Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £133 total from Play.com

There are some seriously good songs out for DLC at the moment guys! :DD
I've spent literally fifty quid on DLC for the PS3 version - including the game and the instruments that means I've spent £230 on it so far. Talk about needing your head looked at...

OMG I love the intro to this!!, Fucking superb drumming song

Man this is gonna be awesome!!!! Genetically superior bro!

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Nah, PBB, the down-strum feels very different to the up-strum and I've definately noticed it's not responding to various strums. I've seen a link where you can replace the strum-bar and people on the RB forums who've tried it are swearing by it.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

My star power is very hit and miss... more towards miss and miss. But i tend to use the select button with my little finger as i always lose myself when i tilt the guitar up and miss notes.

My drums feel fine, though the red pad ... and this might just be my mind being paranoid of having dodgy kit... seems to miss notes 1 in every 100.

I think it's more me than the kit though because at other times i have completely lost the rhythm and im hitting the drums about a second too early or late - and ill be cursing the kit and then ill realize ive slipped into the tempo of the guitar.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

The red pad is the one that's hit the most, right?

It seems as if the RB kit is pretty shoddy and needs mods to make the drums and guitar a bit more durable. Seeing as I don't have a warranty, I'm not fussed about opening up either and making adjustments.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Yeah the red pad on the far left

and im in the same boat - if my kit ever gets to the point where i think 'what the hell? i hit that!' - ill just crack the bugger open and fix it myself.

If it lasts until the PS3 version is released over here i might be a dodgy geezer and pick up that kit, then take my older imported kit in and say its shite or its not working properly can i have a credit note refund

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

 I like your thinking ;))

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Haha, genius Rad :)).

Play.com are now showing Band in a Box and Rock Band (Solus) as in stock so wonder when they will be posted...

Just checked my account and my order is now "Processing" :)).

Hmm, i can't really justify shelling £140 on a game that really only i'm gonna play. My mates offered to sell me GH3 w/ guitar for £30 - so i think i'll make do with that until i move into a flat with my mate later on this year...then i'll make him pay half :)

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this game if they're only going to play it on their own 99% of the time.

The game NEEDS at LEAST 2 players so you can play the band world tour mode (which is the main mode in the game)

On your own you can still have fun - its just like guitar hero where you do a solo career and play 5 songs, unlock 5 more, beat them unlock more etc...

But once thats over you're just playing for high scores and a bit of cash to customize your character - and £140 is too much for that

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

But I can get a mic stand and play lead guitar and vocals, thus being eligible for the World Tour mode right?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Yes you can - harder than it looks though, reading the words and looking where the notes are.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

im going to be so bad at this!! cant wait!

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

I bet it fuckin is ROCK hard.

:lmao: I crack myself up at times :)).

Hmm trying to set up an entropay account and the bloody activation link they're sending me won't work.

I'll have to get a idtprime card i guess but i really don't want to have to keep going out and buying one every so often.

whats the most you can put on one and how do you activate it/use it?

You can put as much as you like on it, but it costs £3 for the card. To activate you phone the number that's stuck on the back of the card with an "activation code" on it. It's a freephone number.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Why don't you just set up a credit card with your XBL account. Much easier surely?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

The Rock Band we've ordered off play.com, the Rock Band: Band in a Box for £99.99. Are the instruments wireless?

We have the PS3 US version, meaning you have to use a credit card with no address on it (if it sees you're in the UK it won't let you buy the songs).

I'd get the 360 version but I've already spent £50 on songs, I'm not buying them all again.

Yea, thats what I do (Billy no mates) and its superb. I love singing anyway, so its a good challenge.

BUT, it does screw the game up when you dont know a song (or know it well enough to not really need to read the words). About 10% of the songs I dont know well enough and I've reached a kind of 'ceiling' in the game where I cannot progress the World Tour mode as I cannot pass some of the songs.

I keep meaning to downlo.. BUY the songs that I cannot do, stick them on my iPod and learn the words etc - or just practice them singing only in the game.

But, meh, cant be arsed...

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

When is this gonna be patched for World Tour online play guys?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Whooo got entropay to work - time to piss away a load of money now

"When is this gonna be patched for World Tour online"

God knows - all the devs ever said was they were working on it... but it doesn't mean it will ever happen. They can always come back and say 'we cant do it for this game... but check out RockBand 2 on sale April 2009'

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Ah, oh right :((. I thought that it was definately confirmed.

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Does anyone know if this game works with a pad?

Guitar Hero 2 and 3 did so wanna know if RB does

can someone test it for me on the drum part ;))

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

No the game detects the pad as a microphone - though you can use your pad to navigate some menus including the shop, the create a logo area and i think the main menus.

-

Entropay is great - i put £15 on my card and they only charged me 74p which i didn't think was too bad as it saved me £3 buying the idtprime card

Yea I use Entropay now - I like the 'no-limit' loading - for all intents and purposes, an IDT card costs £23 due to having to pre-load £20 at sale.

you talking 360 or PS3?

Re: Rock Band - Harmonix, 360 / PS3 - £132.98 total from Play.com

Well on the PS3 i can confirm the pad won;t play as an instrument - though i assume its the same on the 360 - ive not seen anyone on the official rockband forums say otherwise
