1. R2 curl shot is kinda broken in full manual shooting mode. All I remember is that it (manual R2 curling shot into far corner) worked perfect in pes2015. I remember doing this over and over with Robben in free training mode since I looked so amazing.


2. THIS IS A TIP I DISCOVERED (PLEASE TRY AND GIVE FEEDBACK). On many occasions, playing vs cpu top player but particularly superstar, the ai/cpu gets the ball from defence through the mids to strikers with tremendous ease, as my own defender' ai is kinda poor as they are too far away from opposition players. Only discovered recently that you can actually man mark every player (every single player on your team can man mark a player on the opposing team). So what I did was get my CBs to man mark each striker, the RB and LB to mark the opposing wingers, my DM to mark the opposing AM or CM, and my CM's marking opposing mid players, ensuring I was man marking all the midfielders of the opposing team. Then I put my own LMF/LW and RMF/RW to man mark their LB and RB. My CF or SS would mark their LB/RB or even their CBs. So essentially all of my men are man marking their closest opposing player. Didn't know you could this.. though you could only do about 3 players max. Anyways, this definitely constricts the ball getting through the mids, and inf act results in me being able to defend much better and retrieve the ball more effectively. My interceptions have risen 10fold.... really adds to the game. Everything seems tighter with less space and better player positioning. Please give this a go and let me know what you think. I'm really excited about what ive seen since doing this 3+ games ago. Awesome...

Never buy the US version if you want to connect to friends in EU. The versions are incompatible. I've been buying the EU version since 14, just to play in leagues over in EU (while I'm in US)
 
Haven´t been posting here in a while.

I have to say that even with a few flaws I really enjoy that game.
Every mode has it´s pros and cons.
After every thursday I play myclub. Playing offline and online challenges to get that special agents.

Online is one thing. I play full manual against assisted user as you can´t filter that in those online challenges.
Here it depends on the opponents. Ping pong passing, hardcore pressure, sliding spammers with lag cheat or a crappy connection are a pain in the ass.
But if you play against an assisted user who plays a proper game it´s really cool.
If he wins, it´s okay. You still can tell...well fuma against assisted...that´s okay or maybe he just played better....all good.
But if you win playing fuma against assisted....that´s damn rewarding ;).

Offline challenges are getting on my nerves though. At least if you have to play against the AI on superstar.
I don´t like that difficulty at all....even top player is frigging ugly. In those challenges and in my ML whenever I score, it feels like the AI gets a boost, every pass hits and they equalize immediately. It happens ALL THE TIME.
Whenever I make it happen to score in those myclub challenges against the COM I stay in my half passing the ball around just to get that stupid special agent which mostly brings me nothing better than a silver ball.
I don´t know why I keep playing this, because I don´t feel good playing that way.
Well and if the AI manages to steal the ball it´s 99,9% a goal!

Same with ML...that´s why I keep on playing on professional. But in some games low teams play like Barca and are just unbeatable...
This and the fact that I have a chance to buy Mbappe with Derby County (SkyBet League) is really awful.
And a few other negative things you have to overlook when you play ML.
But I really do enjoy it.

Best thing is playing fuma vs fuma though!

Nah mate. I can clearly see poor quality texture around the nose, eyes, etc.
It doesn't happen with every Konami face. Some of them are really HD but I was indeed surprised this time around with these new, supposedly "3D scanned", faces.
 
Prediction for Thursday .. people who have gone back to Fifa after a years absence will flood the place to give their opinion of the patch. . e.g .. "I played two games and I saw two back heels in the first minute and turned it off" "The chipped ball to the wing is still there". . "At least in Fifa and I say this from a lifelong Pes fans perspective . .this game is dead etc etc" "Fouls fixed? what a joke".. ..some may even go into the history of past editions .. watch this space.
 
To be fair they are bad issues, I mean there were few back heels in pes 17 but now there must be 4 or 5 a game in daft places by mediocre teams..and you don't need to be a fifa fan to know fouls don't work even Konami are patching it..again odd as in pes 17 there were a few fouls but still no penalties , same as this year or at least I think I had one all year yet to see on in 18..i hope I'm wrong but I doubt they have done a good job fixing it ..id expect adam to be posting foul videos instead of the constant faces

Just backup your Documents/Konami/Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 folder.
Then backup your Steam games/Common/Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 folder as well.

Once you've backed the whole of your PES 2018 content, just wait for Steam to update the game and then you'll probably have to wait until Baris updates his DPFileList Generator. But always keep that backup just in case, you never know when a little hexediting might be needed in order for your current option file or Master League to keep working.

I've been playing FIFA for the past 2 weeks and you know what? FIFA's foul counter doesn't look too good either.
I've been on with 0 fouls for a number of matches, playing on the hardest difficulty.

I had to resort to external mods in order to get fouls. So it's not a matter of Konami/PES. It would seem as though it's harder than we think to achieve a balanced game between a nice flow and an aggressive AI that commits X amount of fouls per half/match.

I play both games regularly since I found the right setup for FIFA (modded).
Why am I going schizo? Because I'm able to enjoy both games?.

Because I found mods that modify the gameplay, the database and I found the right settings (to my taste) for the sliders. All of this combined made me enjoy FIFA.

Chuny I've watched the World cup on tv since 1970 . and the best one I've seen was the 1978 World cup with the Argentinian team with Kempes, Lugue and the rest of the lads . . .magic . . you weren't even born then probably even before the main man Maradona was on the scene. . that was football.
 
OK, to be done with this topic let me add: Of course I am waiting for PES patch on Thursday. The game has become repetitive without fouls and it has become annoying with the player switching issue. And I want to get the Emirates Stadium badly.

Well, I wasn't even born yet but I've seen a Documentary that was filmed and it was a very controversial WC, unfortunately. That WC devides Argentina in two: Half of Argentina believes it was all set up by the Government (A dictator) and the other half thinks it was all legit. From what I saw, it may had very well been all legit, EXCEPT the match against Peru. I'm not buying that one.

But thanks mate. And I'm very sorry for your country. I wanted you to be in the WC.

I traded my PS4 Pro towards an Xbox One X and am extremely happy with it.

Thinking of buying PES 2018 for the X now - will it be 4K enabled?

I can handle the fake kits as will only play with licensed teams anyway.

Yes, it will be 4k enabled.
As opposite to you, i’ve switched from Xbox to PS4 Pro just because i cant stand playing with non-licensed teams anymore. Also, the low number of online players on Xbox.

Yeah pes is always better on ps4. I had a Pro which was extremely noisy and it hurt my head. My Xbox X is silent.

Prefer the Xbox controller too. I will only play CL mode anyway, there's hardly anything to do in the game and ML is terrible again this year. Gameplay is far better than the other game though and that's what counts.
