a new idea and of course all gaming developers saw how EA was ranking in serious money with UT and they wanted a piece of the pie ... I don't blame Konami
I can't think of how the industry will escape this microtransaction age. If one company does it, the others will have to too for survival. It's just sad.

A misplaced pass in a football match, what madness

The reason people play on higher assist levels has nothing to do with entertainment value and everything to do with winning at all costs. Like an online match against a high pass level Real Madrid player, it is about as entertaining as a punch in the teeth.

At least manual play (and to some degree, PA1) looks vaguely like an actual football match, unlike this automatic passing bullocks.
For the majority of people who play this game(with a big part of them being kids and teens) higher assist surely has to do with entertainment(for what they consider entertainment at least) otherwise the game wouldn't be like what it is.
They always adjust the game to what most people want. For these people it is entertaining that they can string many passes together and abuse tiki-taka and make effortless lob passes.Look at how these two commentators were reacting in these final matches and saying ''wow'' ''what a play'' ''he nailed it'' etc when these players string numerous passes together and making chance after chance after chance. This is exactly what is considered entertaining for most.
For you this may be as entertaining as a punch in the teeth like you say(and for me actually) but you and me and everyone here who think this way we're not even a 10% of the fanbase nowadays. And maybe i'm being generous with saying 10%.
For them to change completely the direction of the game and make it full manual it will be a marketing suicide move.
The best solution is to introduce a less assisted PA1 like it seems to be in 19 and the most important to lock it there and not give the option to someone to play PA2 or PA3 at least in these events or online in general.Or even better remove these two bullshit options completely.
With this less assisted PA1 they'll ''force'' people to play more clever and the result will be a more beautiful and realistic match for the ones who play it and for the ones who watch it but without shocking them completely by forcing them to play full manual which would made many many people to stop playing this game completely and it would only hurt the franchise.

I'm starting to get a little concerned at how little we've seen of these new leagues. We've literally seen nothing so far bar a picture of the trophies!

If I was Konami I'd be shouting from the roof tops about the new additions since it's the biggest licencing addition in years, especially considering they've just lost their biggest licence (UEFA competitions). The longer it goes without seeing anything the more I'm worried they're going to turn out like the leagues in FIFA. On FIFA unless it's PL, Bundesliga or La Liga you could be playing in any league in the world, there's nothing unique at all. I really hope these new leagues aren't like that on PES.

On a positive I'm glad to see the return of Monaco's stadium. That could look really amazing if they give it the full treatment with the external view from above with the unique location of the stadium. I've read it's coming "soon after launch", hopefully that's more September than say November.

Totally agree.

If stats had an effect then all this PA1 PA2 stuff would be redundant, With Iniesta I should be able to pick a beautiful pass like it's PA3, But Mascherano shouldn't be the creative force of the team, The same with shooting and even movement.

Otherwise what's the point of the whole buying players, constructing and planning a football team if I can do anything with everyone?

These fundamentals are what's making the whole mode look silly (on both games tbf), Everyone buys wingers and gegenpresses everyone without fatigue or player ability affecting anything in the game.

More feedback surveys please....

Nice find, rather have this kind of stuff revealed, instead of Myclub and Legends.

It’s been one my concerns as well.
New leagues, and complete silence, they should push these leagues from day one you’d think?

But (negativity warning!) we’ve had Ligue 1 since ? fully licensed, last year even ligue 2,and Konami has had Erie div (Holland) since the dawn of time and has never ever made any sort of promotion for any of these.

Strategy now is teams, not leagues, probably a push to the esports world even more.
My prediction is a licensed Russian/Swiss/Portuguese/Scottish/Danish with 1-3 stadiums per league,no match day presentation at all,no “tv package” either.
Might sound a bit bitter, but that’s how they’ve always treated (minus La Liga Pes 13) it’s licences in the past.
They had a golden opportunity with Ligue 1-2 last year, but blew that completely, not one single French stadium for it...
Unbelievable

I don't mind them copying Ultimate Team stuff. Hopefully they copy the transfer market or at least bring back the MLO market next year (ik that won't happen). Just giving players the chance to sign the players they really want. Even though you get random players in myClub I feel like everyone plays with the same players because of the agents. There were way more varied and themed teams years ago (apart from the Dotan, Arshavin, Petorbenov, Piatti long ball spammer).

