Despite published reports, next week's DLC isn't actually the Pixies (that comes the week of June 24th). Instead we have two tracks from Avenged Sevenfold, a track from The Offspring, and a track from Crooked X.

Release date: Tuesday, June 17, 2008 (Xbox LIVE® Marketplace)

DAMNIT!

I installed a new HDD in my PS3 a few days ago, thought it had backed everything up ... it hadn't backed up my Rock Band songs! :censor: :censor:

Takes AGES downloading all of these again!!

Well, I would download them but something is saying I can't download through my US account. I tried through the RB store and it says there's a problem and to go through the PS Store, so I tried the PS Store and it doesn't even give me an option to download any of the songs I've already bought :censor:

You *should* be ok.

When I installed a new HDD, I used the PS3s own 'Backup/Restore' facility and though it took a while, it saved EVERYTHING.

But, in your account (on the PS3, not RB), in the store, you should be able to see 'Download History' or something like that. In there should be all the songs you downloaded.

Yeah, I had to go through "Download history" instead of just being able to click on the song and click to download again. Some of the way PS Store is set up really is a load of shit, I must say.

Activision has plans to add a trio of Coldplay songs to Guitar Hero 3 this Thursday, including a track from the recently released "Viva la Vida" album.

That song is "Violet Hill", the one where they go for a walk in the country and end up singing outside that house with a strong drum part beating throughout.

Not as good as the one on that Apple advert if you ask us. The album is out now in the UK, incidentally.

The other two tracks are "Yellow" and "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face".

Activision says both PS3 and 360 will be given the songs at the same time, but we expect the European PlayStation Store to have its usual week-long delay.

Guitar Hero 3 packs usually cost 500 Points (GBP 4.25 / EUR 6.00) on Live Marketplace, and GBP 3.99 on the PlayStation Store.

I really would've expected EA to have signed up some more acts, good signing by Activision there. Would've loved to play those songs in RB :((

Its gonna get stupid now other makers are bringing out similar games

You will have certain bands/songs that will be exclusive to a certain game and whichever takes off the other could be left by the wayside

Yup, "God put a smile on your face" would have been awesome in Rockband - similar to "Wonderwall".

Getting a bit peed off with the slow leak of songs from RB - usually from artists I couldnt give a toss about. I mean they are releasing some really obscure stuff. Even songs from known bands are getting some of their worst songs released. Would it have been that hard to have "Apply some pressure" from Maximo Park?

They need to start releasing some popular songs. I've not downloaded any DLC for weeks and weeks.

That said, I'm probably just bitter after getting my hopes dashed for 'Doolittle' this week :(

I wouldn't say it's bitter, RB seems to have lost its way a bit with DLC. It's all good and well releasing regular DLC but if it's not what people are after, then what's the point? So they can boast about how many DLC songs they have? Meh!

What happened to the Metallica full album that was meant to come out? Why no more Foo Fighters?

Sounds like 'Whos Next' isnt gonna happen as The Who have lost/had stolen half of the master recordings needed for the game.

Also, 'Nevermind' from Nirvana was due out.

I know they cannot rush all the DLC out and flood the market (though I wish they would - imagine and iTunes sized store for Rockband!), but I think they can up the ante from '3 songs' a bit.

Its not as if by releasing more than 3 songs people have to make a choice there and then. I've gone back and brought older DLC and people are buying this game all the time, so they will look back and get any DLC they fancy.

Maybe they are saving it all till the game is finally out in all territories for all systems.

Pah...

a whole pixies album is comming out next week.. should be pretty good... and i got the jimmy buffet pack, great stuff...
