PES 2015 Discussion thread. PC

I am running ATI 7970
using the radeon pro above I have managed to make it work somehow by forcing vsync and using triple buffer putting 75HZ for monitor....

however its still choppy not smooth at all its like screen is tearing and there is input lag with controller

as for the game itself.
-I am very surprised at gameplay looks actually promising
-through ball is god like though and goalies one on one are unreal
-I am sure that can be fixed with gameplay patches but the animations feel really good.

now my biggest problem is

are they serious with the graphics for this game.
feels like pes 2008 graphics

Gentlemen,

If that can help/interest anyone having issues with input lag/responsiveness I've spent a lot of time and I'm happy to report that I have found a setup which gave me entire satsifaction.

I have an AMD Radeon R9 290 so it involves the use of Radeon software, sorry for Nvidia users but I don't know what equivalent software could be used instead.

1/ Make sure in the PES settings that you use DirectInput instead of Xinput
2/ In Radeon Pro, create a profile for PES 2015.exe
3/ In Radeon Pro, "Tweaks" tab, set Vysync control to "Always On"
4/ In Radeon Pro, "Tweaks" tab, tick the "Triple buffering" option
5/ In Radeon Pro, "Tweaks" tab, tick the "Force Process High Priority" option
6/ In Radeon Pro, "Advanced" tab, set the "Flip Queue Size" to 0
7/ In Radeon Pro, right click on your Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 profile and click on "Apply Now".

Now you can lauch the game via Radeon Pro and voila, enjoy ;-)

Note that I am not claiming the above settings will give the game the level of responsiveness some of you would want as I believe it is simply not possible due to the engine desing/gameplay choices made by the developpers. It does however, at least in my case, clearly improves responsiveness and input lag compared to the default game setup.

And before you ask yes I have tried dozens of other settings (vsync off/on, limiting framerate, force refresh rate,...) as well as making use of a third party window borderless software (BorderlessGaming 6.5 if anyone is interested in trying it). At the end the above is what provides me the best results.

Also just to clarify a common misconception Direct3D triple buffering does not create input lag, in the contrary it helps minimizing it when using vertical synchronization (if you are interested like I am you'll easily find many detailed and technical articles on the subject on the internet). It only real drawback is that it increase GPU memory usage but to be honest on modern graphic cards the effect is pretty insignificant.

The other technology which is sometimes incorrectly named "triple buffering" consists in fact in rendering ahead buffers and that can indeed result in input lag but is useful to improve GPU performance. It is adressed in Radeon Pro with step /6 by forcing the Flip queue to 0 (by default AMD drivers has it set to 3)

Final summary, I'm just trying to help here I do not pretend to have indisputable truth or knowledge. The above recommendations are the result of my research on the topic/problem and the result of my personal testing.

Cheers

first of all thank you man for that useful entry.
I am on nvidia, so I decided to make screenshot of your setting's nvidia version for anyone on nvidia.

2h3ztat.jpg

I am using nvidia inspector (nvidia's RadeonPro)
you can use nvidia control panel too.
I used PES 2014 profile because I am too lazy for open new profile :)))
don't forget to add pes2015.exe and pes2015's settings.exe

I added two thing to your setting.
1- high quality texturing
2-fxaa on.

those settings added for improve game's graphic quality.

nice gaming everyone.

btw : nvidia calls "flip queue size" "maximum pre rendered frames" and it doesn't allow to set it "0".their programmers saying "0" is nonsense here, go for "1".so I did. :)

edit : "toggle FXAA indicator on off" is useless option.leave it at default/off.

hello guys i havent tried pes 2015 just so i take my time with pes 2013, i think pes 2013 is still playable with patches, i don't wanna go through a barrage of dissapointment yet or thrills im watching more videos on youtube these days about pes 2015 im just not ready yet

thanks.. can you post a screenshot ingame so i can see if you graphic ingame is like mine?
sorry for my bad english
I'm posting a couple, too (although they're from the demo). No SweetFX, no downsampling, nothing.

This is during gameplay (sorry for it being in jpg format but imgur doesn't like heavy images:

And this is during replays:

All in all graphics are OK, they would need a bit of colour more but I'm not that mad about graphics anyway.

allora è confermato che è un problema di LOD perchè da lontano la grafica è una schifezza.. assurdo essere regrediti ai tempi di pes6
It seems pes6 with bad LoD

My friend, thanks in advance for sharing this with us.
But can you tell us how do you check if lag is gone?
Because in match its very disputable.

The best way to check input lag in PES 2015 is to go to Free Training --> Free kick. There the game gives you a ball in an empty pitch which you can move around freely in due to indicate the spot for the free kick

You can check how the ball is rolling freely in pitch with the left stick and you will notice the lag with your settings.

