PC PES 2014 discussion thread

I mean when a player is turning on the ball from a standing position, it feels like he is under water. And his legs do what i can only describe as a stutter as i turn. The players basically don't turn in a smooth motion unless you are sprinting. Added to the fact that there is still a huge button lag, and it means that the game is more frustrating than it is rewarding.

Basically the full game lags to the extent that it feels like it's under water. That's the best i can describe it. I understand that Konami want to make intertia noticeable, but it's ridiculous. I don't want Fifa like reactions were everyone is super agile, but there should be a balance, and Konami is nowhere near to finding it at the minute. Pes 13 was more responsive.

hmm do you mean responsive or the way the engine handles this motion? because I think you are referring to the latter and that is by design choice of Konami. Its like the change of feet motion is also not implemented very well this year And I also think with highly dribbling stat players like Messi, Neymar, Sliva, Ribery, Robben, they do turn a tad smoother as I think its partly due to the dribbling and ball control stats which is quite realistic imo.

Yes I agree to an extent sometimes the inertia feels a bit too much and sometimes just right. Its probably a balance Konami needs to find. Maybe with the new engine, they can't get the same smoothness as PES 13. Maybe the PS3/Xbox 360 hardware can't handle it. I'm not entirely sure.

Anyone here using a ps3 controller and the motioninjoy program? do you choose the playstation 3 option in DS3Tool or do you use the xbox 360 emulator option?

When I use the ps3 option in ds3tool the responsiveness from PES feels quicker, but I find the right-stick is messed up when trying to send players on runs, its really sensitive and doesnt move in the correct directions.

When I use the 360 emulator option I find the controller to be slow at responding but the right-stick works perfectly and the line moves where I want it to.

Anyone have the same problem as me with the right-stick ?

Finally got chance to play friends PES 2014 PC.

Really disappointing. Just feels way too different compared to PES 2013, running is so strange, so far away from PES 2013 that I gave up after few games.

Glad I didn't buy it this year.

Good luck to KONAMI...I really wish 2K sports would attempt football game.

Hope next years PES goes back to the original PES what made it successful ie. PES 2006...

can someone please upload edit.bin of PES 2013[pc] which contains latest transfers ??i am using an old patch...so transfers are not up to date...i don't want to download whole patch just for transfers.thanks in advance...i wanna go back to PES 2013....sorry for off-topic.

Not recommend because of the video card GT525M. I have GT540M, which is a little higher than GT525M, and sometimes have a problem with lag in PES2014, running with high details graphs. Thinking in PES2015, I think it would be not good performance of these graphics cards in maximum detail graphics.

"Have you not seen the videos? That catch-up bug is definitely there. There's a skip in animation when a defender gets to the back of another player propelling him forward at a quicker speed than his running speed."

When i use the right analog stick to defend my "running space" that doesnt happen.

Usually when i running after the ball, ( i play alot with chelsea, so referencing ETO ), my forward can outpace the defender. If i just do a double dash RB to continue running forward , he doesnt lose ( any ) much space to the defender. If i try to control the ball somehow he then loses space, but i can manage that by using the right analog stick and not allow the defender to push me. I even managed to sometimes push the defender back and away and gain even more space.

There are situation when running with the ball its possible to completly leave the defender planted ... but it must be very well planned.

As someone said earlier on this forum, playing pes 2014 , the right analog stick is vital. ( not do tricks and feints, but body balance )

Game plays much better at +1 Speed, at first it seems kind of fast, but game is much better, it "dissimulates" the slowness/unresponsiveness cheap feel the game has with default speed.

PC/Game Specs:
Playing with 1.04 official patch/DLC 2.0
Nvidia Geforce 460
Intel i54670

....

... but it must be very well planned.

This is why I am enjoying the game more and more. My playing style has needed to adapt, and timings re-learned to become anyway competent.

At this stage I can see past the minor annoyances and enjoy the game for what it is. I love it, whilst still hoping for improvements (Goalies - sweet jesus they are really bad)...

My BAL player just turned yellow (80) overall ability and the weirdest thing happened (not). The game became 20% faster as usual.

