PES 2018 PC Discussion Thread

I hope we get a demo this year...

Maybe we will ...

Another thing that could suck for PC version. Why that Online Beta will be available only for PS4/Xbox One ?

PC Online System needs improvements aswell ... too much lag input sometimes.

Didn't look for the numbers but I think consoles had more players online. Personally, I really don't care about online modes at all, although I feel for those who want to have some fun that way...

There are more users on consoles, but still, where is the PARITY now ? If you are bragging parity on PC - PS4 - Xbox One versions, then make it! But again, it's Konami and their cheap talk ...

Can't take that article seriously - a quote from the first paragraph:

Football games are nowhere near perfect, nor do they feature everything that happens on the pitch - let alone the lack of management options off it. Total fluff piece, IMO.

I THINK, I think, it was referred to their final form before release THIS YEAR. Not in a definitive and permanent way.

I think it's been made pretty clear that there won't be any DEMO (OR BETA) for PC prior to the game release because of what happened in previous years where many things were unlocked from the full game in the demo, which made console players jelous and starting trashing Konami for giving the advantage to PC. Idiots.
From that point in time, Konami left the PC version completely behind, as a way of punishing us not only for modding the Demo to the point where you could play with (potentially) any team you wanted but also for piracy.

Last year they tried to prevent piracy, but somehow, similar to the style they get their job done, they failed and it just took longer to crack the game. I remember that for PES 2016 you could also play online with some sort of cracked files.
I honestly really hoped last year for the game to not be cracked so in this way they will have higher incomes and those will be invested in the PC version, but everything went havoc in November. Getting the game cracked really pissed them off, I think this is the main reason why we didn't get Anfield or SIP on PC ...
So are they really take the PC version forward or this will be their better version of PES in the following years as they will lose their partnership with Sony ?

Taking crackers longer to crack the game is a good start. It actually got many people to buy the game, like me.

I was actually so damn disgusted by the PC downgraded version I was determined not to buy it and download it illegaly.
I bought FIFA 17, because I had liked the demo. Full game was awful, couldn't stand it.
After two months, I was desperate. I knew, from reading peoples comments in here, that PES gameplay was the same on PC and on PS4. Only graphics were downgraded. Given the unbareable FIFA had become to me at that point in time, and since PES hadn't been cracked yet... I had no choice. I bought. And boy am I glad I did. Best PES I have ever played.

So I think whatever Konami did to prevent crackers to get the game unlocked as quickly as others years, worked. I bought the game, as many others did.
This year is a different story, I will buy it regardless of whatever. Even if somehow some crack group could get PES full game out next week (LOL), I would still buy it. This is the year we show our support on PC.

To be honest I never tried FIFA 17. I was disgusted by FIFA 15 and FIFA 16 enough.
But, EA Sports need to be appreciated as since FIFA 16, their game can't be cracked, and it really doesn't. Do we realise what that means to them ? Is it about Origin or about their protection inside the game ? Did Konami got scrued due to Steam vulnerabilities ? Who knows ...

Recently I started to notice the rage of various FIFA gamers related to gameplay, bugs, lag and all those issues. Seeing an increased number of complaints, it actually means a lot of people buy the game. Why ? First of all, because it can't be cracked.

I wouldn't mind if this would happen to PES also, I really wouldn't.

Well... PES has been available through Steam for 3 years now. PES 2018 will be the fourth.
I think if the problem was Steam, Konami would have moved on from it by now.

They didn't have the suspected Denuvo protection until last year. I was talking about PES 2017. PES 2017 was cracked after 2 month. PES 2014/15/16 we're cracked in 2 days.

Some would say that Denuvo protection did it's job and the game was hijacked through Steam in order to get around the Denuvo Protection.

My point was that this doesn't happen on Origin+FIFA+Denuvo but it does on Steam+PES+Denuvo.

All the more reasons to support this new high quality PC version purchasing it and encouraging others to do so.

Origin games with DENUVO got cracked. Dragon Age: Inquisition, for instance.

Steam games with DENUVO get cracked very easily. RE:7 was cracked in 1 week.

