PES 6 stuttering - Windows 7 and 8

Hi Guys. I play PES6 on Windows 10 and i experienced so stuttering too. I used a Converter from Dx8 to Dx9.
Worked perfectly. Maybe it helps on Windows 7 and Windows 8 too.

http://enbdev.com/download_convertor_dx8todx9.htm

I´ve tried this and worked well, until playing a match in a rainy day. Slow AF again

..
There is a full ENB folder (more than one dll) from an argentine forum that works better and even raining the controls/animations keep smooth:

mediafire link > http://www.mediafire.com/file/1e86dwg7mv47u7f/Enb+Series+2015(PES+6)-+BY;PESFANEDIT6+2015-16.rar

Dont need to press Shift+F12 like youtube video says, just put .dll files in game folder, it will avoid stutter

I'm playing on a i5 16gb and RX470 4gb vram in Win10 x64. Its really bad without kitserver widescreen fix and these tricks from ENB

..

@claudiopvt god finding thanks. What is kitserver widesxren?

run "kitserver/lodcfg.exe". There is an option there called "Enable aspect ratio correction"

---

I'm still seeing those broken textures, ENB didnt work with Crimson 2016 "Hotfix" (from november if Im not mistaken).

Anyone tried this workaround? http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html Found it after reading Guru3D regarding dx8 bug with Windows 10 and missed vsync > http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=404871

same here... ENB (basically dx8 convertor) & the kitserver fix improve a bit the situation but stuttering is still there (even with non-patched game)

Any more ideas??

My specs intel i7 8GB and NVIDIA 1050, Win 10 x64

I´ve got better experience now (almot none stutter) with an Option File without faces, hairs nor kits, just stadiums and ballls with GDB. Happy to get it working smooth

the price was high though, game is ugly af :P

I have this problem only on pes3, and the converter crashes this game. Any ideas?

I downloaded and installed direct x 9 separately and removed the converter... effect is more or less the same but it seems like I getting fewer crashes...

EDIT: I am getting better results by forcing directx 9 via a desktop shortcut (create a shortcut and add "-dx9" at the end of the path field).

Also, some improvements from setting affinity to two cores only.

Now the game is very fluid until minute (in-game) ~15, then it starts some random stuttering which last for 5-10 seconds... it is still quite annoying.

I notice that I have similar issues (although much less evident) with other old-gen games like GTA:SA and Mount & Blade: Warband (all directx 8-9 games I think). GTA V and FIFA 17 run like a charm at High Settings.

Not sure what to do any ideas?

its weird that there is no vsync tearing on w10 with no vsync applied in neither drivers/tools (game does not anyway), so one of microsofts api's or dll's applies vsync which then appearantly doesnt seem to work all that well or is getting out of synch somehow, when that happens the stuttering occurs, then goes away again

this is with the w10 fullscreen optimizations disabled btw in the compatibility options on the exe (which should be same or similar to the "disable aero" on w7 function), so maybe this option just does not work, atleast on dx8 (pes 5 etc) who knows..

so when i apply one of them wrappers to dx9, i get tearing which is correct (no vsync applied anywhere) and the stutter is gone, then force vsync with some tool (could be problematic on w10 as well) or via driver (amd at least in the past had issues with that too)
in my case now the nvidia driver vsync works fine

did not work here, i see the game window appearing and also the watermark in the bottom right corner so it is working, but the game then just dissapears, playing with some of the options did nothing

this one did work, thx
works well in problematic stadia too, kitserver applied as well no issues
im sure other more modern wrappers would work as well, reshade or something

So I wanted to try PES 4 again, but the solution above did not work neither did all the others like ENB or reshade or I even tried "WineD3D For Windows", then I tried the following, which should not be related because after all the game starts unlike in his case the game does not, but I felt less stutters and more of the smoothnes that a regular vsync provides, so its worth a try:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=926885559 (or just search "DirectX 8.1 Fix for Windows 10")
in case it will be gone, here is the important bit:

Again I find that it runs better if fullscreen optimizations are off on the .exe
There are still around 2x stutters per 10 min. half or so, but not long.

