Sony PlayStation 3

I've looked at the release lists and I wouldn't mind MGS4 and the new Getaway, possibly LittleBigPlanet. That's three games (including future releases) - so for the forseeable future, I would only be interested in three games. Not worth £400+ for three games - not even worth £300.

Whereas with a Wii, I would want to have a go at everything (which is the reason I've not used the PSP in something like a year, and yet I'm on the DS at least once a week playing something).

Ok Sony have released the 1.7 firmware today, apparently lots of the games with backwards compatability issues are now working well. Was wondering if anyone could test PES6.

:applause: \\:o/ :applause:

About time, 80-90 quid was far too much for basically a splitter box.

I am having an odd issue at the moment guys. At present I dont have an internet connection at home (since I moved in with the missus) it will be a little while before I get one. So I went to my parents house and used their broadband and followed the instructions on Sony's website to download the correct 1.70 US firmware update for my US PS3, I even took the trouble of making sure my SD Memory Card was freshly formatted as required. I also created the directory structure as the site tells you to...

Now when I follow the instructions to try and execute the update the machine says "No Applicable Update Data Found"..... I tried it again the day after formatting the SD Memory Card again and it still didnt work..... Any ideas?

I can't stand the online faciltites with the PS3. The 360 is so simple to use in comparison and the user interface works like a dream after trying Sony's product.

Tom Clancy goes strategy in EndWar

Ubisoft reveals it's long-speculated Clancy franchise under construction at the Shanghai studio

Ubisoft has revealed the long-speculated latest entry in the Tom Clancy series, EndWar, a strategy game set on the backdrop of World War III.

The game is being lead by Ubisoft's Shanghai studio and Clancy veteran Michael de Plater, and is set to release on next-gen consoles in fiscal year 2007/2008.

According to Ubisoft EndWar was built from the ground up for consoles to "push the standards of technology, showcasing artificial intelligence, graphics, physics and animations that were not possible prior to the launch of the new hardware systems."

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

I've never really thought of a glorified webcam as "sweet"... :eh: Another gimmick if you ask me (I don't want to see the face of some eight-year-old spitting vitriol and screaming "GHEYLORD LOL"), but as long as it's not required to play the games then it doesn't matter I suppose.

I hear they're developing a "premium" version with two cameras for 3D vision:

OLD

PREMIUM

The premium version is far more mechanical and has more parts so there's more to go wrong, though. Testing isn't going so well, every time they make an alteration and power it up, it goes "EEEEEEHEEEEEE".
