Sony PlayStation 4

Just went round to the shop I pre-ordered it from. Just missed out on the latest delivery but I'll be in the next one (2nd in the list) which shoild be the end of this week or early next week. Should have it for xmas! Whooo.

It's a great system, thankfully the audio returned to my recordings, not sure why that happened....oh well.

By the way I know 3D gaming gets pretty much zero love on here but I tried the demo of Trine 2 and with the 3D settings ramped up to maximum, it's absolutely incredible. Best 3D I've ever seen, anywhere. It now runs at 60fps and in 720p (a vast upgrade from PS3, it's lower than 1080p because it's way more demanding on the game to run 3D) but you feel like you could reach our and grab stuff in the screen, it's absolutely stunning.

I'm buying it just for the purdy 3D graphics frankly. Plus, as a PS+ member you get nearly a third off the price! Now all I need is another dualshock 4 because my gf was so impressed by it, she wants to play co-op! :D

And coincidentally I ordered FIFA last night just to make sure I had it for next week when I was expecting the ps4 to arrive, that will come in the post today aswell! Wooohoo
 
Same... but still contemplating.

I'm so intrigued by the idea of a new awesome gaming device that is currently in the market, and I really get excited getting such a device. New, unbox it, check the cables even though they're nothing new, check the controller, check the device itself, check out everything in the box, smell the odor of new tech :LOL: Connect everything, power it on, anticipate the booting with a drool :LOL: Discover everything in it.

So geeky.

But, that's it. I'm not all that big on the games. Not sure this is worth getting now.

Those are the exact reasons I enjoyed getting mine on launch day. Everything from waiting on my day off work, signing for it from the postman, to unboxing, handling the new controller, going through all the UI stuff etc. I think I had mine on for an hour before actually booting up a game!

Just buy one if you have the opportunity. Even if you're a bit 'meh' about the games out right now, there will be awesome games, and soon. I was a bit, well, not excited before it arrived but I've loved using my PS4 since. If anything for those lovely 1080p graphics.

Actually, speaking of 1080p, my TV had been on a sharpen setting of about 40/100 because anything further on my PS3/360 produced horrible white lines outlining everything because it was over-sharpened. On my PS4, with 1080p, I can ramp it up to 70 or more and it just extracts crazy amounts of detail in the graphics. Gotta love that 1080p! :D
 
Can't wait, showered tonight so I'm all fresh and pretty for its arrival tomorrow!

Gonna hook it all up with the onboard HDD and check it works, then dismantle it and see if I can get my 2tb 3.5" 7200RPM SSHD working with it :)