---
The core issue is that W10 does no proper fullscreen on DX8 games it seems, thats where the issue arives that I explained in the previous posting (about vsync).

What finally fixed it for me was this:
https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=47772
Basically a smart guy editing the DX8 .dll file, use the first attachment in the first post, it will contain folders for different W10 versions, I just used the latest one and it worked, copy the dll file where the PES exe is and thats it, same result: tearing! + no stutters, just force vsync onto the game now as described in previous posting and you are done!

ps uploaded as attachment on here as well, for archive purpose
pps after testing, only the file from the latest folder works, and an issue: i cant bypass that file to force vsync so far so its either smooth and stutter free but tearing or no tearing but stutter (which affect ball physix i think, it plays weird)
neither d3doverrider nor nvidia driver can force vsync, unlike on we9le, weird

Hey!

i can resolve the problem. i play pes 2010 vey well ! any one can help?

thanks

I could not resolve issues with that game, the last time I revisited it to play.
It is a weird issue, 2009 for example has no issues, it is some slowdown type of thing, hard to explain, I dig deep into this stuff and am experienced in it so if I could not find a solution I think it is down to luck like windows version and driver etc.

What I want to add to the earlier problems with old games PES6 and older on W10, that run on DX8, is that sometimes even my latest solution does not seem to work, in this case, this can help:

In your Windows Search box type regedit and click on the first result.
When Registry Editor opens, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore.
Now find and change the following keys:
  • GameDVR_FSEBehaviour > change value to 2
  • GameDVR_FSEBehaviourMode > change value to 2
  • GameDVR_HonorUserFSEBehaviourMode > change value to 1
  • GameDVR_DXGIHonorFSEWindowsCompatible > change value to 1

And for people that have monitor refresh rate higher than 60Hz, dont forget to switch manually to 60Hz in graphics driver before going to play the game if you play with vsync enabled (driver, d3doverrider), because the game cannot work with vsync on higher refresh rates, it is engine locked to work on 60.

for PES3 very specific situation on W10, one needs the tool 3DAanalyze otherwise menu and in-game is glitched (shadows etc), need to check the following options: force zbuffer, disable two sided stencil (performance tab) and under Z-Buffer tab "force 24 bit zbuffer (without stencil)"

this tool does delete any other .dlls though on startup when one tries to add that as well (like wrappers), and its own vsync called remove stuttering either quality or perf. mode does not apply or cannot override windows, so one ends up with the usual w10 periodoc stutter (especially bad on pes3 infront of box)

so nothing from above works in this situation, what works is to start the game normally in fullscreen but then alt+tab into window mode, the vsync implementation in this case works as intended by windows

Many thanks for the reply! I tested 3DAnalyze and it even worked better. does it work for the other PES (4,5,6)? thanks

I just tested the settings on the pes6 and I can't run 100% without LAG, it always gives a slight lag during the game, it always happens when the ball is in the midfield or in the area. I'm really sad

you run it on win 10? for that you need the dx8 converter, see #71

re #72 and PES4, i fixed it with the tool dgVoodoo latest version (2.75.1)

dl it, extract the archive, copy following files to your pes folder where the pes .exe is:
- the .exe file
- the .conf
- DDraw.dll, D3DImm.dll, D3D8.dll

then open the .exe, under general tab select your grafix card as adapter, go to directX tab and select the 5700 nvidia card as videocard and at the bottom enable force vsync this is why we are doing this, not sure about the disable alt+enter setting i have it unchecked and alt windowing the game works fine so maybe experiment with that if it freezes for you doing so

make sure the fullscreen optimizations are disabled (option checked) on the pes .exe in right click mouse properties under compatibility tab, id also advice to disable game mode under windows game settings
