PES 2018 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

I'm also hoping for passing between 0-1 PA but I'm sure they will keep the current system (so probably another year with manual passing Online for me).

With that said I'm pretty sure these videos are made on the lowest CPU setting and HIGH PA because it's easier that way to recreate the goals in the video, they are all real goals scored you know (I think...).

Didn't even know Athletico was getting a new stadium. Wow, dunno how I feel about that. On one hand I get the need to increase capacity & conditions for venues but they all look the same. Gonna miss the character & culture of the Calderón & White Hart Lane.
Totally agree, all new stadiums look the same and loses this authenticity.

Look like EPL

Back after 6 months to see PES18 - I dont have a console after selling my 6 week old PS4 Pro in December.
Fell out of love with gaming.
PES18 - Looks like PES16 & PES17 to me. Looks nice but it hasnt played nice (imo) for a few years.
I wont be buying it as it means spending £400 plus console.

Reading through the stuff on the site, i'm actually pretty excited by the online co-op. the little user stats and profiles are a nice touch

I know it's just a trailer and the purpose is to highlight the best parts of the game like spectacular overhead kicks and back-heel passes. But I would have loved to see some misplaced passes and shots that went wide. Got me a bit worried, but love the new animations, looks incredible.

I couldn't find the "clear change" from the last 3 games in that trailer....looked similar with spectacular goals added....not too excited about it.

I totally agree with you guys, not impressed with the trailer. It's all about the big stars, the big teams, and the big goals. Seeing overkicks and flicks and stuff does absolutely nothing for me. Seeing Maradonna does nothing also. And Bolt, what is the point of it? Bolt must be loving it knowing that the commentator is going to be shouting his name, over using his name. How much did they pay him for that. For the purists their money would be better spent getting guys to do realistic stats for real footballers. It really shows where it is heading. I'm worried that having Bolt in it will open the floodgates to other types of sports stars.

I know that most will love it but for me I am really dissapointed in what I've seen so far. Having said that I will of course buy it as I always do.

Will see how the demo plays. That's all that matters to me this time. If I'm not satisfied then I'm not buying the game. Yes the game might play differently to the demo but it won't be that drastic difference. I'm really not doing it this time buying the game regardless like I do every year. I'm past that now.

Trailers doesn't matter to me. I just want to play the demo and see how it feels and plays. That change then would be obvious. One thing I noticed is that the running animations are still the same. Passing and shooting you can't judge cuz it's a trailer and they just wanna show off goals. Graphically tho, it looks amazing.

Need I remind you what you were saying last year when the Demo came out? What WE ALL were saying when the demo came out.

I remember not having a console when PES 2017 demo was released (neither do I have one now), and the PC Demo came out after the full game. So I vividly remember how most of you were reacting to the game just from reading you, because I didn't have the chance to play it. I was so god-damn excited because I was getting such a positive vibe from people like you Lami, who I respected (and still do).

I can remember you wrote something like no cpu goals scored against you felt cheap, and you loved that.

What I'm trying to say is, you will probably love the demo. Buy the game. And then by the 6th month you'll probably be annoyed at so many things again by this time next year, and you'll be left in the state you are now.

Maybe this sounds like an offense, but I honestly don't want it to. It's just a description of what even the most experienced WE/PES players and long-time members of this forums go through year after year.

Don't worry no offense taken, because it's all true.

But because it's all true though, I do not wish to go through the same cycle again. I used to buy the game regardless as it was just a yearly routine for me, being a football fan first and a gamer second. I'm just past it this time, really. I will hammer the demo to death before I buy it this time, if I buy it. No routine buy this time around. There are plenty other good games to play as well, and time isn't plenty. I will have to choose wisely.

And I hope it's good and with more variety.

There are some good new animations here and there. They are not at the level I would like to see, but overall they do look improved and I think this will be clearly seen from real gameplay.

There some.gliding movements on Messi dribbiing and on Coutinho before his finess shot wich looked pretty good. But those gliding movements seem to be on a more acceptable level, didnt feel the impression that they are literally floating on the pitch wich is good. It seems to me that gliding movements are simply necessary to assure that control responsiveness will be on point.

What Id like to see is just the basic movement on th ball with the analog stick to be improved and more like PES 2014.

Graphics look better definetly, pitchs look sharper from a wider angle, colours look more vibrant, day lighting at Camp Nou look much better than on PES 2017 wich looked terrible.

Overall, tbh, the trailer didnt get me excited. I think improvements are there, but nothing to be super excited about.

Im gonna wait for gameplay reveal later tonight

@Lami Unless you're in a bad place with your economy, I would suggest you put no rules on yourself. Do what you feel, man. If you get the demo and feel joy when playing it, or if it takes you to a special place that makes you feel like a child again (like when we were playing on SNES or whatever), or maybe you feel immersed in it... then buy it. If you don't, you don't and that's all there is to it.

I know I'm going to enjoy it just because I enjoyed PES 2017 a lot (on PC) and this time we're getting the real deal with the Next-Gen treatment, so that's a plus by itself. If you throw all the new animations, modes and yearly improvements, then it means I will be happy with it. Even if this second Trailer actually got me less excited than I was after the first short teaser, I know I will pre-order it and love it the minute I fire it up.

Not going to judge it without seeing gameplay but some of those moves look "locked in".

I thought i seen the old goal accross the goalkeeper when the goalkeeper doesnt extend his arms as well.

Some good polish on it from last year.

So yeah not buzzed by it but will wait to see gameplay before I get too opinionated.

Nice trailer. But Usain Bolt? Absolute legend, sure. But in athletics!!! Whatever next? Andy Murray driving in F1 2017? Lewis Hamilton shooting hoops in NBA 2K18???

If anyrthing, the trailer actually made me do a facepalm with that Atl. Madrid goal.

The way Griezmann passed the ball with a first time pass that went on a perfect inclined line to the reciever player with the outside of his foot, without even looking at it just made sure that ASSISTED PASSING will still have ridiculous level of accuracy that defies any physical logic.

Thats a typical first time pass with the 1-2 button held down and that is what kills any chance of the game catering a more sim approach online.

exactly my thoughts :APPLAUD::TU:

It's not just the passing & dribbling (although those two bother me like hell, especially because they are almost identical to what we had 3 to 4 years ago), but shooting also. Looks predictable and "flat", and that completely takes the joy away from getting a shot in.

Really want to be proven wrong when I get to play it.

Given that the trailer essentially pops up and says "Master League!" Then immediately disappears... I'm guessing there are no changes there.

This screenshot seems to show no new options, too. Nicer menu.

Day one buy!

Seriously though, it is, because 2017 has given me so much joy. They'll need to knock something off the price for me to preorder it though, as I will do sod all with that myClub stuff, could not care less.

Happy to see that Firmino goal recreated so well, he sure as shit didn't score it against Dortmund though

There is (at least) one very important new thing in the ML, Chris. You get aims to fullfill and if you don't succede, you are fired. That was one of the additions i wanted in ML. Very good imo.

Source? The site about PES 2018. I wanted tp ost a link to the page, but the site is down at the moment...i know...LOL.

Konami.

if asim can get the comfort of having an assistant manager and theres no major improvement in ML, shouldv invested that position to a dedicated ML designer, il be extremely disappointed if only a lil improvement. on a side note getting very very tired of players saying they love the club they dont want to leave it, and im battling relegation and those words are coming from top players, if i see nothing done about that this year, il be giving this year a miss cos ML is the only reason i buy this game.
