Real Madrid Thread

i hate real madrid and Barca....its a farcical league. 2 teams who get paid millions more euro in tv revenue than everyone else.

how is that fair??

boring league, when was last time a different team won it? Valencia all them years ago I think??

remove RM & CB from la liga and imagine how many person in the whole world will watch it..
then, you'll know why they get paid more than the others ..

That is total bullshit.
I think more people will watch it. It will become the best league in the world.
In the long term Real Madrid and Barcelona are destroying theirselves.

At the moment Real Madrid are 5 points behind Barcelona. Do you realize that the way things went the last 3 years, La Liga is already decided? And for once try to view it objectively, not as a fan of one of both clubs. I would say the same thing if it was the ohter way round. Real Madrid and Barcelona are way too strong for the other team. Last season Barcelona failed against some other clubs, this year it was Madrid. But they will never fail both, they are too strong for that. So you have a league with only two clubs who can win it. A league that is organized in a way that only those two clubs can win it.

What will happen? All the good players form the other teams will either try to go to Madrid or Barcelona or either go to foreign clubs. Between this and 5 seasons Barcelona and Madrid will be like Rangers and Celtic in their own league. In 10 years they will be like Rangers and Celtic in Europe: minnows. You will say that they are too big for that scenario? Rangers and Celtic are also huge clubs....

If things continue like this, the future for Spanish football looks very dark (and i haven't even mentioned the financial crisis in Spain).

Thats just your opinion!

Atletico Madrid is looking great, Bilbao did splash in last LE, Valencia & Sevilla good teams...

Yeah they're good teams but they'll get nowhere near Barca and Real as per every year.

La Liga is just a higher quality SPL. (well, before Rangers went tits up).

I really don't know why the other teams even bother.

Well I was talking about league being interesting to watch and not boring like he said.. Other teams bother because they've been doing it for ages :)

Something is wrong in the camp....for awhile I heard it being a split btw spanish n portugese speaking players. Well 3 spanish n 3 speaking portugeesers. Mou is being accussed of favourtism. If true its sad...in the summer they all looked happy banging goals.

that was the story last season. But now, Mou said that he has 2 or 3 players for which football is not in the first place and that they don't work hard enough. I don't know who is he speaking of and I wouldn't like to start guessing.

Starting to get nervous about tomorrow night now.

I fancy us on the counter but we're gonna have to defend really well.

Could be a high scoring game as both defenses look dodgy atm

I would agree with your statement Godotelli, but league and CL are so different. Both teams could have a solid defense then, have a dodgy defense in the league. Look ,no further to Chelsea ...So , I think a 1-1 with lots of chances for both sides.btw RM lost 2 matches to City 'zero' :COAT:

Ronaldo falling out at the start of the season, Mourinho's probably got one eye on his next job.

I don't think the league is the priority this year anyway, all eggs in the 10th European Cup basket.

What a half by madrid, although arguably valencia without alot of there first team/defence, di maria is in part's what is wrong with modern football though, never seen someone go down and roll around with such little contact

so, we can start preparing ourselves (both team and us, fans) for next season. In my opinion we need 3 things for better season:
1. New right back. If there is none available than put Ramos back to right back with Pepe and Varane as centerbacks
2. New striker. If some great strikers are not available than I think Morata should get more chances. He is still young, but he has shown his talent this season
3. Mourinho to stay as a coach. To elaborate this I need a bit more space than for first 2:

To be 100% honest, I don't really like him. He is arrogant, he thinks that he is the best and that because of that he can do whatever he wants. I don't care about fake moral and I don't even want to start talking about moral here. I just don't like people with that kind of thinking. But, to the extent, he has results behind him as justification for his manners.
But one has to ask himself: Is there any better coach available? The answer is NO, at least IMO. Before he came to Madrid team was like sheeps withou shepherd. They were afraid of Barcelona, they haven't gone through 1/8 Final in CL for 6 years...and in 3 years now we are not afraid of Barca anymore, we have been in semi-finals of CL 3 years in a row, we have won at least a trophy in every season with Mourinho as a coach. For me, that is reason enough to continue with him.

And its ok to you, that next season Casillas would sit behind Lopes?

Sorry to disagree Cuky, but the main reason to be semifinalists of the CL for 3 consecutive years is that you have the most expensive squad ever assembled in football, with great players all around and a deep and solid bench.

Mourinho actually has shown he is very limited in terms of tactics and not very resourceful when things didn't go as planned. He's a great motivator and this works for 1-2 years, but then players get burned and collide with him. It happens every time due to his management style.

To have a team that costed +400 M€ and win only a league and a domestic cup in 3 years is not really something to brag about. Not to mentioon how Mourinho has divided the fan base (I know lots of Madrid fans that totally hate Mourinho and what he has done to the club) and the players themselves. Consider the poor image that will leave behind, with players, press and fans angry with him. Never in history Real had been so hated in all Spain, 10 years ago it was cheered in all stadiums, now is booed.

Personally, I think Real Madrid and Bayern have the best squads in Europe and if the transfers that are rumored come true this summer (Bale, Aguero or another top striker and a right back) frankly I don't know who will be able to stop them next season, WHOEVER sits in the bench.

They talk of Ancelotti, but I think Joachim Low would do wonders to Real.

Well, it is not strange that RM has one of the most expensive squads ever, especially when Florentino Perez is in charge. But saying that nobody could stop them whoever sits on the bench is a bit...well off. It has been told for Barcelona (even I did say that sometimes) that Guardiola isn't that good manager and that it is easy to win everything with team like one he had in Barça. And than we saw with Tito that it is not really like that. They won the league yes, but it doesn't look like Barcelona from only year ago.

And as I said before, I am not Mou's fan and I wasn't really happy when it was confirmed that he will take RM bench in 10/11 season. But he got us some wins, trophies and courage against Barcelona which has been lost for a few years. Yes, he is arrogant, yes he is always in conflict with those who don't think like him, but he is one damn good manager.

But, if he must leave than it is time for Perez to do good job and hire someone even if he has to spend some money for him. As you said, Low would be great. Also, I would like to see Capello back as I still feel it was unfair to sack a man in season in which he won them a title.

Well I exagerated ehen I said whoever sits there will win, obviously, dont take it literally. But I mean that Mourinho may be a big motivator and a good manager for short term projects, but he is overrated tactically and considering the players that are in the squad, as I said, I think Ancelotti, Low or Klopp would take the team to the next level. Similarly to Barcelona, the team depends too much on Cristiano and is too keen on athletism and counterattack. That's why I think the best for Madrid is that Mourinho leaves and the club can start a new season fresh and forgetting all the inner wars that Mourinho himself has created.

Putting it like that, I can see your point there. But I don't really like Ancelotti. Maybe I am underrating him, but he isn't top class manager in my opinion. If Mourinho leaves I would like to see Klopp, Löw or Capello again at Bernabeu
