Real Madrid Thread

Re: Real Madrid Thread (Figo Leaving?)

Another sorry display by Real Madrid to draw level with Villarreal (0-0).

Probably played for the draw with key players like Zinedine Zidane, Figo, Guti, Carlos and Raul out - either because of suspension, injury or simply resting in preparation for the vital champions league clash with Roma.

But really - against a side like this you expect more and they have yet to deliver.

Very disappointing - they didn't deserve to even draw being outplayed in the second half by a team that wasn't even playing that well.

...depending on who you support of course :(

Re: Real Madrid Thread (Figo Leaving?)

villareal played so well especially riquelme and deserved the 3 points imo, madrid are probably reserving their strength for teh roma game which they will hopefully win, btw if they do they will play arsenal if they qualify as well :P

Re: Real Madrid Thread (Figo Leaving?)

lol, totally agree cigol, RM were very poor indeed, best chance fell to Ronaldo, after some good work by Owen, but he'll probably be dropped (Owen that is) back to the bench for the ineffective Raul against Roma. Celades? wtfis he doing playing?

Re: Real Madrid Thread (Figo Leaving?)

meh

Roma didn't even attempt to play, what a farce - the fact we were held to a single goal in the first half and were actually pressured at times in the second is not that comforting either.

Good goals, but some fluffed chances by quite a few players and given the context of the match not that impressive (we all know they won't play remotely like this when it's actually competitive).

Raul was so hard looking for his 50th

I don't blame him, todays game couldn't of come at a better time for such an occasion. Turkey shoot or whatever the phrase is!

Didn't ever go his way though surprisingly. No clear chances for Raul.

Would be a cheap way to cap it all off though - better he does it in a competitive match where it actually counts.

I guess all that matters is that we are through. Time now to hope that by the time we get to the knock out stages a bit of stability and 'fight' in the team is restored.

he is the only true defensive midfielder we have, hes not too bad either

Re: Real Madrid Thread (Figo Leaving?)

He's okay. Cambiasso or Makelele, or Conceicao are better though.

Re: Real Madrid Thread (Figo Leaving?)

Real Madrid want a new midfield for the mercato (from this list)

Rio Mavuba (Bordeaux)
Mourad Meghni (Bologna)
Edu (Arsenal)
Mark Van Bommel (PSV Eindhoven)
Javier Mascherano (River Plate)

I don't think Real need Edu and Van Bommel because he's more of an attacking midfield than defending and i am tried of having a bunch of attacking players in the squad. Mascherano would be the greatest choice for all he's young the borne DMF and full of talent. One day he's going to be much more famous than Roy Keane!!!!!!

Yep confirmed on teletext as well. Also seems they are bringing Arrigo Sacchi in . . . Things could finally be falling apart for Real Mardrid!

Official: Wanderley Luxemburgo as new coach at Real Madrid! Wonder if robinho will follow him... either now or at end of the season! Still no matter what coach they bring, if they don't buy new player the'll fall apart...

can anyone who watches the brazil league here tell us about this new coach?

everyone in Brazil says that with a good team, full of stars he always does a wonderful job. thats how he won the Brazilian League serie A with Palmeiras in 93 and 94. (rivaldo, cesar sampaio, roberto carlos and etc were in the team), then again in 98 with corinthians (gamarra, rincon, vampeta, luizao, edilson, marcelinho) , won the copa america with Brazil in 1999, and in 2003 won the brazilian league, brazilian cup, with cruzeiro as alex his best player.

and in 2004 with santos, hehe, robinho , elano and etc.

PS: he is not the type of coach that like to defend, he likes the team very offensive, when he was the coach of corinthians, everytime that they started with the ball, the forwards started with an 1-2 pass in the direction of the goal, it was very funny, because no team expects an attack like that right at the beginning.

he is a good coach, i think he will know how to make the stars play together and show a decent football.

he´s a good coach, but as brazilian´s team coach he was a disaster, even with many soccer stars in tthe team....

Roberto Carlos probably leaving. Wants to leave to Santos in brazil.

hello juventus11, yea ive already put that on the Transfer & Rumours thread. after losing his starting position in two of real madrid's recent matches, carlos has mentioned that if he leaves, it would be to "the team of my (carlos) heart", Santos

Luxemburgo didnt do well in the natiopnal team because he cant do whatever he wants... a lot of money involved, nike, adidas... for example if he wanted to leave Ronaldo out he coudlnt... and he probably wont do good in real since hell try to put someone like Raul on thebench if theyre not doing well and people wont let him... he already suspended beckham of a practice or something like that

see, concon preto, luxemburgo will do good in europe, he will do whatever is necessary for the team to win, and thats what he did in the mini-match against sociedad. yes. lets go madrid.

real won the replay game in 7 minutes thanks to a zidane penalty after a minute of play, real was awesome in these 7 minutes btw

90% penalty, but Ronaldo wasn't having any of that leg and let's be frank, he shouldn't have to :)

Real Real we will destroy you, Luxenbro (SP) maybe be good but we are JUVENTUS, THE best team in the world.
Watch out, we will thrash you.

FORZA JUVE
