PES 2018 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Had to go back and re-watch the PES 2017 trailer. Yes you read it right, 2017.

And, to my surprise, I actually think PES 2017 was better put together. Maybe it's just a matter of how they built the trailer and whatnot, but PES 2018 gives me the feeling of more robotic and stiff movement. In terms of graphics, of course PES 2018 looks better. But animations-wise I don't know...
No no , you are right . Animation in trailer looks bad , well not all but most of them looks bad. I download Trail edition of PES 2017 for PC , the new version of the game is so goood. Good respons and good animation, but this ,what i saw in PES 2018 trailer is far worst of that in PES 2017 trail .

Sorry vialli, please don't think I'm being sarcastic, but my main issue is that this is a football game and he is not a footballer.

And, as I mentioned before, it may open up more sports stars to jump in on the franchise. Also, it's making me wonder how they work out his stats. Obviously he is very fast but then looking at his shot in that trailer, is he as good as the top footballers or even average ones. I don't think so.

If I was into NBA I wouldn't have liked the idea of Henry being in it either. Just my opinion though ;)
I would like to see 'free sides select' make a return :)

He want's to be a football after his career, he said this many times (training with Dortmund btw). He's a sportsman.
It's not a bad choice of well know personnality, it's not like they've signed a contract with Danny Devito or whatever.
Henry was a much bad choice of WTF.

But whatever, it's not like i'm not gonna enjoy this game because he's featured. It's funny and not that nonsense as people thinks. We need some fun feature like the random players choice for team, or the legends who are know in their 40-60's confronting currents players.
Also, it's on Myclub only.

It still a game, and yes some modes (ML) needs correct and actual rosters like in Football manager, but some others needs a bit of freedom in that area.
It wasn't on you at all geeeeee, but please all relax about that Usain thing, he won't change visual or gameplay

who the hell cares about Bolt! How about getting some more licenses that matter to the game, more stadiums maybe?

I watched the trailer many times. The game looks very good and I'm sure it'll play good too, as much as PES 2017 at least.
Animations seems almost the same imo, I honestly can't believe they completely reworked them as they pretend they did.

If I take a look closely, I do notice some robotic transitions and really weird movements. The only part which in the trailer was great animation-wise is the Coutinho goal. One of the worst part imo was the Dembélé goal, I mean his run was so "PES"...

What mostly disturbs me is the lack of intention in the players behaviour; sometimes they seem overly frenetic, they don't seem to be sure of what they're doing and they change direction every second, and I think this is one factor in the overall robotic feeling.

All this trailer shows are the graphics and content. Not really gameplay improvements.

And honestly someone can tell me whats up with Bolt? Im clueless. Really.

I absolutely love the way Coutinho hesitates and cuts back inside. Agreed with the majority though that animations as a whole don't look all that different.

think i'm going to miss the live stream so hopefully someone records it.

Dortmund definitely not using full assist, some misplaced passing. The ball physics and player movement look nice

So, Adam starts off hot and heavy with Usain Bolt stuff and then mentions how PES 15, 16 and 17 were steps towards this massive change that we'll see in PES 18.

And then the gameplay starts and it looks exactly like PES 17.

Ball physics looks totally different, slower, more rebound etc.
Now it's more clear that's is truely a different game that PES 2017 just after watching few minutes, but the screen was too small to see how animations transitions are

The ball physics look much better. The animations look tighter, bt not new. It seemed like Pique was heavier and Iniesta much lighter.

To me 70% looks the same. I mean the most important in a football game: shooting and passing.

There was one off target shot and it had that usual 1 meter error like in 2017 where there is the only margin with any player.

Gamae looks beautiful. Just whish they would had time for the set pieces.

More responsive . .dribbling better . .. shots look slower .. positioning wasn't bad.

So 20:30 UK time.. will have more streams ?? I Need to see more.. this gameplay was.. fine but.. some animations need more works .

I liked 2017 quite a bit (7/10) so this looks like a step up judging from the twich- stream, not massive but will do for me.

Would live to know the PA of the players playing, looked ok, Barca of course quite ping pongey. Dortmund more random.

Players movement looked a bit twitchy a la fifa. Also it was clear they didn't pay much attention to tactics with Messi sticking to the damn side line. The attacking line is still deconected from the rest of the team when the team is in defense exactly like in PES2017. I hate seeing those three dude waiting at the midfield line. If they could improve the connection of the attackers with the rest of the team when a team defend and defenders with the rest of the team when a team attack the game will be way more fluid.
