The gameplay with the last is the best since the beggining, with Early access period.
The variety of the cpu, the animations, I really like it.

Flight of the ball, and drag forces look right for the first time I think...

Back hand slice still weird at times.

If they fix slice animations it will be playable. They have gone a long road of improvement. I think now its better than top spin if you count presentation and roster. Well done

Yes the last patch is really a good step in the right direction. Big Ants could make a great tennis game before the end of the year!

And i am speaking as no1 in the world in top spin 2k25. Game has become boring and repetitive. I see more errors in tiebreak and thats good. Maby i will try it. I also bought tennis elbow 4 and play now

Yes I know mate since Top Spin 4😉.
I prefer TieBreak gameplay than TopSpin2K25. Too repetitiv that's true.

Finally picked up Tiebreak in the Steam Autumn Sale.

The game is definitely better than TopSpin.
It does however have so many weird things - Wouldn't call them bugs as they are not bugs but there is something really not right with the game.

The gamespeed seems to be all over the shop, one minute you hit a fast shot and so will the CPU and then you miss hit a shot and the game seems to slow down.
It certainly isn't a simulation either with pretty much every shot going in and it isn't TopSpin level of arcady but it is difficult to hit the net without really trying to do so - Moving from something that is full of errors and you have to be on your game 90% of the time in Full Ace, TieBreak certainly allows you to not pay attention every shot cos if you mess up and the CPU comes to the net then you have won the point.

Animations aren't quite right either but this is probably something that is still being worked on, as Saturator says it is being improved all the time.

Personally it is no doubt better than TopSpin and if you a console gamer then I would buy TieBreak over that any day of the week.
But if you want a sort of simulation more hardcore experience where gameplay is everything over graphics then Full Ace wins hands down.

I am hoping they continue to improve the game as there is only a few things they need to iron out to improve the game + They need to make it more difficult, only played on Hard and not the highest level - but won my game 6-3, 6-0 after losing the first 3 games I won 12 in a row.

Just started playing full Ace on realism mode. Wow. It's basically real tennis.

Tennis Elbow 4 is on console too now. Been playing the pc demo the last few days.. very much like it too.

Thank you so much for your write up. Very helpful as I was tempted by the steam sale.

Refunded TieBreak.
As kept playing it some more and instead of enjoying the game more as I got better - The exact opposite of actually finding more and more flaws with it.

It is not a good game there are so many animation issues with it and the gameplay makes little sense due to the animations and the legendary skill level just makes the computer seem to hit every ball and feels so arcady with just having to constantly hit the ball from side to side with very little strategy being employed to win the points.
If I hadn't been playing Full Ace the past year then I might of found this game acceptable, but I just can't get round how bad all the animations and shots look when played.

This needs a lot - a lot of patching to become a good game.

since i found full ace i wouldnt go to anothe game, very very good, just lacks any kind of atmosphere which can make it boring, and the career progression seems random in terms of stats so you have to know what kind of stats you want when you set up the player initially

I love full Ace, especially since I upped it to realism level. But lack of atmosphere I agree.

I have started tennis elbow 4 with xkt mod. Using 2D images of tennis stadiums and umpires etc. Works very well. Looks fantastic.

The gameplay is hard, but very close to modern tennis in it's brutality. The ball physics are probably more accurate than Full Ace.

I dont have a favourite between the two, but tennis elbow definitely offers further variety and choice.

I think I need to try Tennis Elbow again as couple of times I tried it I just couldn't get into it.

Full Ace on the other hand because of the sliders meant I could instantly find my level as a beginner.
Then gradually over time I kept upping the level so that the game is always a constant challenge, I think I have it on complete realism now and it is near perfect - can comfortably beat the lower ranked players but as soon as you get to the QF's or a ranked player the game goes up a notch and you have to really play a perfect game to break the CPU.

