 28 league goals and 12 assists in the league to be top of the goals and assist charts. Was hoping for a move to a big team in the transfer window but alas only Real Madrid came in for me and I don't like their team. So with Betis for another half season at least, really hoping Man Utd come in for me as I feel I would suit their set up perfectly.

Played 2 games of my 4th season at Betis. Started off on absolute fire against Athletico Madrid, banged in 4 goals with some ease. Followed that up with another comfortable 2 goals against Lyon in the champs league group qualifiers. Come on Man Utd I'm frigging awesome dammit!

just1moreperson if you ever sign for them hopefully United's setup will suit you more than it suited me, it wasn't as bad as playing for Chelsea though, talk about boring...

I thought I'd be one of those journeymen like Marcus Bent but I finally found my club in AC Milan as a CMF and I absolutely love playing for them.

Marcus Bent is a poor mans journeymen.

I play striker and figured Man Utds 2 up front, along with the talent in their team, would suit me. Wouldn't mind a move to AC Milan or Barcelona either. Real Madrid were the only BIG club to come in for me in the summer and they don't excite me much because they have lost alot of players and brought in crap.

I played at chelsea on my other BAL mode where I'm a winger. I left pretty quickly as they are friggin OLD and slow.

Update on my striker who banged in his 100th goal for Betis last night:WORSHIP:

I Agree with Rob, the actual mode is a very good idea and it is set out well but the actual gameplay and ratings are so badly flawed it is unreal!

Firstly I'll tell you where I am in the game. Iv played 9 seasons of which most of them have been at Everton (who signed Gerrard and Van der Vaart!?!?!, unrealistic to start with?. Im a DM who averages 7-7.2 a season and my stats are very good and im probably on par with Gerrards stats ATM and I start pretty much every game unless my arrow is on a down when Fellaini starts instead of me, and I come on after 60mins every time.

My main bug bear with the game in general is the passing and movement in that 50% of the time it doesnt pass where you quite clearly want the ball to go (unless its a really short pass). With regards to movement the other players very rarely make a run especially when there is loads of room to move into, the odd chipped ball over the top works but most of the time a good defender will cut it out anyway. The other plays striking is also terrible. For Everton, Yakubu (a great finisher) is terrible at scoring. In my 3rd season with Everton he scored 3 goals all season, less than the other 2 strikers (jutkiewicz and vaughan) at the club even though he played twice as many games.

My biggest bug bear is with the ratings. There is absolutely no correlation between anything (except maybe shots at goal). In one game I had no goals or assists, 5 shots (one on target), 38 touches, 31 passes (17 completed), 4 intercepts and my rating was an 8?!?!?!? Passing completion, touches, carry distance all have no effect. So then I thought it must be the quality of service you provide. However, I played Man U once got 50ish touches created 6 easy goal scoring oppos for Yakubu and we lost 1-0. My other stats were all good and I got a 6!!!!

On the other hand I have played dreadfully in a game and had 7/8 shots and been rewarded with 7-7.5's.

I find it ridiculous there is no relation between your stats and the rating you get. Its a real shame as you dont know whether playing well will be rewarded and the game as a whole is a really great concept. Im going to finish my career out of pure stubborness but after that I probably wont play the game again. Hopefully a few more tweaks for next year will see it become a really great version of the game in future decisions

It certainly can be frustrating at times. I don't pay attention to my rating at all anymore. One thing I will say is interceptions probably explain your 8 rating for that match. The game likes it when you intercept.

Try scoring a Hat-Trick, 1 assist, 2 intercepts, 10 passes made, 9 complete. I had no fouls but one offside and scored a 6.5 ??? WTF. Gibson who played upfront with me for England in the same game got a 7.5 for one fricking assist and no-where near my passes or completions. ??

Other than that I'm still ridiculously addicted to this BAL mode.

I'm loving this mode!

My wife doesn't though particularly after I yelled at the tele after being subbed.

Zanni is a Argie AMF plying his trade at Real Valladolid. First season I manged to make the bench after 3 impresssive games in the training matches as a SS. I was then ushered into the first team coming on from the bench twice then being a regular starter for the rest of the season.

The summer I received offers from Depor, Malaga, Mallorca, Betis and Numancia. Just as I was about to sign for Depor it came to my attention that we had acquired Luque and Omar Bravo.
I decided to stay and play alongside these classy players in the hope that it would rub off on me.

The 2nd season started off well with Luque partnering me upfront.2 goals in the first 2 games was testament to this. But then a 2 match drought and successive 5.5 ratings saw me being dropped to the B-squad!!

I was devastated and spent the season back on the training pitches vowing to jump ship at the first opportunity. Valladolid were in tatters we had dropped from 9th to second from the bottom and the coach was just not interested in me.

So the mid season transfer arrived and I waited bags packed and ready to leave this dump. I again got offers from the same yeams but wanted to wait for another club outside Spain. I waited too long and the transfer window closed.

Somehow the idiot coach took my indecision for loyalty and aptly put me on the bench for the 1st match after the negotiation period. I came in and scored (take that Luque)next match I started and scored again. Yet I am again on the bench and the club is on another losing streak. Looks like I'll have to keep my bags ready.

Despite significant interest from Sicilian neighbours Catania and Napoli it was clear that the youngster's mind was made up from the moment the Ligurians put a firm offer on the table.

Nick will join up with the rosa ufficiale primavera on wednesday and will put pen to paper on a 1 year contract.

primavera.jpg

Mario Donatelli the Sporting Director of Genoa's youth academy and Antonio Bartoluppi the team manager were both impressed by his approach to the game moving in from the flanks and running at defenders despite his delicate frame.

Initially it is thought Terezakis will be given a second striker role with the opportunity to get wide, although there are currently a number of players in the first team such as Sculli, Olivera, Gasbarroni and Jankovic who already offer these skills.

However such thoughts are surely a long long way from Nick's head as he begins the first few steps on what he hopes will be a succesful calcio career.

Well db, Nick is playing for "my" Mansouri's dream team...some guys have all the luck.
Mansouri is twenty now and in his 4th season...
After 4 matches, St-Etienne have maximum points and Mansouri is top assister in League 1...he's waiting for his first cap...

hey guys am on my 8h season with inter it was my best season
but i want to ask u do can i make something about the transfer market??
our medfield is not as good as it was ?? can ii tell the club to buy some players?

they only bought one player in the last 3 seasons !!!!

Thats never good news lol, me thinks its time to move clubs! i know that my teams have always bought atleast 1 player per season, but ive only been at mid table teams until this season (boca juniors, psv, ac sienna to name a few)

I'm now 26 years old and only JUST realised that the Spanish League are not even in my BAL. My dream of moving to Real Madrid at my peak has now been completely dashed for this career anyway. Cant believe I didnt realise this before, I wondered why I'd never had an offer from a Spanish outfit.

I have the Premier League, Italian, Dutch and French. Next time I'll make sure the La Liga is in there.

My player though is a joy to play with, 95 for speed, acceleration, shooting accuracy, and shooting technique and a cheeky 90 for shot power. I'm as lethal as Hannibal Lectur in a slaughterhouse.

Hello,new Member here!

Anyway, I have a "become a legend". I just started it yesterday but I have a problem with it. Why does the couch sent me off when I play well?:/
