PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Oh shoot,
bradcast would be awesome without those crazy zooms.

Thanks anyway mate

Funny thing is Arsenals old ground Highbury used a similar angle in real life and they used to zoom in like that. . .an Arsenal fan in Konami perhaps?

Master League - Superstar Difficulty game is absolutely mentally frustrating. Feels sluggish, cumbersome and clunky. AI players swarm all around my player on the ball and I have no confidence when on the ball at all. Play passes to players who take a touch and BAMN! ball taken off them by a CPU player instantly! Players take an age to turn and change direction. Its too frustrating, too sluggish. Colour me disappointed and sad.

So why not drop the difficulty down a notch or two? Sounds like it would fix your problem.

you can only use 1024x1024 kit pngs if you want every team in the game with full kits

Dude, I tried importing a high res kit and apply it as a lower res in game. Slight drop in sharpness up close, which isn't a problem, but there are some weird results like colour/pixel bleed and blocking/artefacts on Emblems and sponsors. I reckon to get them the tidiest for 1024 they may need to be created at 1024. Could be talking nonsense there and just the game.

that probably sounds right as the image would be condensed

It really isn't too bad looking at all to be honest. Detail from gameplay cam just the same and holds good until you zoom right in, and it is just team emblems and some sponsors that suffer. Other details hold fine.

Do find it a bit weird that with the slot number being publicised a fair while ago that kit creators didn't do 1024 first, but then I do get the desire for these artists to show their work at it's best.

Master League is fun for a while but grates quickly in my opinion. The whole presentation, ease of signing players, lack of stadia and huge number of night game is an immersion killer.

I tested something earlier too. I transferred my edit file to USB and Cloud Storage as I will be buying the PS Pro in November and thought it would be wise to back-up my saves. When I imported the edit back onto the PS4 System Storage it had fake kits etc. NOT happy as I can't be bothered to edit everything/spend hours importing everything again.

I go through moments of loving this game and then back to hating it again.

That's Konami in a nutshell !!!

probably,
i mean it looks amazing for coach mode or if you're looking at your mates playing..

but if you are dribbling or send a through pass to those areas i mostly of the time end up losing the ball

HaHa! Never realised the COM is a bit tougher when you play it at VERSUS matches as opposed to standard Exhibition.

Anyone played at the Estadio beira rio during the day? The grass looks gorgeous! Why can't every stadium be like this? Just Konami things lol

OMG.. IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!! I FINALLY GOT A PENALTY FROM A CONTROLLED FAKE DIVE (ie. simultaneously pressing L1+L2+L3+R3). I was AC Milan losing 1-0 against BARI, and I was in the 92nd minute (final minute of time added on), I was in the box... controlling Suso... I got nudged by a defender (from body contact), and as im leaning I instinctly do the L1+L2+L3+R3. Whistle is blown, and like everytime before (particularly in pes16), I was expecting a yellow card.... but no.. I was awarded a penalty. First time ive ever seen this. Now the footage is poor, as I wasn't expecting it, and my phone camera wasn't ready, but if you look at the start of the following video you'll see the defender didn't slide takle, and I took a roll - aka fake dive. Unfortunately the same highlights weren't reapeated at the end game highlights, ie. they only show the penalty kick. Anyways here is the video:
And I immediately checked suso's stats.. he doesn't have a "malicious" skill card which I thought was the skill required to gain easy free kicks/penalties. Suso does however have "weaving" and another special dribbling attribute. This game is just amazing.. something new every time I play it.

You should be ashamed :p

I know I won't be playing you any time soon :p

Didn't they say a while back that the lighting was the cause for the pitch colours and that's maybe why it's harder to fix than just changing the turf? I have noticed if you use different camera angles how the grass can look better or worse.

..Like Ramos swearing he didn't fake the "being hit in the face instead of handling the ball", I swear i didn't fake my dive/excessive rolling... the defender lunged into me, so much so, that my thumb and forefinger instinctly pressed down on L1+L2+L3+R3. There was nothing else i could do :P

Master League is absurd. Been playing with a friend and the CPU scored 3/5 free kicks in the past two matches. You don't even want to know the scoreline in our Juventus match. I don't think I've ever been beaten so badly in my entire life. Bumped the difficulty down to Professional which I haven't done since I first started playing PES. Their conversion rate is so high. :BORED:

Seriously look at all the videos that little jumped up kids are posting on here, OHH THE BEST GAME OF MY LIFE and all the goals are identical, Far post 2-3 metres high and from inside the box. It's like a futsal game...

If they enjoy it it's fine, I don't. So no need to lie about what I said unless you can post a quote.

It may be time to play a different game then. Ive done that for the last 10 or so years. But this year is fantastic.

Seriously though if you dont like it then dont play it ;)

I think I've now lasted longer playing this than the last three PES games combined.

Passing is great. Dribbling is tough coming from PES 2013 but very rewarding, and the differences between players are a lot more obvious. I'm still used to 2013 where you could dribble out of trouble and pass it out of the back with pretty much anyone. Cost me a lot of shocking goals so far.

Crossing, again coming from PES 2013 where it worked about once in 25 tries, feels really nice. And long passing is now not only useful but more or less required if you're playing as anyone other than the very top teams. The tactics options are very nice too and make an immediate, obvious difference when applied.

My main complaints are slide tackling, which feels a bit too slippery, and the occasional baffling referee calls. Gave away a penalty after a spectacular tackle that send the ball flying into the adboards last night.

Gave the online a try last night, too. After ten minutes of unsuccessfully searching for an opponent using a similar level of team to me, I gave up and set all the criteria to Any. Within fifteen seconds, Barcelona turned up :'). Very good match though, I lost 0-1 to a very early Neymar goal. My Tottenham side cut them open a few times but Kane and Son bottled the finish. Opponent managed to hit the post late on too.

Going to spend the weekend getting into it properly. Early impressions are very good.

Same here mate, superstar is hardcore and so it should be, konami have the difficulty settings right this year, Iv also dropped to professsional, it's the best setting for me also.

Definitely Professional plays the best. And it's also challenging enough for me.

Also what I found out, that in this game you need to use Close Control as mush as possible. It really opens the beauty. Those small touches make everything so much more fluid, looks better, feels better, and in the end you get tons of fouls! I even decided to remap my controller buttons basically switching R1 and R2 around. This way I would use close control much more instead of sprinting, as my finger is used to be placed on the sprint button unfortunately and bash it whenever it is needed or not. Now it will be on close control.

So, more Close Control and less Sprint is the way to enjoy this game, I feel.

Uurgh online is a mess. Lag and stutter and everyone still plays 4-3-3. Crossing is the new throughball.

Yeah, crossing really is this year's exploit. Far too precise, and somehow the striker always magically manages to get away from the defenders. The least realistic aspect about this game I've found so far.

Depending on the team you use, I guess, but I found through balls and crosses to be far too easy to pull off on professional and top player. Not quite as easy on super star. Also, gegenpress is far too effective on professional, I found, just press them high and you'll win the ball in advanced areas time and again and score because of it.

Could be. However I really dislike AI turning on their frantic speeds on anything above Professional to the point it gets really unrealistic anymore. It seems like they are doped. I guess it's what you are willing to sacrifice here.

Sure thing. I might actually go down to top player, tinker with some formations and see if it plays a bit better. When gameplay goes sluggish, super star is just impossible.

konami just mentioned you could make 1000 kits (not you could make 1000 lo res kits) really though they must still be afraid of getting in trouble over licenses if they keep putting limits on their pes edit mode
