Red Dead Redemption [PC/PS3/360]

how big is the game world? as big as gta4?

Don't know about the stats, but it just feels massive and never ending because of it's wide open world.

Absolutely love the ecological animal kingdom in this game. The hunting is a game on it's own.

Same to say about the mini games, playing poker, blackjack, liar's dice, horseshoe throwing, all games in itself.

Merge those with the improved Euphoria and R.A.G.E engine and the jaw-dropping scenery and weather effects; and you've got the best game ever to grace a console!

I'm addicted 2 RDR. :)

I don't get Liar's Dice. I've tried but I don't get it.

This is what I understand:

You make a bet on how many dies there are, and someone can call you out to test your bet, and if you're wrong, you lose a dice. Correct?

Liar's dice is great fun, was really confusing at first but simple after it all clicked, it's really about a mixture of logical thinking and guessing :)

Well I think they lie. I don't think it's that huge.
It doesnt take long to go from one end to another, because you don't have buldings and streets but it's big enough. You can go everywhere.

I also started to think it was not as huge, but then I tried to follow the river from one end to the other, then going from the northest to the southest place... and it really felt the journey of a life. It IS massive, but due to most of it being desertic, it seems to be smaller than it really is.

Love to jump from my room in armadillo in the secondth floor straight to my horse's seat.

You have to play this game as a RPG. I love trying things only for the fun of it. And I love the strangers pseudo-missions, hunting, and everything out of the "official missions". This is the way to go for sandboxes, making structures less rigid.

The only drawback is that in the "narrative" side, the game sometimes it's great and sometimes weak. Some of the cutscenes in the missions are great and some have predictable dialogues and outcomes.

But it is a gem of a game!

PS: I loved the way you arrive to Mexico.

Red Dead Redemption

What an ending.
95.3% 68h... but I'm sure I've played a lot less, I don't think the clock really works.

8+/10

Finished the game (well everything but the monotonous collectible tasks :TTTH:). Fantastic game overall, great soundtrack/atmosphere and a superb story yet again from Rockstar, as tuta says, what an ending! The only negative would be the controls are awkward, I actually found it easier to control Marsden on horseback than when walking/running with him. The amount of times I've fallen off ledges or into the water (which instantly kills for some reason ) is too many to count. The side missions were enjoyable aswell, thank god.
Love how you get to play as his son afterwards, I'm guessing the DLC will be based around his son's revenge??
.

Overall 8/10 because of the control issues.

---------

68hrs, tuta? It only took me 28hours to get 90% complete (that's all the story and side missions) and I'd say only 17hrs for the actual story - what were you doing?.

So how do you know which horse's are the best when you see wild ones roaming about?

and i heard about panning for gold when i saw a preview but i aint heard anyone mention it, is it even in?

Panning for gold isn't in.

I prefered the all black/all white horses. I didn't even bother to look at the stats, I finished all the races in first without breaking a sweat so I wouldn't worry. Just go for the horse you like the best.

I want more music in the game... I'm talking about those moments where you get full on music with lyrics or instruments playing randomly rather than the background music you get.

How do you bring up the stats of your horses and other horses? I cant seem to find it.

Just finished it.

 Can't believe they killed my hero, he was so cool. I did shoot his wife and brother in the head though.

Is that just the stats you want or how do you find a list of your horses?

I can't find either so I'm hoping someone answers that question too

Both. I want to know what my current horses stats are as well as a comparison of others.

Anyone completed level 10 sharpshooter?

Go to Blackwater. There, you can climb on a roof. Take some medics with you and some dead eye refill just in case. I chose the 22 bullets rifle to do it.

Then kill someone to get the cops. From this position, you're almost untouchable and if you keep pressing LT (even when you need a medecine) you will do it easily. But do not reload, keep pressing LT, dead eye the weapons and take your time.
Took me 2 minutes to do it.

Press LT, always, or press it before he reloads I don't remember, but you have to find a way to avoid reloading by using LT. You just have to try. If you do that you are not losing bullet for some reason.

This game is great. Just wandering through Mexico, with a great storm that lasted a full day, with the music and my horse. I love just wandering around pretending I'm the gunslinger without a name.

You wearing a poncho? ;)

Doubting that is an offense LOL... :SMUG:

In fact, the poncho is great because wind affects it a lot and when having stormy weather you can see your hair and your poncho waving.

There is an awesome ammount of details everywhere. It's the best "open world" I've played by far, lots of things happen. Today someons approached me. I was ready to fire some in his head, but he came to say that he was thankful I had saved his wife some time ago, and he gave me some money. I escorted him on his way back to town, I liked the man.

When it rains, there are practically no birds in the sky and when Marston moves his head, there's water dripping from his hat.

It's just great and the original soundtrack, that at first I thought it was simply good, now I find it great. The Jose Gonzales them is awesome to be the "riders on the storm".

For anyone who loves classic Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns there can only be one outfit to wear and that's the poncho, which I'm also wearing and will finish the whole game wearing!

Yeah I noticed that as well about rain collecting in the hats and dripping off, very impressie small touch :)
