PES2010 discussion thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

The second goal is beautiful, instinctive and opportunistic. Torres improvises well after he gets lucky with the deflection. But on his least favoured foot he takes it very well. That was great accuracy, leaning back, off balance, wrong foot, finds the bottom corner nice and low. That goal looked very Shearer-esque. He re-adjusted his body quickly to set that up, basically come back on himself. There was very little power applied there, because due to Torres leaning back and on his wrong foot, that would or could of, flew over the bar.

OK, fair enough he is a top class striker and someone of his calibre is likely to spot opportunities and such, but it's just the way he scores it that doesn't sit well with me. He goes from a good bit of dribbling to losing possession after the challenge by the defender and then all of a sudden in that split second changes his body shape very quickly (whilst falling backwards off-balance I add) and then pinging it with his left foot. It just seems a bit odd and dare I say it quite scripted, even the way the ball slightly curls towards the corner of the goal as if it was destined to go in.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

It's deffo Essien in that pic behind torres, but the kit simply has a white stripe across the chest.

I've looked REAL close up.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

the big problem with the "cards" is that u keep needing to pause the game which is frustrating.

ps: if i have the card system completely messed up please tell me.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

good question.

Holy shit! Didn't this PerfectStrike freak from PesGaming (edit) mention about throw ins are just for Gamescom demo?

Anyway, Caniggia, everybody wonders about animations here, you pop up and talk about throw ins then disapear! Don't do it to us man, common!

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Guys even Caniggia's copy won't be enough to judge PES2010's final animations.

Anyway, most probs they're gonna be significantly better than any previous PES, and a lot smoother, and much less rigid... will it be like FIFA09/10? No freakin way. So put it to rest.

PES2010 the way the closed up video showed it is enough of a revolution for me. The animations looked smooth and fresh, the pace was amazing, and the graphics were mind boggling. Next year, if they change the camera angles, animate the crowds (see my suggestion), and introduce more "refinements" to gameplay, with new animations for turns and twists... I'd be one happy man.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

srry for off-topic guys, but i was wondering abt the demo? any news ?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Tbh if you think some answers are weird it's really the way they are

Q1: A slower pace for the game ?
Seabass:It's true, the general pace of the game has decreased. It's specially true since we focused on the difference of speed between players. We also thought that the game was generally too fast in previous versions.Going from a 90min (real time for a football match) to 10 minutes (the average time for a PES match),it appeared essential to slow the pace down in order to get closer to the real thing.
Concerning the gameplay and the passing system, you're right that we also noticed that they were slower (due to the general pace of the game I suppose)
but you don't have to worry about it, we'll correct it and it'll be better for the final version

Q2:What are the major changes in this PES ?
Seabass: In previous games, players didn't have their own intelligence. It was more of a choice of tactics and formation but this time each thinks by himself, for instance a full-back who likes to make overlapping runs.A new card system so that you could change the style of play between each players.
Moreover, in order to be more complete we've added a slider system for a more general control of the team, like its coach. This way, you could choose how high up the pitch your full-back would go.The team is in your control not just like a player but like a proper manager.
This balance is interesting is interesting in PES2010, it allows the player to really customize his game

Q3:Were you by the fans' critics regarding PES2009 ?
Yes, a lot of voices raised from Europe and we received the critics directly. The first feedbacks of PES2010 have been excellent and we are grateful.
The demands from the European market put us under pressure but we have to find a solution. At the same time it's exciting and it what drive us forward.
In PES2010 and for the first time, we have wanted to respond by going even more into the precision of details.I think that's what will always make PES appreciated in the future

Q4: Have you listed the major drawbacks of PES2009 ?
Seabass:There are plenty of things but I will tell you the 3 major ones.
Firstly the restricted 8 directions for players.Gamers wanted more freedom and that's why we implemented this 360° dribbling system.Secondly the penalties, we've always felt they weren't right but after PES2009, the demand for a new system was urgent. It was very difficult to create something new but it's done.
Finally the keepers. We took away the possibility to directly control him since our team thought that it was something underused by most fans. We've received a lot of complaints regarding the subject and have decided to implement it again. There are plenty of things like that but what needs to be remembered is that we want to keep this feedback interaction with the gamers.
To listen and implement their ideas to the full details

