PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

I'm very jealous! The UK store version unlocks at midnight on Thursday, but ShopTo (they're a UK retailer) usually send the game out early (in-fact, I've just spoken to their support team and they've told me they're sending out orders today and tomorrow, so HOPEFULLY it should arrive between tomorrow and Wednesday).

This desperation for a game takes me back to being a kid...

You're a bigger man than me Deco, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the demo about five times now. Couldn't even stop myself doing the webchat thing with ShopTo and asking when they'll post it (I noticed that the release date is Thursday rather than Friday). :EMB:

Oh God Chris. . you're in a bad way mate lol.

Shopto is 35 quid... am I reading it wrong? If im not, im ordering. I dont believe it, everywhere before it was like 44+... whats going on? :D

If a ps4 global editor is made then yes

And if there is not one made how will you change the gameplay? By changing tactics or going through each player individually?

I stated doing that on PES2015 to make the shots and dribbling less overpowered but took ages. I gave up in the end.

not sure if you watch alot of football, but this link should help you understand there are bigger glitches in real life than pes made by really big name players like neymar for example. check it out, also if these misses were in pes, you will hear alot the game is broken etc.

This is a really good point Jimi.

I view scripting as when I suddenly cannot control my defender, and not when my striker fluffs a shot. There was a hidden stat on old PES which was "Consistency" and could only be seen in the editor. So some players would have a rating of 7 out 8, some 8, some as low as 1. I think that and "Form" and "Mentality" had an affect on the outcome of a shot. As your video shows top players can miss easy chances. I put it down to the players more than scripting.

Consistency related to the form arrows, and the likelihood of them being up or down. Mentality was how people reacted to adversity, whether they stood tall and tried to claw a game back or rolled onto their backs and played dead.

I see stuff like the keepers parrying out to onrushing strikers as a cheap way of making the striker seem more effective. Something like this has always been in PES - 2011's MLO made it really clear that better DMs often simply have passes sucked into them, rather than them being in the exact right position to cut more passes out - and generally I can handle the game using tricks like this as long as I can't immediately tell it's happening. The problem is when, as with the shots that hit the exact same bit of woodwork twice, it's just not being done in a subtle enough way.

I don't mind a keeper parrying to the striker if the shot was impossible to handle, or the ball was a bit off to the side and the striker had to really reach to get to it. I wouldn't mindmind as long as sometimes they parried and a striker would slide in to try and shoot but JUST miss the ball.

But if it's always perfectly to the striker's feet, from a nothing shot, then it's obvious what's going on.

Yeah I agree mate, a bug in the game to me is when you see it consistently not just once or twice, the scenario with the keeper parrying it to another player or lukaku hitting the post, now I'm hoping its classic PES where it happens once in a while and it's a moment where we all talk about it and that's what PES is about, BUT if it's happening consistently then yes there's a problem only time will tell when we all start smashing master league.

i wont do it without the editor, I haven't the time

£32 if you're a gold member!
Nice
I dont order enough from them sadly and iirc my PS4 pre order didnt count towards points back then.

Im wavering, I want it and i know ill probably end up getting it... but at the same time, theres something telling me im going to regret getting it. I do it annually with all the sports titles and wind up letting it get dust after a couple of weeks.

I enjoyed 16, but never really got stuck into it as the small irks, just sucked me out of it. Im not wholly convinced they are gone and with that the longevity of the game (which is Master League for me) is still in question.

Im arguing with myself as I type this.... ive even just listed a load of games for sale to make me feel better that im not hoarding them and wasting money :D

I want to be turned on, I want PES to make me want it. Ive got it in my basket on Shopto and now Simply games - if I bite, its got to be within the hour... OR I wait on the reviews coming in from the US digital boys overnight.

I shouldnt be in this position at 36 years of age, im fannying about more than my kids when I take them to Toys R Us :CURSE:

Didn't play.com used to do this and not actually send them until day before??

Possibly, been at least 6 years since I ordered from them... called Rakuten now, no idea what they sell. :P

Anyway will post here of course if the game does actually come tomorrow, but would guess Wednesday at the best. :)

I totally feel you!

I have many weaknesses, but jealousy is none of them.
But reading the past few pages about people having it already, brings it out more and more :P

Maaaaaan.....

Just got this text from SimplyGames:

"Your SimplyGames order for PES 2017 has now been despatched via Royal Mail 1st Class post. Many thanks"
Fuck it, im in.

Scratch it, its making me setup a paypal account that I dont want. God is telling me not to buy the game

Gone Shopto, just easier for an old fella like me. Not expecting it until Wednesday if im lucky.

I'm 33, used to love Pes/WE and thought every version since the ps2 days were shit, including last years. I moved to FIFA, but have had the full version of pes 2017 since Thursday and it is brilliant. Genuinely brilliant.

Set pieces aren't good, camera should be higher for replays, but that's about it.

So many great "pes moments". Get it, reviews will undoubtedly be very high.

Mate I just knocked down a few sleeping pills cause it's gotten to the point where I can't stop thinking about the game only 14 hrs left and looks like I'll have to take the rest of the week off work. I'm trying to hold my shit together but comments like yours ain't helping.

For the first time in years I've cancelled my shopto pre order and gone with simply games, fingers crossed that I haven't left it too late for possible delivery tomorrow.

Although I'm enjoying this I'm done playing against AI now. 6 games without even a foul against me in a row this afternoon. Every tackle is perfect, the catch up is ridiculous. They're so predictable to play against when they're on the ball yet so frustrating to play with the ball as everything they do is done with perfection.
I need some human error to play against. Fair points?
