For me it's more about 2 player battle for a high ball in mid field. I can position my player but I want more control in that situation! Heading for goal is fine so far.

Alright. But this, for me, depends on the player that crosses the ball and positioning. Sometimes I have that rocket cross too, looks weird I know...
Try using triangle for higher further away throws! A lot of time I use just X it's low ground throws. They can do it!
should try advance shooting providing your also on PA0, very stat based, highly recommend trying it if u havent yet
Im playing a league two ML and it was a slog man. I was terrible. I liked some of my players but kept losing and wasnt playing good footie. I then changend my tactics and made sure I had the highest team spirit possible. I then started using close control and tiki-taci with hug the sideline, and damn Im playing some amazing football! This game is the tits, and the stats matter big time! I was getting annoyed cause all of my shots are low, but its more contextual then ever, you need to have the meter higher to go higher, but if your player has a good finishing and decent shot, a short meter shot will rocket. I was about to ditch my league 2 ML and wait for pesunivese, but now Im going to keep going! Best PES in a long time.

I found this out by accident, you don't have to resize the images in photoshop or similar first. You can select the 2048*2048 images in the game but make sure that you choose to import them from the 1024*1024 and then they are imported at the lower resolution.
You can test this afterwards as when you go to manually assign a kit, the ones you chose to import at 1024*1024 onl show up in that section even though they were originally 2048*2048.

How did you get him? With the CL agent? Top agent? Scouts?
I actually tried manual passing/crossing again now, and it's not as difficult as I thought. Crossing definitely becomes more "organic" anyway, so will definitely keep it! Thanks a lot for the tip.
Yeah it really needs time. I had so many moments where I wanted to go back to PA1, but I forced myself and now it got better and better and I never wanna go back from manual again.

This game really grew on me...I´m now at the point where I have been with FIFA last year.
It´s the emotions I have when scoring and missing. And my replay gallery is growing (gonna upload a compilation soon).
It´s not "meh", it doesn´t leave me cold...I´m totally into this! Rally loving it and I haven´t even touched ML yet.
I´m playing myclub and having those tournaments with the CPU.
Right now I´m trying the CL tournament with a shit team on full manual.
I have to say...even on advanced I have to be so careful and play strategic.
On professional it´s really tough for me on full manual, as you have to quick-pass the ball around sometimes cause AI often is pressing so hard that you can´t even take a shot.
A few gripes I´m having with this though...
- Still...often when loading up the passing bar to the max, the player 3 meters next to the passer takes it.
- I can´t remember the AI being offside in all of the matches I had. Does it ever happen?
- When I perform a pass and hold the stick to one direction and in the meantime the passing bar loads up, I change the direction, the game doesn´t care. I know I could use supercancel there but there have been PES releases where this has been possible.
Other than that I really enjoy it!

I take it that, if you import images first, then if you import teams it just re-imports the images again? Rather than using the images you already imported?

- this happens to me only when i play the pass to early. lately i've been more patient, waiting a little longer, for my fellow players to move in position
just workarounds... i know. needs polish by konami.

Possibly, but possibly not.
I know the images are specified in the .bin files for each team but if the original image you already imported and the one referenced in the .bin file are the same file name & size then it might not need to re-import it? Then again it might not even bother to look if there is an existing image and just re-import it into another slot regardless.
That answer was probably not much use to you, but I started off thinking one way and then went the other way mid reply lol

I agree about the full passing bar and a player close to you taking the pass instead when really it should have gone past them, especially at full power. That is particularly annoying when trying to spread the play out or switch sides for example.
I have had a few AI offsides, but not many. They definitely do happen though. My defensive line is quite low though, so maybe you get more if you play a high line?

Oh just so many issues off the pitch. The game plays a beautiful game of football most of the time. But the broken online, boring master league, my option files being messed up already and horrible visuals are spoiling what could be the best PES of all time.Mine were all fluid and lag free. I will just play the odd exhibition game with friends locally and play FIFA 17 for career and online.
I am fed up with Konami because they always seem to get something right but everything else wrong.