This is the problem with TieBreak, I started playing on hard and it was 6-3, 6-0 win.
Then upped it all the way to legendary and it just felt like the game was being exploited by the AI, they had superhuman speed and reach and were pretty much just hitting everything and winning points became a chore than a pleasure.

Least Tennis Elbow is on the Xbox, as console Tennis games are just not good.
TopSpin just felt like I was playing an old dated remastered game where the gameplay hadn't been updated.
TieBreak has many issues, mainly with weird animation issues but least you feel there could maybe be a good game here in a couple of years.

I just don't think tennis games obviously sell very well or the licensing is too costly, as otherwise there would be more of them.
Tennis Elbow and Full Ace have to be modded to be played as they are have no content out the box.

Only thing is I will be eternally grateful to @aussiepesfan & @Martan for recommending Full Ace as it is absolutely the best tennis game ever made.
It just has it's issues with a not very good career mode and no atmosphere - As started as an 18yo but your stats don't seem to go up much.

In tennis elbow I've had to play on arcade with fast movement. Still only won 3 games in 5 hours but is fun

I missed the Steam Autumn sale so probably missed Tennis Elbow, so will wait for the winter sales.
As I know it is the most modded game on the scene and you can play literally any era of tennis.

Where the problem with Full Ace is there is only one mod and that is the FA Mod.

Some videos of the last patch of TieBreak with sliders.
You can slowdown the game speed and change the the stamina effect.
On Legend, the CPU mades only few faults.

As i was talking about choice and what i/we want, i took a look yesterday to see which one of Full Ace Tennis, Tennis Elbow 4, Tiebreak with updates and Top Spin 2k25 was the one i can choose. And i'm more lost than before.

I stopped reading everything and it's opposite, but it seems that the 4 games are good and it's again a matter of feeling. interest and priorities from what you're waiting for a Tennis game.
I'm okay with 2k25, i love the inertia and rythm, overall feeling is pleasant but roster + mode + online servers are pretty bad.

Tennis Elbow 2013 lacked to me inertia and feeling regarding amount of power and resistance, endurance and i didn't liked the way to position the ball on the pitch. Sad because it's perfect regarding the ATP number of tennis-men/xomen and any tournament mode are available.

We needs more demo like 15 to 10 years before especially for sports and fighting games as it will be more a repetitive process everytime you will launch the game.

Just for info, on the PS Store Top Spin 2k25 standard edition price is only 27,4 euros (drop from january special offers) instead of 74.99
On physical you can get it to 59.99 euros but it's still half of the price. It's a nice game, not arcade like i've read here and there but more accessible. But when you want to become very very strong, you will see that it's far from behind an Arcade game.
(Still, i prefers TS4 due to the roster simply + i created all players i needed like Tsonga etc.)

Personally i took Tennis Elbow 4 as i found gameplay vids pretty cool + the system is very similar as my beloved Virtua Tennis for example about the power to put on the ball (pushing just at the right moment your oponnent counter your strike) and some others stuffs.
I don't care about GFX but i found the models in 2k25 not better than in a small engine like Tennis Elbow. Only Tiebreak seems to get real ressembling from the current-gen players, but TE4 reproduction seems less goofy than TS2k25.

Well i don't care that much about players modelisation, more about their skills, and also all behavior in every aspect which will makes them looks unique.
Gameplay i'll see, animations are important to me but i know that Tennis Elbow 4 is "in built" and they will soon improve it with some motion capture (from what i read here or on YT by the lone guy behind that game)

About Tiebreak i didn't wanted to buy again a Tennis game more than 20-30 euros and my PC is good enough but less powerfull than my PS5, i only use it for some dated games, from 2005 to 2020 maximum.

With sliders, you can really change the way the CPU plays. When the speed is too low, you will see the CPU made many slices. If you speed up the game, it will be far more agressiv.
You can réel now the différences kind of speed. Indoor clay are faster than outdoor clay venues. It's really nice.

I post my last videos with my sliders
