Real Madrid Thread

i'm not saying schuster has no responsabilities at all.

what i'm trying to say is that it's really hard to be real madrid's coach. it's really hard to take the right decisions in madrid, coz even if u'll win, even if your decisions will result to be the right decisions, this could still be "not enough" for the whole madrid's establishment (the media, the fans and the board), as fabio's experience proved.

capello was the only one who had the guts to go against everybody in madrid (media, fans and the board), and he also achieved some great results..... but still, look at what happened to him...

you are spot on, it really is a tough job...

calderon is probley the worst person in football to work for, what a twat!

at least barca had the balls to get a top young coach and give him full backing..

Schuster sacked! The spanish press is expecting Juande Ramos as a replacement.

After some bad results, just a few days ago Schuster said it is impossible to beat Barça at Camp Nou. That was it for him.

10 games suspension.
Don't really know if it is a little over the top or reasonable, considering the kind of thing that Pepe did, that was just monstrous.

Pepe is crazy but Casquero is a cheater too...

If we were going to look at things like that Ronaldo and Gerrard would be retired a LONG time ago...

So would Messi ;)) But yeh no doubt I think its a fair punishment. Theres no place for that in football disgraceful stuff.

Man you can't put money on Casillas at Real Madrid. Could have conceded 12 goals.

Anyway, looks like a new Galacticos is bing built with I think Ibra to be the beginning.

Thats would be weird, yet the motivation is there since i already heard him say that the spanish football interests him, i was kinda suspicious about that argument, seemed like an agreement was being made in the process, so i wouldn't be That Wow'ed if the transfers ends up happening.
Still, Real is pretty messed up, building a Galacticos from scratch won't work well cous there aren't that many raising superstars nowadays, and the ones that are don't want to move cous they aare comfortable where they play, so a "Figo way" transfer seems kinda impossible atm.

I think they'll do a big clear out this summer. A good example is Huntelaar was just signed and I can see him being off as well as another 6-7. I can see 2-3 big names coming in, Ibra, Kaka, Ribery, Cesc, are ones they'll target and think they can get.

Well they definitely need superstars. Not because they have the money to do so, but because they really need some. The only star players on their team are Casillas, Robben and Ramos.

Most probably they are after Ibra and Ronaldo as reported, but Tevez is a good possibility if Ronaldo fails. But what will happen to Huntelaar and RVN then.

They need some good defenders. Ramos is the only one I'd keep.

As for Midfield, well Lass is pretty good, plus they have Diarra. De La Red sadly will stop I think. Maybe another CM will do it.

Last thing, they need a PLAN. Thy can't just keep changing coaches every couple of months. You need to build a consistent group that knows how to play together and that takes time.

Well they definitely need superstars.

to be honest i believe the galacticos biggest issue in the last 5 years was that they had too many superstars :P

the truth is that this team doesn't really needs many adjustments. just a couple of signings could be enough for them to step up.

pepe didn't have his best season, but there's hope next season he'll keep improving as he did last year. cannavaro's departure is gonna leave a hole that needs to be filled up.
and i defeinitely wouldn't get rid of sergio ramos after his first disappointing season in his entire carreer.

imo their biggest issue is the lack of a playmaker in the middle of the pitch.
they have a great game on the flanks, but there's no one "creating" football, deep in their own midfield.
so the only way for them to exploit their great attacking threats is to keep the ball line high in the opponents midfield.

but this is quite a dangerous move as, in order to do this, they must keep the defensive line very high (and we all saw wich can be the consequences of this defensive strategy in the matches against liverpool and barca).

they need soneone who can design the shape of the plays at midfield (a pirlo, a xavi, a xabi alonso), as none of their current central midfielders can do that.

having said that, juande ramos did a great job so far. he completely changed real madrid since his arrival and the team had an awesome second half of the season.
this is already a very good starting point. :))

Hope they stick with him. He hasn't lost a match in La Liga till Barca. But then again, against the big teams, they got humiliated 2/2 against Barca and Liverpool.

Well we can start to discuss what Florentino will buy, since the league is ours. I think he will go for:

Sell
Salgado
Cannavaro
Robben
Van der Vaart
Saviola
Huntelaar

Buy
Ibrahimovic
Villa
Silva
Xabi Alonso
*insert center back here*

Whats your list? =]

If they are going to adopt this "Galacticos" policy again, they will need a manager, like Del Bosque previously, who is able to keep all the egos in check in the dressing room while delivering results on the pitch.
