Real Madrid Thread

i thought it was only 4million. 7million is bargain anyway the guy is a threat alot of times, very good player.

lol! 7M€? he is worth double of that at least.

But another great useless signing from RM.

exactly lol i mean did they really need another attacker.

Although Roma were robbed, 7million is a joke since they bought him for 20 million in 2000.
I know how that feels, as a LFC fan I felt we were robbed over Michael Owen. Real Madrid are good at this it seems......;)

Why did he go for so less anyway?

I think because he was causing so much trouble at the club, his contract was running out next summer and he wanted to leave.

He was on a free in the summer, it was either 7m or nothing.

Now... why did they sign him when theyve got Raul, Ronaldo, Robinho, Julio Baptista, Soldado, and now Cassano.... where will he play????

Capello didnt need him, especially since Cassano has an attitude problem. Juve already have Del Piero as a sub, and Mutu and Zalayeta, he wouldnt fit anywhere.

Centre back.

Actually, with Capello he was one of the biggest strikers in Italy, so he got the call up for Euro 2004. WHen Capello left, he kept moaning about how he missed Capello and how he wanted to join him, because Capello is his 'mentor'. He started fighting with the new coaches - Del Neri and Spalletti, aswell as the club itself.

His move to Real should be good as he can finally start playing again. Hes very quick, good dribbling, good shooting, smart passes.

Although Roma were robbed, 7million is a joke since they bought him for 20 million in 2000.

Yes got that one wrong , new there was somethign to do with Capello got it the wrong way round .

I think he is up there in the middle of Raul and Ronaldo, he is far better than the rest

Baptista is not played as a striker. Robinho is not an out and out striker. Raul is injured, lost his spark and played directly behind the strikers. Ronaldo is recovering from injury and relied upon too heavily whilst Soldado was never given a chance and never will. He's just another Portillo - wasted youth.

Cassano will probably move on eventually for a profit anyway.

Aren't RM going for another forward?
I think probably Dirk Kuyt.

What is the team record for the largest number of forwards?
Check Glasgow Rangers: Dado Prso, Nacho Novo, John Johnston, Steven Thompson, Federico Nieto, Jason Crooks, Peter Lovenkrands, Derek Carcary, Ross McCormack, Scott Agnew, Craig Frizzel and Francis Jeffers.

Kuyt already said he doesn't want to leave. Real Madrid won't be going for him or another forward I'm sure. A midfielder is what we need right now and if possible someone like Lugano but it's not likely apparently.

i think they bought cassano because ronaldo will leave in the next season.

I'm a brazilian, and i wanna know, why RM didnt buy a good defender or holding midfielder with the 200milions they spend in this season?

samuel eto'o 18 goals in 19 leaguematchs...

24 goals in 26 all matchs played (oficialy)

And just to add that i thought Zidane was terrible in the first half his touch was awful, then the 2nd half he was brilliant!

terrible? By his standards yes, I agree, but not by other standards. He was rough around the edges it would be fairer to say.

A great player. Not sure what it has to do with the current discussion though?