Q5: The visual aspect of the game is stunning
Seabass:Before the PS3 and HD platforms, we weren't programming our games starting from a PC version. Our team need to get used to it in 2-3 years and the results are visible with the important visual improvements in the games. We now can work from a solid basis to keep impressing you regarding obvious things aswell as the smallest details

I didn't wanna translate the last question but he said that he still follows football but not so much of it because he has to work most of the time.He was impressed with the way Chelsea managed to hold Barca until the dying minutes, he said that he'll try to use that match as an inspiration for PES hahah (what an awful match that was anyway)

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

i like the football they using, f50i in the pic of torres and the classic in the the kaka one. he looks well wierd in a real madrid top

thx for the translation kouroux. cheers

I'm sure by this he's talking about the response times. If this is indeed true, it'll be a huge relief.

Well the throw ins will be inserted for this build later. My guess is that the first build was developed in two directions, the first one for gamescom, the second one to implement the different teams work into a final build. The throw ins were not inserted just because they wanted to do something more advanced first before they put them in. I'm just guessing.

Animations for goalkeepers are way better than at gamescom but I still see some baywatch running in there if I'm not mistaken. Animations are wonderful, especially when you control the ball close.

Only some? Like some players with them? That could either mean they are yet to be completed, or that "baywatch" is one of the running styles xD

I gather since u said it like that, the baywatch running animations are still there, but aren't as obvious as in the previous PES versions. That's good enough for me. ;)

Love this pic the most. It's so Kaka like. I mean, is it me, or have any of you noticed the running animation Kaka is displaying on this pic. Look at his arms and body, this is exactly how he runs in real life. It looks like Kaka will have his own mo-capped running animation as well.

I don't know about you guys, but this pic screams player specific animations. I can't wait to see what it will look like in motion.

Thinking about it, what would really improve and give life to this or any futbol video sim game for that matter, is life-like running and moving animations for players. If you watch real futbol on TV, you see the numerous styles of hand, fingers and arm movement while the player is running, walking, stopping, turning, and even standing. This types of hand/arm and body movements would add so much realism and spookiness to the player animations on the field. It wouldn't matter how far the camera is from the field, with this hands/arms animations, all the players would look very realistic as they would move around the field. I think that "animations" is really the key ingredient to continue to mold a futbol sim video game into mimiquing real life.

Really nice thinking! I would love to have Cannigia confirming this.

very good point, man. maybe it's this way they are trying to go this year in terms of animations. could take a few more month/years to get it to perfection.

You, sir, have an eagle's eye. I can't believe they included that... well Konami, camera angles, please?

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

New post on Cannigia blog:

After one days on Konamikontoret without gambling, and most proof reading, you had to his reward in the form of some key ball rings a la PES 2010th Wohoo. All game reviewers will soon get "previews" of PES 2010 to 360/PS3.
Some have already had it.
There are at least a German team in PES 2010 it seems. The team has been through before.
What more can I say? Well that can change nationalities for players of Team AT, which makes a lot of edit geeks like myself. Unfortunately it seems that the law can have only one goalkeeper shit instead of two like last year? Something even stranger is the fact that you can not move freely in the slot in the demo of Gamescom. I can also tell you that it is manual goalkeeper by pressing the analog button on the right. To become a regular player again, you have to push it back again. Konami also assured me that the version I played was that of all office and has been released. The game really grew on me today. Zlatan is strong as an ox and will dribble public ass of himself with him and Messi. This does not mean they will always succeed, but Messi seems to always find an extra cm space and Zlatan seems to always manage to push the upper hand in tll grips are. Just as it should be. More info tomorrow!

Good stuff, although Google Translate seem to not be good enough this time. Don't get the parts of goalkeeper, etc.

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

ZOOM camera should be in PES 10 again! :BORED:
It's a fucking the best of camera's in this shit ;D

More seetings of camera!

FIFA 10! :BOP:

Re: PES2010 News & Rumours thread

Did anyone ever find out if free kicks are improved? i may have missed it.

@ anderson, what worries me the most from the cannigia quote is

Unfortunately it seems that the law can have only one goalkeeper shit instead of two like last year?

I really hope this is the translater fu**king up :CONF:

I don't think the yellow nets point to a new stadium i think it just means when Villarreal play at home (in whatever stadium) they have yellow nets. How cool is that? :D;)

So even though El Madrigal probably isn't in the game and alot of teams will use the same stadiums it will give certain teams that personalised touch. Beautiful little addition :APPLAUD:
