PES 2017 PlayStation & Xbox Discussion Thread

I played on default speed for a week and initially it was exciting but dribbling was hard and had no time to shoot .. . so switched back to -1 and had time to breathe, dribble and shoot. . .-1 the only way to play the game.

Now about that option file:
You have to fiddle around with folders to install it, right?
It's not too fiddly, you just make a folder on a FAT32-formatted USB stick called WEPES (if it's the same as last year) and the game will be able to access anything you drop into that folder.

It'll be a lot easier with the one-file-per-team format, and even easier with the one-file-for-all-teams format (previously you'd have hundreds of kits, badges, manager photos etc. in the same folder and you'd be wading through them for ages trying to find the right kit to assign - especially if you can't remember off the top of your head what Everton's third kit looks like and you have to Google a photo of it so that you could pick it out from the lineup).

And what about DLC updates from KONAMI? Does it overwrite the install? Can DLC updates be deactivated until a new option file comes out?
I don't think we know much about this yet, but Konami have rolled together transfer updates and player form updates, so they'll be pretty regular. I can't imagine they'll have done that and made such great improvements to edit mode if they cancel each-other out!

Previously they would reset the affected players, managers and transfers - but the imported graphics (badges, kits etc.) have survived.

will there be ps4 pro 4K HDR support, or maybe a patch later as with uncharted 4?
Sony have released a list of games that will have PS4 Pro support - it's not final but PES isn't on there unfortunately (I imagine Konami have been stretched enough to produce PES 2017 as-is, so I seriously wouldn't expect them to produce anything for it until PES 2018).

Existing games receiving graphical upgrades:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Uncharted 4
Infamous: First Light
Paragon
Shadow of Mordor
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

Future games:
FIFA 17
Battlefield 1
Mass Effect Andromeda
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
For Honor
Spider-Man
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Watch Dogs 2
Killing Floor 2
Days Gone
Far Point (VR)
Horizon: Zero Dawn

Sigh, I was waiting for that... The other mods can verify, the user details (including IP address) never go away... I can upload dashcam footage of my journey home from work at the same time that the post was made if necessary (though I imagine I'd be accused of putting together that essay while stopped at some traffic lights or something)..........

I just looked up his IP number on google maps and it auto-zoomed in straight into your bedroom

You'll get more help in the PC thread here Deco.

I've asked Official PES on twitter and hoping they answer.

guys check out this AI goal from a guy streaming earlier with the retail copy that's leaked early in the middle east.

Amazing screamer of a goal on first time volley :WORSHIP:, cant remember the last time ai scored in the top corner of the net.

I should also be able to get the retail version tonight/tomorrow. Let me know if you want to know anything, but I'm not that good, and skipped the last few PES versions as I thought it was crap. This demo is pleasing enough so will buy it.

Ok they do have it and I will get it tonight. Prob wont have much chance to play until tomorrow.

I'm not in the UK if anyone is curious.

Are there any independent UK game shops that break street dates any more? There used to be a guy within 5-mile radius of where I live that did it, but his shop disappeared a few years back. :(

I know someone said I can buy and option file to have my kits installed. But can I not do it the old way, like last year?
I dont begrudge people trying to make money and im sure they have put time into doing this, but if im paying 40 quid for the game, I dont really want to pay another 10 for a kit DLC... doing the names is easy enough for me, so im mainly in it for the kits.

So can I just use the 2016 kits in 2017? Im not fussed if they are not the most up to date, I just like them looking nicer than the default offering from Konami.

Glory days, used to pester shops, even ring the same one and use a different voice :D Or get my mum to have a go and say im on my deathbed, only got 1 day left to play the game ;)

You can, the image formats are the same - but these guys are giving away their 16/17 kits free too, you know... They're only charging for the single-file version that saves all the faffing. If you don't mind the faffing then no problemo!

Bahaha, I never resorted to the latter but I've got to admit, I definitely did the former. The bloke who used to break street dates would say "I've got a delivery coming in this afternoon, ring back in a few hours", so I'd ring back in half an hour using a different voice in-case it had turned up early... Always for the latest PES too, never for anything else.

I hope it's okay to post it: http://pesgalaxy.com/blog/index.php/Entry/434-PESGalaxy-Patch-goes-Playstation-4/
It will be free.

This game is a joy to behold. If they keep the gameplay like this and don't add scripting then it will be the best footy game ever. This is fun fun fun. I can only comment on Top Player as I find it too hard on Superstar, but it is such a fantastic feeling to defend in this game. I never feel that the ball is going to constantly drop to the CPU, if the striker gets passed one challenge I never feel that they will 100% score because (a) they could miss (b) my keeper could save it and (c) another defender could get a block in. In the older games I normally panic when defending because the CPU normally gets the bounce of the ball but in this the ball can literally go anywhere. I can't really explain it well enough.

I just played 3 games as Althetico Madrid, against Arsenal, Barcelona, and Boca Juniors. All on full manual. Each game was different. I struggled against Arsenal and lost 1-0, against Barcelona I was 1-0 and it was just me defending throughout and trying to catch them on the break. They were getting many chances but my defenders were heroic. There were balls flying in, strikers jumping up and missing balls, eventually Suarez scored a spectacular equaliser.

Finally against Boca it was 0-0, only 4 shots each in total but it was a fantastic game. I've missed games like that from old PES5. There was one point when Boca played a long high ball into the corner, my defender was running to get the ball and suddenly their striker jumped straight into my defender and gave away the foul. I could just hear the commentator say "what a stupid free kick to give away, the defender was going nowhere." Excellent please keep this fouls in it Konami. Then in injury time I kicked a hopeful long ball up field, their defender passed back to their keeper, and with no pressure he kicked the ball but slipped over. I was hoping to knock the ball back in but the whistle went.

Really excited by this. I feel like a little kid again. Can't wait for the full game. I recorded two of the matches, will upload later and just pick point out the bits I mentioned. :)

I used to call up GAME all the time just to see if the demo disc had arrived! Glorious days.
