Tennis Games - General Discussion

Well, not sure if the publisher has anything to do with listening to feedback and implementing fixes... But Nacon is the publisher behind Session Skate Sim (Crea-Ture is the dev), and it's BY FAR the best skateboarding sim out there: it leaves Skater XL, Tony Hawk (obviously) and this pathetic new EA skate (live-service) game just completely biting the dust. The only ones that come close are the (now classic) EA Skate games (1,2 & 3) of the 7th generation.

If Big Ant (dev behind Tiebreak) goes the same way, with a certain amount of time (patches) it can turn out to be a good sim game. One can only hope... Hell, if it's better than the latest Top Spin (2k, one of the most evil micro transaction devs out there), then it's already a win.

There are moments where a player is running across the court to chase a shot and his racket faces the direction he's running in (i.e. sideways from the gameplay camera, rotating like the hands of a clock), and then the ball moves off in the direction of the opponent as if he's smashed the ball forwards. It's nothing to do with video speed-up as far as I can see, the shots just don't match the animations (or physical possibilities) a lot of the time.

But they're making the game they want to make (i.e. more arcadey than sim) and that's fine if it's fun!
Hello Chris.
Yes there are sometimes animation issues, the developpers know that.
But yes, this game is more fun to play than watching it on Youtube.
But like my FC videos, the speed is highter since I have a PS5 pro and I don't know why.

On their discord, we spoke to the CEO, Ross, and the chief developper, Mike, to show with videos what's wrong and what is ok.
But before making a Tiebreak 2, they want to have a good base.
I have more than 500 hours on this game and I prefer Tiebreak than TopSpin 2K25

This game needs better transitions between animations, a better ball physics, more skill to make a winner, a better CPU.
It reminds me FC : with a better gameplay, with all the licences, it could becthe ultimate tennis game.
But many tweaks are needed.

Not only in gameplay aspects, but just the fact of not having an infest of micro transactions that 2k is well known for (NBA 2k is currently a CANCER), it makes Tiebreak already better than Top Spin.

As I said, one can only hope. Although I don't think FC is the best example. The default gameplay on that game is absurdly bad.
