PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

Started a master league today with pescara in serie a on superstar spent a while setting my team up as detailed as i could and my plans on building for future seasons so with that done i played my first game vs crotone away i thought i was going to tear them apart but they scored after just 5 minutes with a header from a corner and i was left chasing the game

I had a few half chances to equalize but was get countered a lot and my gk kept us in it with some great saves, in the 85th minute i cross it from the left and my cf bahebeck at the far post hits a scuffed volley downwards it bounces up and loops over the gk i was thinking thats in for sure but it just went wide couldn't believe it and to top things off while set to all out attack crotone are through they hit the bottom on the post it comes back out they shoot again but my gk saves it brilliantly but they rifle in from the edge of the box on the 3rd attempt 2-0 game over

Such a great match it was end to end at times then congested and hard to get chances even tho i lost it was such a great match i really hope it stays this way and is as challenging in the next games looks like it could be a relegation battle ahead
 
Is it true that the PS4 can't see USB drives bigger than 8GB? Can't get my 64GB drive to work. I'm formatting it as FAT on my Mac, not sure if that's causing problems too :(
 
After installing Cristianos option files I decided to start a league to keep me occupied while waiting for the rest of the OF's to start a Ml. Surprising to many I chose Leeds and had 3 great matches on top player, manual and 15 mins. . .I won the first match away to Barnsley 1-2 after leading 0-2. . .. . and went on to come back and draw against Blackburn on their turf an outstanding game of football. . .I made a mess of trying to save the game and ended up with a snapshot of a throw-in. . .. . the Blackburn match started off in dry overcast weather and ended up pissing rain and Leeds kits went from white to grey which was impressive . . .I pulled off a couple of cracking moves but in the end I was lucky to scramble a draw with a goal from my sub after resorting to an all out assault on their goal. .. .next game I got beaten 1-0 by Brighton in heavy rain . . . I have to say if there's faults in the game I'm too engrossed in the gameplay to notice. . .what a f***in game .. roll on Master League.

Nah, PS4 can read my 16GB and 32Gb no problem, so might be the mac thing. Make sure no other USB ports are being used, as apparently that can cause bother.
 
-We need to know what triggers the AI to want to win the game instead of boring us to death. Is it adaptive AI or tactics or what. Sick of 0-0 0-1 scores

-Simulated games have no cards or injuries, Very poor.

- Anyone winning penalties or injuries frequently yet?

- I know some kids are excited about the highlights but I've been seeing the same goals , no chipped efforts, no one on ones and more importantly no powered headers.

Is anyone still playing this on PA1?

I've been tempted to switch over to manual because the passing does feel at times too easy, but then I look at my results in the games I've been having and its doesn't exactly reflect that I've been finding it too easy (only winning by the one goal or drawing with the occasional loss).

Also I'm really conflicted on the whole manual passing removing individuality of players etc, but thinking about it surely the individuality is hampered using PA1 seeing as nearly every pass is perfectly accurate?
 
Just checked the assistant mode. Seems you can select playing as a coach/assistant in exhibition and myclub. You can also choose 'play as an assistant' in any other cup/league mode, but then both teams will play in coach mode, so that does not help if you want to start a league and play all the teams in it, and want to choose each match which team to play and which team to let be played by the cpu. Aarrggh. I'd like it so much to be able to play more teams in a league! It used to be in PES that you could do that....
I think this could easily be implemented again if Konami let's us free select the controllers to the side or to the middle. Why should the game decide were each controller goes? Juce always makes a nifty little program called free side select that enabled that in PES PC version. Why can't KONAMI do that for the PS4 version?
This game is soooo good, that I really want to play it how I like to play it (like in the old days). The above is a restriction of joy.
Is there any mail address that the PES guys and girls read and to which I could send a request for a patch (free style select or triangle-assitant in every mode)? And anyone of you with me in this? Or am I the only one who likes to play more teams than 1 in a league (switching playing styles!)?

PA 0 is not really manual, it's quite assisted as well. If we compare it to PES 2016, this year's PA 0 I would say is somewhere in between PA 0 and PA 1 of last year. But it is way more difficult this year because of the AI's good defensive awareness.
 
I just witnessed one of the coolest/saddest/realistic things I have ever seen in a football game.

So in injury time Lucas Moura gets on the end of a Verratti ball and heads it downward to Buffon's left.

It hits the post then the back of Buffon before crossing the line for what would prove to be the winning the goal.

Thing is, none of the PSG players celebrated at all. More than that, Lucas Moura looked borderline depressed.

That was so fucking cool. I'll trim it and post it.
 
When u apply live data the kits go funny the league emblem either goes or goes askew. Y won't konami ever release patches updates without it mucking up the game

I have to take back what I said about running with FB's from one end to the other, it is possible but what I did do was try that with a variety of other sides, 15 sides to be exact and even tho there were about 4 teams which I could do that with the others I couldn't was very difficult, which tells me this game has a lot of variety more than I expected it, I first treated this problem expecting it to have the same underlying issues as 16 but that's not the case which I'm glad, Iv never come across this kind of depth of individuality since the good Ol days, I also initially thought the OF's would've effected the game but it doesn't, really looking forward to pes18 if they keep this up, credit to bhatti for the direction he has taken this game to.

You control one area of your team. Defense, Midfield, Attack. In a 4-4-2 formation, if you choose role control you can control the 4 defenders, or the 4 midfielders, or the 2 attackes.

Switch mate, especially if you play online divisions, great matches against like minded people.

First of all, not sure "manual" really is completely manual, I think L2+ X is. Second, much of the individuality lies in other things as well, balance, technique, speed etc.

As you say, Pa 1 takes away passing individuality as well since it's hard to misplace them with most players regardless if it is Toni Kroos or Flamini.

I mentioned this earlier. I would really love to see free sides select. To me, playing all cups and leagues on my own but playing as each team is as good as playing ML. I used to do this on PES5.

I really am playing a different game to you. As I am struggling on full manual in ML on Professional. The AI attacks all different ways. I have had 2 players injured and are out for over 6 weeks and I've won a penalty. All in just 2 games.

For me at the moment this is the best PES since PES5. Although I know it's early days yet. I really cannot see the non attacking AI that a few have mentioned. I'm sure we are playing different games ;)

I set up a cup competition last night, had two epic games as Real v PSG but had a slight issue at the end. 2 legged, 1st game away was 0-0. 2nd game PSG took an early lead, i got one back before half time, still losing on away goals I chased the game in the 2nd half and then bizarrely PSG started chasing the game too, maxed out their att level and I scored on the break in injury time to win it 2-1.

Not sure what happened, do away goals count in the Konami cup?
