PES 2015 Discussion Thread (PS4/XB1)

Going to upload 2 more highlights

What i love most is the fact that anything can hppen. Just had a moment where Callejon crossed the ball and it clipped Ramos on his thigh and the ball was goalbound but Cassilas rose like superman to punch it away. Woulda looked better if it went in though.

There are lots of goalkeeper animations this year. Also saw Ronaldo toe poke a throughball that curved perfectly for Benzema to unfortunately hit it wide

In other words, if FIFA gives us gold and PES gives us shit we must say PES is better? I thought Fifa fanboys reasoned like this, not PES ones.

It's more fashionable to hate on Fifa and in-grained in every pes fan as some still perceive it as more hardcore based on its ps2 heritage..lol..it's been far from that for to many moons!..and has become so simplified.

Took me a while to drop old perceptions and prejudices but you can't knock where eas games at now.

Tides change but some will always embrace pes more however mediocre it becomes.

The face of gaming and its landscape has changed..back in the day the Japanese dominated but they don't have the same production values and there balance sheet takes centre stage over there ip.

I'm still enjoying the demo but purely on a gameplay level it's currently a world away from eas game.

 No it doesn't. I'm a huge PES fanboy and I can admit that. Anyway, think a more progressed code must have been shown at Gamescom. Hopefully that's the case.

Isn't it the other way around? I think I read somewhere (probably Adam's Twitter) that the Demo was the most recent code till the date of its release.

Maybe they aren't allowed to announce it until FIFA is released?

They do have real names, there are just lots of Ireland teams with unknown IDs so it is impossible to say at the moment how many teams and which teams exactly are licensed in the Other Teams (Europe) section.

so no Aston Villa but Aston Villa stadium pic on the menus?

Missed these. Really like them.

Disappointed to see 'Italian League' and 'Italian 2nd Division' instead of Serie A and Serie B.

Yesterday I asked Adam on Twitter what the Team will be working on till release. What will they be changing, adjusting, fine-tuning. He never answered. I think it would be good for all of us to know that.

I would love them to further smooth-out transitions between animations. Sometimes there is like a mini-stutter until the player "understands" what comes next, lol.

Even if the game is far from perfect I honestly find it hard to tell what MUST be fixed before release. It's not like last year where I could think of at least 10 things that had to be addressed before the deadline.

I mean... of course they should really work on presentation, broadcast feeling, color palette, etc. But in terms of gameplay, hmmm... I don't know. Everything I can think of, is more for next year's version than for this one.

I think it's important for another demo to be released just before the game comes out. Two months is a long long time and I'd want to see what has changed before forking out for the game.

That's why I always thought we should be getting either a beta and a demo, or just a demo that is closer to release.

I have always said Konami should release a online beta every year. They did one for the 11vs11 mode last year after release, but I would like a MLO/MyClub, or online friendlies one.

Konami need to make sure online is stable and ready to go from release, and not two/three months later.

I like how there's always rationalisation for what percentage a build is, what region it's come from and what TV you're playing on. As if option files weren't enough work, now we have to set up custom colour calibrations, alter the resolution, make sure one of the 35 permutations of assistance settings is correct...all that just so that two people can say they're getting the same experience. FFS.

All fanboyism aside, there's no way anyone in their right mind could say PES 2015 is the best sports game based off of this demo, seriously. Only thing I can think of is that the code played at Gamescom was much more advanced and better.

Or simply the Fifa 15 code was far away from the demo purposed

Or PES is just more awesome.

If I were voting I know where my vote would go based on what I have played thus far. Amazing how many fifa fans are dissatisfied with EAs rehash yet the disgruntled PES fans of Evo Web feel otherwise.

From a gameplay perspective and i am sure more so when you play a humam opponent this game is great. Hoping to do that this weekend.

I personnaly after played with the two demo, several games, tests etc. on PS4, i like them both...
The perspective is different, even if they're football games, i can't honestly compare them because the approach and feeling are radically different from each other.
If you play to PES with a Fifa feeling and habits, you will not able to judge the game from what it purposes, and vice-versa.

But in finishing terms, the PES demo feels like the "demo 1" from previous version so it's uncomparable, there will be a little gap between what we are playing now and final code in november for sure...
Also, they removed few things we see in , no introduction, missing cuts-scenes, no manager's names, missings crowds reaction etc.
If we add the fact that the full game isn't done neither "gold" yet in Konami's studio...

The Fifa's demo is very well packaged, and pratically similar to the final version from reviewers i've read.

How is this for a goalmouth scramble

YouTube - PES2015DEMO goal mouth scramble

Damn! What the hell? Lol! Thx for this!

That "anything can happen / PES thing" was, what I was kinda missing last year.
In PES 2014 in the end it was slightly there, but way too less.

The more I play the demo, the more I feel it´s coming back.
I wasn´t thrilled at first either but it´s growing on me with every match.

Had an outstanding situation when I played it last:
CPU had a corner and my player defended by a header, but unfortunately the ball came to the opponent who stood near to the box and took a volleyshot at my goal.

My keeper (Casillas) jumps up, reaching for the ball and as he realizes that the shot misses the goal, he pulls his hands back to get a kick off.

Amazing! Never ever saw that before :)

Yeah my keeper also slid to clear a bad back pass and crapped or his player when he missed :APPLAUD:.

In another instance Rakitic took out kroos and injured him but when the tackle happened he immediately put up his hand to apologise. So many little nuances.

Nice!

These guys @KONAMI CAN do things right, it just should be a little more.

What I also like a lot is the way players look at their opponents when they attack (like you showed in that one clip when Messi looked @ Dante).
Or when players look at the goal before taking a shot.

That´s what I kinda dislike in the other game - which I enjoy too - as the players heads sometimes don´t really fit the movement they are making.

See this is what I find interesting because I find it easier to score and more attacking based, even on superstar.

Saying actually means fact when Fifa and pes for me(opinion not fact)go for a completelty different visual approach..the models on pes have a more dwarf like look like the ps2 days, but they are solid.

Tactical differences aside between teams isn't pes weakness it's the sum of its parts and the contrived nature of its gameplay..it's not free like it should be and control is still laboured(again in my opinion).

I'm a pes fanboy too..but it doesn't stop me seeing its gaping flaws and lightness...good game but not the promised land yet(opinion).

Still time though and it yet might be a megatron..

Don't want a FIFA v PES thing but sometimes you can make some comparisons.

For me, FIFA takes more liberties with its:

-movement physics (momentum/inertia/footplanting)
-dribbling model (its not as contextual as PES, and most players can dribble too well)
-player individuality (each PES player feels different, with a deep layer of stats which you can feel on the pitch);

which is why it feels more "free" and "fluid". It's only in recent years they've tried to address these 3 and they're still not on the level of pes (although the dribbling in PES 2014 was terrible and it was a bad game as well).

FIFA has a number of positives, definitely (for example the amazingly lifelike collision physics which add to the gameplay), and PES is always flawed and never perfect.

But until FIFA reaches or beats PES level in those 3 things above PES will be better for me (apart from PES 2014 which I thought was poor).

It's nothing to do with being disgruntled, Zee, more like credit where credit is due. FIFA 15 is actually pretty good this year and plenty of the PES faithful feel this way. If you read my impressions after the first day's play I fucking hated it but for me it was a grower.

Is it better than PES? It's going to be a few months before we can digest both games in retail form and make sound conclusions, but it's certainly a step-up from last-gen FIFA and should serve as a warning shot to PES at the very least. EA are getting their shit together.

+1 Bravo !!!
