PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

Okay you lunatics I am pressing pass and counting later.
Hahaha, my "1.5 seconds" was an estimate! :D

Easiest way to compare the difference is playing the FIFA demo for five minutes, even offline the response time difference between the two is massive (and not just because of the speed of FIFA overall).

That's not to say I think it's realistic in FIFA - but it certainly makes it (too) easy to put a passing move together.

I'm on a love hate relationship with this game. I just want full control off everyone. I hate that the CPU runs for the ball when I'm controlling a guy when running for a ball. Drives me nuts both attacking and defensibly.

Defense needs some tweaking, I'm sick of one of my CB's running a tad forward when they are marking someone making the guy they was marking free for a perfect pass. Why!

Guys seriously \i went and looked at this. Yes button presses are not instantaneous but it is dependent on the situation

I was racing for a 50 / 50 ball against Schweinsteiger top player and pressed x as I was running up to toe poke and the player did a little pass when he got there (think it was Pienaar for me)

The longest shooting delay I had was when Michu was trying to hold off De Jong and some other defender and the shot would not release till he got away from them. This did not bother me at all

tried the fan camera, like it but, it would be better if we could zoom it in a little.

Why does Konami make camera angles but gives us no options with it?

Same thing with the broadcast camera.

I too feel that there is a direct relationship between the duration of the "lag" and the type of task. Take shooting as an example. If you are running to a ball you've just knocked on, and press shoot, shooting is pretty much instantaneous. On the other hand, if you're inside the box, with your back towards the goal, and press shoot, it takes a much longer time to shoot. Same with passing.

load up BAL and watch the CPU move the ball around fluidly, which you can't fully do in the match because of the delay

Interesting point. Could you provide us with a video of this fluid play; let's see what we can do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlORwGLc7N4you should watch this video ,then you can understand what is the button delay.

We need a poll: how many of us see something undesirable in this video?

To me it looks like a reasonable delay it takes for the player to perform the action. Varies depending on context. It also seems that CPU players take the same time to perform their actions.

But maybe my glasses have a tint of rose. On the other hand, just lost a match 2-1 against superstar, so I am in my PES rage mode. :)

I quite like the delay myself. Watching the players move before passing etc. the animations tend to play out more fluidly and realistic than say fifa which turns me off with the jittery movement and animation not matching the power of a shot, you still see tiny toe pokes sending the ball flying.

I just found it crazy that some claimed there's no delay (or input lag or however you describe it) at all.

I think the "lag" many talk about is just the natural thing where a player needs to get to the ball or to shift the body before they can pass/shoot. I'm fine with that to be honest. I just try to think ahead of what I want to do and anticipate for it.

Yes it is frustrating when you want to shoot but the player needs to get his foot right before he can shoot and then the defender comes and the chance is gone, but then doesn't that happen in real football??

On a completely unrelated note, this was available in Japan:

If you press the pass button before the player received the ball, the player will do the passing straight away most of the time (without trapping).

I like this 'button lag' myself.

There's no button lag to like in the instance you described, because it isn't there. Pre-loading for passes and shots works great because the result is instantaneous. It's the delay for most other passes when you're already in possession of the ball and for a lot of shots that is frustrating for some.

got to say the patch has given the game a subtle boost for me, a few tweaks here and there that I have noticed which may well be placebo but I don't care as long as I am enjoying it ;)

anyway, the main one being that the AI have commited many more fouls than usual, I have also finally seen the AI miss a 1 on 1 chip shot and finally the AI keeper seems to come rushing out more often and you can exploit that if you can get your player their first.

another thing which may become a downside if i find it becomes too easy to score this way, but manual R2 long passing is beautiful and if weighted properly can ge behind the defenders, but i have seeen instaces where it's beauty couple with the keepers rushing out has led me to have one or 2 easy goals where i have simply beaten the keeper to the ball and tapped it in

Haven't had an injury before, but today lost Mertens from Napoli squad for a duration of 14 weeks. Again, could be a coincidence, but still a nice addition to what I have seen before.

Injuries happen severely when players are tired and the CPU fouls you!

happened twice in two games to me when the game first came out.

I've just downloaded the most recent DLC, which told me it contained transfer update data. The transfers haven't been updated, and I couldn't see anything else new either. What exactly did I just download?

Same situation on PC. What we've downloaded in this data pack doesn't seem to be very tangible - few visual changes for MyClub UI and online/MyClub related files/bugfixes. No transfers yet, despite message saying otherwise - it seems to be a generic message which is displayed every time OF version needs to be upgraded.

Exactly the same here if you dont use Live Updates. If you do then they are updated.
