Yep. Shooting too, unfortunately.
This is the problem. Fouling works but only if you play in a certain way - you can completely avoid fouling for or against you, intentionally or not. I had a number of pens playing ML but I also know that I'd try take-ons and fake shots that draw fouls, and that it was equally (if not more so) possible to play the game without allowing for fouls for OR against. I had a single player game very recently where I had 7 fouls given in my favour, including 2 penalties. But I also had 0 fouls against me, because I wasn't using X to press/tackle.I hope they sort the fouls out ..at least give me 4 or 5 pens in a season instead of none..it will be pointless having the new set pieces for single players if their are hardly any fouls..im committed to buying this so far but if FIFA is up there with it and contains fouls I'll go that way this year
it's good you are happy with it..but zero fouls in the Merseyside derby ruins the immersion for meTo be honest...
to me fouls are fine in PES 2017.
The frequency and strictness differ in every match.
Only thing which happens a bit too less is that fouls by the AI in the box are being called leading to a penalty.
Happens like 1 time out of 100 games.
But all in all to me they are fine the way they are now and I hope it'll stay that way in PES 2018.
Reading posts from people wanting to have more fouls....
Well I hope KONAMI won't listen because finding the right balance of something isn't easy for them...we know that.
Just remember PES 2014 where every little push was being called and you barely had a flow in the game.
The game needs to see fouls given for collisions, irrespective of whether a tackling button is being pressed. There also needs to be an improvement in getting midfields to clash, so the ball can't just be passed around without players coming into contact with each other.
Contact + fouls based on nothing more than contact = a much more realistic and interesting free kick system.
the penalty situation "non existence issue" should be totally addressed and should be more varied like fifaThat already happens, there are a lot of fouls when some collision happens with the other player, sometimes it seems to make no sense, but that's kind of the cool thing about it. PES 2017 implemented a lot more weird contact fouls, which is great. You might be pressing a button in those instances, but not necessarily trying to tackle. I suppose it happens most often when I'm trying to kick/head the ball but end up kicking/elbowing the opposing player. Happens to the AI as well.
I think the foul system would be just about right if the same rules applied within the penalty box. I may have 3-4 penalties in my countless matches since release.

In PES 2017 master league if you play derbies there is a shiteload of fouls and free kicks. The problem is penalties which are not called for the right reasons. Have people even played PES 2017.agreed.
In games like this, the level of aggression should be higher.
please post a screen shot and prove me wrong because I must be playing a different game ..last derby was 17 fouls to 10 ..id love to see a third of that consistently...currently I'm seeing between 0 and four..realistically an average of two but if I'm lucky only maybe 1 every 3 games where I can shoot from...penalties I won't even bother discussing as I've not had one all seasonIn PES 2017 master league if you play derbies there is a shiteload of fouls and free kicks. man u are trying to defend what is already undefendable, the non existence of penalty situation is a major downside, i won t bother aswell speaking abt it.Hi, I don't post here a lot but I thought I should chime in on the topic although I can't take a screenshot because I'm out of the country for the whole summer.
I only play Master league and I see plenty of fouls especially in derbies (last Liverpool vs. Man Utd game saw 4 yellow cards for CPU iirc). Not sure if this helps but I play Top Player and my players' overall ability ranges from 70-82 (so my team almost never overpowers opponents). I know moving the ball quickly is good but as a big Liverpool fan, I'm used to seeing them dwelling on the ball a lot, so I play the same way and I draw a lot of fouls that way. I see about 3-5 penalties per season both for and against. I concede fouls a lot from late tackles (I love last ditch tackles which don't always come off) and by using super cancel to win aerial battles.
Maybe you don't get enough fouls because you're too good at the gameI do notice that if I concentrate and really play neatly, i don't see that many fouls. But most of the time, I'm slightly sloppy and I see way more physical contact. Maybe the looser ball in PES2018 might help.
One thing I never see though is last man foul resulting in red card. That bothers me a lot.

we don t want to enter into the discussion, don't defend something that everyone knows is broken, thx..lets talk about the potentials of pes 2018I agree with you, I think it depends on your skill level. I am not that great a player, I play on Top Player, full manual, and in my ML me and the CPU got about 4 penalties each in a season. Quite a few free kicks too.![]()

Great work
So after playing PES 3 for a while the other day, I kind of realised that I don't really care how good or bad PES 2018 looks as long as it's fun and immersive. There's a good post on the last page detailing how 'you didn't really notice the flaws in old PES games because you were so immersed' (paraphrasing).
I've realised something similar. It's why I don't feel like watching these videos qualifies me to make a decision about the game. I simply don't know how it feels to play from watching other people play it.
This.
Totally agree.
I totally understand that people are very sceptically about Konami after some awfull editions of PES.
Konami have called it upon themselves by their bad PR and bad games with infuriating details (one example: the garden gloves of the GK's some years ago, i know it's all about gameplay, but when the game isn't in the shops and the only thing people see about the game are stills and clips, this is unforgivable).
But IMO people are exagerating now.
I don't understand people who overanlyse the clips. Do they ever play the game or are they already disgusted with the game and don't buy it al all? And if they buy it, do they analyse their owmn matches that way?
Video games are supposed to be fun.
To give an analogy. I'm a music freak. As a teenager i worked in Belgium's biggest concert arena and later on i worked years for an alternative radio station. Sadly i have not talent whatsoever for music. I can't play intstruments. My best friend is a guitar player. Every time we went to a concert he just looked at the hands of the guitar player and as a consequence never really was in the zone for the concerts. We talked a lot about that and he said he envied me because i had a much more instinctive approach to concerts and enjoyed, while he couldn't. In the end he stopped going to concerts. He was much more knowlegeable about music, but didn't enjoy himself.
Some people approach PES the wrong way imo. Overanalysing kills the fun. It starts as a knowlegeable analysis, slowly it becomes some sort of bragging (look how intellectual i'm approaching football) and after a few weeks those people become cynical and arrogant...
If you want to go that deep in it, go playing real football and try to become a professional or a manager...it's al lwasted energy on a video game. I want PES to be sort of a simulation, but a football video game against the AI will never be realistic...hell even real football at top level is not realistic...i can show you plenty of fantastic goals that are bad defending (i'm still waiting for an example of a goal where there is no bad defending with hindsight).
This post can be seen as a personal dig, it isn't... it's acriticism to an approach that isn't mine and that spoils fun...and those people should not shut up...they have all the right to give their opinion, but i don't agree at all and imo after some time it feels like showing off. This attitude creeps in this thread every year and i just can't stand it...maybe i'm wrong but that is just my sincere opinion.
No hard feelings.

The one in Antwerp?! I grew up in Tervuren, must have been there so many times. As a teenager i worked in Belgium's biggest concert arena and later on i worked years for an alternative radio station.
In two words "old PES". And i'm not a nostalgic guy at all. But what those games have and the new one doesn't? Fun factor? Check. Better player potition? Check. More fouls and penalties? Check. Better individuality? Check. Better goal feeling and satisfaction? Check. Better shooting system? Check. Better passing system? Check... And i can go on.
What i mean is that we put the word fun in new PES titles, ignoring some realistic elements that doesn't mean prevent a football game from being fun.
I played PES 2017 for 2 months and i enjoyed it. But i got tired quickly. Why? Because it hasn't depth in gameplay and AI.
Anyway this is my personal opinion and i hope PES 2018 will change it.