Besides i can hardly understand most of your critics, it seems you did not dig into the editing routines of PES 2016 and 2017.
Of course, your backed up file does not contain the image files. The Graphics are imported onto PS4 hdd and are only linked to the teams and competitions - even when importing the bins, which contain the graphics. So, if you want to use it on the new PS4, upload the file into cloud. Copy all kits, emblems etc onto a USB flash drive.
On New PS4 download your saved Edit file, which contains all the edited data aswell as the link Information for all imported graphics.
In the end you will have to manually import just the graphics INTO THE CORRECT SECTIONS.
After that everything will be fine
Or Export every Team onto a USB and reimport onto new PS4, maybe in the meantime the Konami Patch, which fixes the crashing error is available, which will make importing easier.
But this way needs to manually import competition emblems and editing competition names etc again.
If your file is good so far, i would choose the first method, because it is the easier way
Did they feel the same way? Because I do as well, I thought Final Pass' comments were spot on. So that makes at least four of us.
After a rough couple of games with Liverpool against blue Chelsea and Everton, the game served me up a couple more blues, Leicester and City. No blues in the results though, which were far from the 0-1 and 1-2 losses of the previous 2 games. 4-1 against Leicester and 3-0 against City put that PES-smirk back on my face and a further desire to play the sh*t out of PES (that one goal against was even because I made a bad pass from a goal kick, straight into Vardy's feet).
Little by little, I'm easing into this game, figuring stuff out. one-two passes can be utterly deadly close to the box, as the first passer will run into it, making a well timed through lob able to put him one on one. Manual crosses get better every time, now that I know the players which just should never try them under any circumstance. I'm figuring out which players fit best into which position, Origi surprised me by scoring 3 against Leicester, the first time he's done anything beyond nicking the odd goal, he seems to have a good partnership with Grujic. Some AI teams will pack their whole teams in defense. I'm kicking the ball around midfield without any pressure from the AI, and then realize, Oh shit they've actually gone and parked the damn bus!

My issues with PES 2017 are just a personal opinion, seems to have upset gerd though.

Been a pes lover since Pes 1. Had all pes on ps2 inclusive all winning eleven games(my absolute favourite was we9 liveware evolution). I did never even give a thought to fifa. But on ps3 it wasnt the same, and a few years i went over to fifa. But those years i always had hopes that "this year im sure konami will have it right as the ps2 games" ....but no. Its been a lot of sad years...something been missing in life .
But this year it feels awesome to say that konami FINALLY got Pes back! Im so happy.
Even tho there is things they can do better, i havent found anything that completly ruins the game, its just small things.
The variation in all parts of the game is truly amazing. Playing ML with fulham, started up with 2 matches that felt quite easy, not too easy but i controlled the games and won both. The third game was a rival derby away against qpr, and what pressure they showed up with. Gave me no time on the ball and smashed me 3-0. Not fun to lose, but felt good in a game review aspect, cause didnt feel cheated, just that they shocked me and i couldnt come up with a tactical solution to change the game.
Most things about this game is amazing, so instead i will mention some minor problems that i hope they will change for next year
- the turf! As many other been saying. Just not look right!
- the headers are too soft. Im not saying all headers should have more power, but when a perfect cross meets the head of an unmarked lukaku it feels like the ball dies, and lose all power.
- the ball lose the speed too fast on the grass, specially on wet fields. Only time in real football it lose its speed like that is in VERY wet fields, when the referee almost about to cancel the game cause its too wet. And thats not often. Here its everytime its raining.
-the ai is too good to avoid offside, and when its offside its with 0.5 metres.
When the ai had the ball i controlled my last defender and saw their striker had full speed to get a through ball....ran up to get him offside, but in the moment i started to run, he stops in a very unrealistic way to not get offside.

I wrote to Konami 5 times in the last 5 years asking for a selector. All i got is an automatic generated reply each and everytie.
No offense but unless you know someone writing to them is useless.
