Real Madrid Thread

I don't agree with rest of you. The season is FAR from over. Too many matches still left to call this done and dusted and league over.

Of course after this result though, Real and Mourinho's job is a LOT tougher now. Having said that, Barca will suffer losses too and not just to Real Madrid possibly in 2nd leg but to at LEAST another team between now end of season. Mark my words. They're great but they're not unbeatable. And many things can happen between now and then... injuries, suspensions, luck.... etc.

But yes most likely now (80% - not 100% ) Barca are now champs. :)

p.s. Benzema looked pretty sharp today. Looks to have recovered most of his speed, the balance and strength is still there as well as the good two-foot (nice left foot on him as well as right) and he looked like the old Benzema almost. Didn't score but he was a danger and looked quite sharp.

Barcelona might face Real 4 times in April. Now that will be epic. Imagine the media pressure then.

Yeah it would :)

@Das ist das!

Cups aren't Mourinho's speciality; leagues are. Mourinho league consistency - works in every league, except in this one now. Up to january, at least.

Mourinho won the league every year [except 2007]; ok, technically his score in league/meaningful cups is 6-6, but let's not forget there are two cups every year [domestic - european]

8 coaching years - 6/8 leagues, 6/16 cups

Thinking back on my previous post now... I think maybe that 80% is even more like 85% because while I do believe, Barca will lose at least one game between now and end of season, who's to say Real won't lose more? I think both teams are capable of losing as Real demonstrated today and so while Barca might even drop points from now till end, REal will probably drop even more so the 7 point advantage is likely to be quite good now.

Personally, I think that only injuries can break us. If Messi, Iniesta or Xavi get injured, we can quickly loose all those points.

The important thing is not to loose any point until facing Real Madrid. And then simply don't loose at Bernabeu. To me, that would mean the title. If we loose more points than Real before the Bernabeu match, then there's league left.

On paper, Barca are the champs. Still, nothin is impossible. Atletico may give their neighbour a gift next week.
Then It's the classico. Real should wait for some other flaws from Barca & fight till death though.
But looking to the kind of football that the Catalans introduce, they are the worthiest of the title for sure.

Yep that should really be the end of that, Barcelona will drop points but Real are likely to drop more.

"Get him on a plane, Bring him back from Spain" ;))

seriously what´s up with Mourinho there..he looks like old broken man..

Mourinho doesn't seem happy at all. He has problems with Valdano and it grew a lot when Mourinho insisted on a striker and Valdano refused but in the end Mourinho always gets what he wants and surely he was right. Benzema has lost his focus and is not a reliable in big games anymore.

I think Benzema played much much better than Ronaldo yesterday. He contributed with 2 great assists, did a lot of moves and passed the ball really well. Plus, he did a lot of pression to Sevilla back four.

He simply didn't score, but to me that's not an important detail. Ronaldo missed greater chances than him.

He did two assists to Ronaldo, letting him alone vs the goalkeeper. If that isn't an assist and doesn't count as good passing and vision, then I don't know what would!

"Even a broken clock is right twice a day."

Your obsession about Ronaldo makes you remember only those positions or rather I don't want to think that you didn't watch the full-match as you seem that confident. In general of the match, Benzema has sucked as usual, he's seemt to have had neither vision nor communication with teammates, let alone his 'good' passing. He was usually in the wrong position and his timing and finishing was just awful. I've no obsession or no bias towards him, I believe that he's a world class talent but he can't do the business under Real Madrid's system, however, I think that players like him would suit RM most. To sum up, Mourinho is such a patient guy. :P

Not that I want to mean Ronaldo was awesome and Benzema sucks. Ronaldo, too was just as poor as Benzema considering his talents. If it goes like that, he's gonna make some people happier and happier. I think he surely needs a rest nowadays!

Ronaldo, too was bad.
Ronaldo, too was poor.
Ronaldo, too was awful.
Ronaldo, too was terrible.
Ronaldo, too was a disgrace.
Ronaldo, too sucked last night.

I didn't watch this 2nd leg so don't know how he played but he did score the only goal and a very important one for them in 1st leg and even in the recent Osasuna match where they lost, he looked very sharp... fast goood balance.. two good feet... at times this season he HAS looked like the real deal and the old Benzema. And yes at times he has been poor... looked not as fast and out of focus.

I think both people have a case. Those who like him and those who don't. But people who constantly criticize him might be a little harsh. Just because a striker doesn't score a goal doesn't mean he played bad. It's about how dangerous he looks and how much the defenders worry about him, etc.

Anyway, I think he and Higuain are both TOP class strikers. Two of the very best in the world, just Karim hasn't had the best form in past year and had some minor injuries which didn't help him settle in new club/country.....

That's crazy ball control.

But that picture above summed him up. When he's losing, he becomes a child and cant be bothered. I mean, he'll fight if he knows he can do it, but you can obviously see at 2-0 to Barca he's already given up.
