Real Madrid Thread

Raul has to start, no two ways about it. Benzema and Raul uptop or Raul uptop with Benzema on the bench. Also I doubt they'll get Ribery until next year. Bayern doing pretty much exactly what we did last summer.
 
Real seriously need to get over Raul. Don't get me wrong, great player in his day and a bit of a legend but his legs have gone now. He can still do a job as a super sub I'm sure, but can they really justify him starting? Particularly in light of all the new names?
 
He's god in Madrid though.

I remember a manager (think it was Camacho) benched him for a game and he was sacked the next week, and this was 2005 I think when Raul was just shite.

He might not have the legs anymore, but the last two seasons he's scored at least 15 goals, and with Kaka, Ronaldo, Ribery and whoever else around him, he really shouldn't need to run much,

Platini: Real Madrid spending "not normal"

There is something "not normal" about the huge sums of money spent by clubs like Real Madrid in the transfer market, said UEFA president Michel Platini on Thursday.

Real took their recent spending spree to around 215 million Euros when they signed French forward Karim Benzema from Olympique Lyon on Wednesday.

Benzema will follow Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian playmaker
Kaka and Spanish defender Raul Albiol to the Bernabeu Stadium.

"Does the club making such enormous transfers have the money or not?," Platini asked in an interview in Thursday's French sports daily L'Equipe.

"The Ronaldo transfer, personally, puts a question to me, but then, if Real has a guarantee from banks....

"Personally, I can't understand that you can spend 90 million Euros on a player," Platini added. "But I remember the transfer of (Diego) Maradona from Barcelona to Naples (in 1984). It must have been for the equivalent of 6.5 million Euros and people already found it indecent.

"I think there's something not normal in there. I don't like all that, and even less the fact that today, contracts are being signed only to be breached. But then again, if the clubs have the money, what can I do?"

Thing is Platini can't do anything when Blatter is in control. Amazingly just 3 weeks ago Blatter said the Ronaldo deal was good for the game as it meant the biggest names our still in demand :SS He then last week after Man City bid for Eto'o said the spending of English clubs is not right.
 
just something I was thinking.. isnt Real gonna sell or loan some offensive players?
I mean, Kaká, Ronaldo and Benzema are coming, Ribery and Villa can too..
and u already have Robben, V.Nistelrooy, Raul, Huntelaar and Higuain

so some players will have to leave
 
Ruud can't be sold because he wont recover from his injury until mid September.
 
Blatter is member of Real Madrid, he's always be and he has always defended anything madrid-related. Same as Madrid's region government, right-wing party PP, that makes businesses with florentino and already gave them 700 M€ last time for some terrains that were priced at 1/10 of the price the community spent. So, they are all some kind of thieves. If this happened to my club, I would be angry and would be shouting in the steets against that. Public money CAN'T be a toy in hands of clubs.
 
So did they just hand him the last Ronaldo's shirt? I bet he made a big fuss about not getting #7 off Raul.

Nothing he does at Real Madrid, and nothing he's done at United since will top when he sent Ashley Cole on his arse by going one way then the other.

That was pure genius and couldn't have been done to anyone nicer...
 
well in Man utd he had to prove a lot of things now he did that he can play more comfortably. He certainly had glimpse in his eyes , maybe hes thinking about that 80mil?

i know uefa and fifa are both against england

i think with man city blatter is upset because they have not done anything to really earn the money, i mean have they really been succesful domestically or in europe recently. real madrid r usually good so this is just them being competetive. this is probably his opinion but idk hes a weird fellow

edit: ronaldo wow what an idiot never liked him. kaka is brilliant tho lot of respect for his skill
 
My lord. I just don't get the Madridstas or whatever they're called. That's fully mental. For a 24 year old footballer? Really? 80,000 fans came to welcome him?

Still you have to give him some credit, he plays the movie-star role very well. How he's changed from the pimply little teenager that showed up in Manchester 6 years ago.

Madrid actually are pretty much the same as City though. Franco did the same thing that City are doing know.
 
They really are stupid, aren't they?

They can meet the ridiculous prices necessary for Ronaldo, Kaka and Benzema, yet they are not willing to pay a more realistic price (£30m) for Alonso, someone who is a LOT more necessary to them if they are going to challenge Barcelona next season, compared with the Galacticos Mk II.

Did they not learn from what happened when they weren't willing to give Makelele a pay rise, that he deserved?

I dream of going to the moon, I would luv it if one of my grandchildren does it (most likely be dead though :LOL: ) But I`ll take any of my family playing for Arsenal even if it`s the reserves oh My dad is a Real Madrid fan, me Arsenal and sons Lpool so we are dysfunctional :LOL:
