@Chris Davies i know it wasnt supposed to be funny video, but i was pissing myself laughing. The sad face at the end was deadly.
There are few points that id like to make there. Pes always seemed simple enough (comparing to FIFA, that has 3 or 4 types of different passing for example)
But devil is in details, especially these new versions.
Like lets take left stick dribbling just to illustrate what I mean. Im still miles of from being good at it. Im used to old ways and I panic when the defender is coming at me. Your power input into the left stick determines the power of a feint. So tiny little push will make player just slightly move his body. Thats something i cant get my head around and still trying to learn it, as Im used to old Pes games, where I was hanging of the controller.
Now back to your video.
Player runs are crap. I think we can all agree on that. Players are stopping for no reason mid run and whats even more frustrating - often they dont even start runs by themselves.
The best way to trigger those muppets, especially around penalty area, is to press R2 straight after pass which will make the guy who passed to run at the goal.
I only started to use it recently and still trying to learn it, or should I say - remember to press it after the pass.
As for slow wingers - i always double tap sprint button to gain any sort of advantage. If you dont, they have the ball to close to their feet and dont use their full speed.
And as for defence positioning - Im always using Super Cancel when I see my players loosing their mind inside the box. I got to the point that Im using Super Cancel for every cross, high or low, just in case. That will cancel whatever Shaman Dance they were performing and I can place them in front of attacker to intercept the ball. It takes a while to get your head around but once it clicks, it will give you full control over the defender and get rid of those silly behaviours.
When the ball is on the wing and Im not sure if ill be able to block it or take it back, I usually switch to defender in the box and start positioning him before they even cross it, while applying secondary pressure on the winger with square.
Thats all the tips I can think of, but I understand that basic, core gameplay is not great. Question is - do you want, or/and have patience to go deeper into the controls, or is it just too annoying to bother.