Is it just in the games I've played or does the Ai not know how to cross the ball into the box from the wings ? Ai players have had loads of room to cross but didn't that needs fixed with fouls it would be nice to have free kicks and try to score from them.

I agree. At least if anyone has a couple of suggestions about reducing input lag it would be better to post a vine or sth

Otherwise the forum will be full of guides and solutions, leading for the rest of us to a world of chaos:CONFUSE:

Αlso there is a topic for this sublect to discuss

By the way, the demo is addictive. After a few more matches, I feel that the tagline "the pitch is ours" is wrong though.
It should have really been "THE PITCH IS YOURS" as I really feel a lot of freedom when playing with 0-bar passes and manual shooting.

WHAT I LIKE:

Controls
I feel like I can place the ball wherever I want, and that if I fail it's only because I missed something in the timing/power/direction of the pass/shot. It's the closest thing to the 'FIFA 11 freedom' (which I believe hasn't been equalled by FIFA games since) I ever experienced.

Tactics
At the moment I haven't played with them in depth but it's amazing how different the playing styles of the demo teams are.
Even Napoli and Real (which both base their playstyle on long, high through balls) look very different to me. Of course I don't expect all the teams (especially the non-licensed ones) to have custom/personalised tactics but with a little bit of editing it would eventually be achieved.

Flow of the game
Spot on. I'm curious to see how Libertadores plays, as in 2014 (according to the few matches I played) I found it slower than European football (while I expected it to play slightly faster).

WHAT DOESN'T CONVINCE ME:

Keepers
A mile ahead of PES 2014 ones, they often pull great saves but sometimes they still look 'absent' somehow. Also, they look like can't be arsed to fully stretch to get to the ball at times.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

Graphics
Surprise surprise. Graphics are utterly poor compared to what could be achieved on PC nowadays with an absurdously small effort, yet I don't care that much for the moment.
Nets also look too tight (like they're actually more similar to walls), but screw that. I'd rather have a tight net than way too loose ones like in PES 2010.
Still I find PES2011 (with the "shape" files from PES 2013) ones the best.

As you can see I like the key things of the game, so I must say WELL DONE, KONAMI. WELL DONE.

@Ale Ive delved deep into tactics play AI v AI and coach for testing, its VERY good and more enjoyable wanting me to setup lots of versions for different scenarios, very flexible and now makes more sense than 2014.

Tactical side of the game this year is a gem. I would say the best in any football game so far.

- In fluid formation we have attack/defence arrows back, just that it does much better job and is much more clear.

- Team instructions are intuitive and effective. You can immediately see effects on the pitch. Only thing I kinda wish they had its a medium value, for example, between Short and Long passing there could also be Mixed.

I think if you set team support close even with long pass they will think to pass short, but blatant long ball if you push for spread player support and formation with strikers pushed up on attack.

I agree, under the ugly graphics and all the things of much disappointment there is a diamond in the rough and tactics is it for me.

For example at least now on tactics switch its more clear what other team are doing (better named than 1-2-3) and like fifa they now have animated diagrams to visually explain changes. Last year was a bunch of slider values and had to delve into clashmans forum descriptions to better understand it. Very intuitive.

bro when will everyone understand is that the net physics when the ball hits them is wrong, not that it's too tight, the behavior is wrong, old PES games before 2012 didn't have this, fifa 15 nets are better.

Well played sir. 10/10.

At least I hope I got that right.

fifa 15 nets are better.
I think that the nets were better in FIFA 14 though. The bar that raises from the ground at each goal, no matter how powerful the shot is, got me fed up after two days of the demo.
And about nets in PES, I agree that the ones in PES2011 looked more natural than these (even if I didn't like their shape a bit)...

I don't have input lag when I play offline , and I'm enjoying the game , however when I play online I got some silly input lag ? Any way to fix the online input lag ?

For some reason I'm not allowed to start threads (urgh) so thought I'd ask in here: how/where does one "insert their product key" to get that MyClub bonus? Can't see the option anywhere!

Cheers x

I'm thinking about buying the game this week. But have a couple of question if you guys would be so kind to answer me.

1-The DVD version is basically a pre-downloaded steam version with a steam key, right? No difference between the two versions.

2-is CDkeys.com legit? I mean it’s almost half the price of both retail and on steam (€40). Its just €22.

3- Is the game region locked if I buy this from cdkeys? I mean will I be able to play online with people from Portugal/EU and not from South America (or whatever the cdkey code came from). Weak internet connection.

Sorry for the noob question, but I usually just buy the disk version.

Thanks.