Lots of people buy FIFA because of their graphics and because they don't want to change to other game, nor they think: "what if PES is better this year?"

It's not KONAMI's fault the game got cracked "fast" (it wasn't fast given the state of DENUVO's security), it was DENUVO's fault. Even tho, Witcher 3 has no protection at all and it was very profitable. So, if KONAMI treats us like CDProjekt did, people will start thinking about the chance to buy PC version.

Main reason why most kids won't try PES is because of licenses and presentation. That's why older people tend to (at least) give it a try. Some will stick with it, some will not. But at least consider it as an option. Kids won't, because they want the team name, the new kit, the stadiums, the scoreboard, etc.

That's the real deal. It's sad, but it is.

Yeah, I'm aware of that.
Sadly, the supposed targeted public for these games nowadays are U15 kids as a majority, and for these kids all those things like real names, real kits, real stadiums, real scoreboards and all these in a high number catches their attention. Also, the freestyle street soccer based gameplay in FIFA does the trick too. After they realise all the issues and all the bugs it doesn't matter to them anymore ... they have FIFA, wtf.

The vast, vast, vast majority don't see an unrealistic goal or a crazy bug and think "wow they need to fix that". It's just a quirk, and it's the only football game they know of, or care about. It's all about playing as the big team, in the real kit, kicking the real ball - gameplay doesn't matter. It feels fun because it looks fun.

I envy them, actually - being able to enjoy the game no matter what...

Exactly this. I know a lot of dutch kids that call me out for playing PES and then go on and call FIFA extremely realistic.
Then when I ask them why they sum up everything. Kits, Leagues, Atmosphere, Stadiums, Scoreboards. Everything is Authentic to real life.

Thats when I learned there are two types of realism. Authenticity-Realism and Recreate the game of football- Realism

Kids and mainstream gamers just want everything to be authentic to real life so they can ''imitate'' what they are seeing when watching football on the telly. They dont care about mechanics, How many animations are in the game. Ball physics or what not. It looks like the real deal anyways! Its authentic

Can't blame them really. It's the society we live in. Marketing is everything.
Having the lastest iPhone or the lastest console, or the new drone, or whatever is very important nowadays.

When we were growing up, having ONE player like Ronaldo (Nazario da Lima) with blue boots was EVERYTHING to us. It was HUGE. And it was like... just one player in the entire game.

Exactly. But this kind of thing feels to same to me as Simracing. I use to simrace leagues all year round and go for the really hardcore games that rely on realism. Sometimes with full Formula 1 mods.

Now Codemasters make this huge mainstream arcade F1 game. Doesnt even come close to the realism I'm used to.
But kids still prefer that over a more realistic approach cause it has all the authenticity of the real formula 1 season you are watching on TV.

That is the most important part for the mainstream audience. But we are talking about PES here. And lots of us arent really ''mainstream'' gamers  Very very outspoken and really passionate. I wouldnt want to be in their shoes

PES2018 E3 DEMO HANDS ON| GAMEPLAY REVIEW (Shooting, Passing AI & PC Version...) by Brian Emeka

Thanks for this vide. If it's true what he says then KONAMI fixed all my issues with this game except of shooting. I slowly believe that the PC version will be great this year. :)

looking @gamescom features picture from last page, It's a shame edit mode won't be touched for the 6th year in a row now, and master league is also barely changed.
But oh well...

I don't want to be rude or so, i do love pes and i do love fifa. But in terms of soccer games there's is no discussion possible, fifa is the best you can find out there for various reasons that not graphics, and even when you put it graphically, it owns pes. It has its downsides as well, for me the delay is the major one. But as a whole i do find fifa way more complete. By the other hand i do love pes because of how simple it can be. I don't really go for "fifa is the best and fuck the rest" but the truth is simple, there is no other soccer game more complete than fifa in all apects. Leagues, stadiums, animations, graphics, stats, physics, you name it. Once again don't get me wrong its just my opinion and i am looking further to pes this year, as probably any pes lover here is at the moment.