I know it's been said but... Jesus Christ, why would anyone watch that?! Why is PES trying to be trendy with e-"sports" and all? The stream's been up for about 3 hours, there'll maybe be another 4-5 hours until the competition ends.
Does anyone really want to torture themselves on a Saturday, watching 8 hours of continuous backheels, lofted passes and, well, the game's flaws being abused to win matches by scores like 9-8?? :CURSE::CURSE:

football gaming for the brain dead generation imo

If they introduce the transfer market similar to fifa's, i'll skip ultimate team in a heart beat. But knowing konami, their approach to lag cheaters, i doubt they'll manage to pull that off.

I agree entirely, even a quick promo video showing off a few teams would be better than total silence. I just don't understand why you'd bother paying for the licences to do next to nothing with them. What I'd like ideally from these new leagues is;

  • Accurate player stats rather than it feeling like they've been picked via random number generator.
  • Accurate player likeness. I don't expect photo realistic faces for every player but the right ethnicity, height, weight and general look/hairstyle would be nice rather than players that look nothing like the real player.
  • Unique crowds. Crowds in every country are different so let's see that in game. For derby/rival games I want the atmosphere to be deafening, not sound like they're watching a friendly.
  • Team individuality. If Livingston go to Celtic then I want to see them parking the bus, not trying to pass them off the park like Barcelona.
  • Proper Stadiums. I'd like to see 2 proper stadiums per league as a start. Of course I'd prefer more but I don't expect them to put the resources into making all stadiums for the Swiss league or whatever.
  • More generic stadiums. A lot of these teams in the new leagues play in small 10-20K cap stadiums. I'd like a bigger choice of smaller generic stadiums rather than these smaller clubs playing in huge arenas or every club playing in the same 2 stadiums.
  • Presentation. Each league has it's own little quirks when it comes to presentation so let's see them in game along with league specific scoreboards and transitions.
I've always thought PES has been missing a trick here, it might have less leagues than FIFA but it can be using that by making the leagues it does have as accurate as possible. Nobody is going to stop buying FIFA, but some of their players might also buy PES if their nations league is in the game and it's a good accurate representation.

Good post,I agree completely.
Looks like Konami( at least to me) is going away from what we want though,a solid career mode,it’s easier to create a game that “looks the part” than digging in deep and go back to its roots,it’s more tw quick accessibility, game needs to look the part rather than be the part.
Would love if your topics were their focus instead of where we are right now.

Pro Evolution Soccer ‏Verified account @officialpes 14m14 minutes ago Yes, that’s right. The #PES2019 demo is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam on 8th August. There will be an Online Quick Match option too, alongside the usual offline stuff.

Very nice trailer. Stadium looks great and a bit more shooting variation? Not long now until we can all test the game play out for ourselves and give opinions. Looking forward to the 25 July when the news can be released from these playtests too.

That could be a master stroke by Konami. The beta was received very well and it could be received the same.

What the fuck is up with Calhanoglou's shorts at 0:17 lol?
He looks like he's very...privilleged..if you know what i mean..
But jokes aside it looks awesome.Weedens did his magic again.
Can't fucking wait to play it.I'm 100% sure it will be much better that 18,and i liked 18 in general so i'm gonna love this.
You can just tell that it will be smoother and heavier, just how i want it.I can just feel it from what i see.
Also many new little gameplay details like new blocks, saves, animations etc will enhance the realism vastly.

Nice that they've added Sporting Lisbon's stadium. Be great if they added Benfica's and did the flying eagle pre-match. Something different. Do they still do that??? :)

Also, I commented the other say about social media being a cess-pit for PES but something else... Why do FIFA fans infest PES pages and bang on about FIFA? Is it because they are all ten?

The last bit where a long ball goes from the Shalke player to the striker, who then controls the ball and scores... from the gameplay camera (I hope that's a new camera they are showing there because it's awesome) looks very impressive graphically. Very lifelike.

Looks incredible. ..hoping its at least a part of a new replay angle (one u can cotrol)...somehow doubt it..

Anyways, showed my gf this clip asking which was the real thing...she said second clip, ie pes clip. It does look very lifelike...its what the new lighting brings to the game..that n nets...my most anticipated features...increasing midfield battles/congestion n improving controllable replay angles to something similar to spidercam at wc2018 would do it for me..