KONAMI!!! %#!%##!%!!!! If I wanted my game at fast forward I would have USED THE DAMN SPEED SETTING!

I'm definitely NOT buying another PES release until that pathetic "dynamic difficulty" is REMOVED and the core speed setting is ABSOLUTE. The only way a match should be faster than the other is if the players actually pass the ball faster like in real life and the dynamic difficulty would remove 95% of the issue where the AI completely ignores its players' abilities.

And I was so positively surprised this year.. until this completely retarded recurring design flaw unveiled its ugly ass.

EDIT: Seeing the lack of quality patches (none imo) for the PC version, and lack of tools (specifically w!ild@ and Barcafan's tools) I guess it's just moments away from being an obituary thread. PES without a proper skilled community to make up for the apparent lacks isn't surviving many releases.

No quality patches? Wow, in that case please make yours and supply to the community and the tools you will supply free of charge, im waiting for your input to bring the world back to rights. Careful you dont insult people who plough hours into this game for mods and patches, you know, the poor ones churning out crap patches.

Have to say ive been Fifa for 3 years (incl 14) and never bothered with PES at all, based on licences and other things. So I tried the demo of 2014 and to be honest everything I wanted on the pitch from fifa/locking to player etc and the way its acts with AI was everything I was spending hours fiddling with AI mods with fifa.

It didn't take me long to just load pes ever since and suck the life out of it with mods and patches. For me personally ignoring all its lacking areas due to licenses/career basics .. I haven't played and enjoyed on the field game any better than this. I am not tainted by anything pre 2014 at all so I guess I would have a different view on things.

I have to say that this is coming form someone who has modded, editing and fiddled with rna.ini / product.ini strings for hours with fifa trying to get it to play substantially. Ended up after all that having "oh, pes does all of that out the box, ok then". Im an older player and can see past the lacking areas as I just wanted an enjoyable on pitch experience without being blinded by the lacking "outer polish".

If next year they improve some collisions and for the love of everything that is holy .. they update the GUI (priority number 1) and bring some more features I see people miss then im in for next year.

I'd like to add to my list of observations of the game:

-I really really like the gameplay. Previously, I could never tolerate playing against the CPU on any football game. But I've played loads of matches against the computer for the first time around.

-It really feels different playing against different opponents, the CPU exploiting the tricks can get brutal, which is pleasing for me. Sometimes on the D, I just get completely owned by Balotelli or Aguero, etc, lose composure, and start panic defending. It is good to see that the CPU can do this.

-No sub animations? Really?

-Terrible commentators.

-Terrible GUI.

-It's hard to find opponents online.

-This game really needs a LOD Mixer.

-I hope they find a fix for FileLoader, as I'm hoping to get into patching my game, but it doesn't seem worth it until FileLoader is enabled.

I always make my own patches, but I assume everyone isn't as persistent as myself. Most people won't bother with an unfinished product when the other game is plug and play, even if PES is slightly better in the gameplay department.

You seem to assume that "quality" was the important word that may offend people while I meant it as NO quality patches (because there are usually several) which you rightfully highlighted. I guess a negative person will always serach for the most negative way of understanding the world around him?

The patches section is nearly empty:

Woke early this morning so i decided to test the 1.06

Game plays much more lie it does in training mode, it's much, much better, still some command errors ingame though, far less than before in 1.04 and 1.01/1.00. Keepers aren't parrying into their own net anymore because the responsiveness is better but still sometimes just not executing actions.

Game desperately needs a proper LOD (Level of detail).

This is just on superstar however.

Keepers, shoot from outside the box?
Cursor change bag?

Is it fixed?

What about the refs? Are they doing the job now or are are they still on vacation? Still no foul calls, no penaltys?

And what about dribbling? Is it more fluid, more responsive now? And most important, what about pressing? Are the AI still pressing you to death?

Shooting seems better, seems to be more power, hit the bar from 30 yards twice, it seems hard but possible.

As for everything else such as keepers and refs, they where only 'broken' because of the ingame responsiveness issues and command errors, in training mode they things where perfect and fine, 1.06 has improved the responsiveness massively, it's not 100% there but it's great, it's very playable and not something to worry about.

Game still desperately needs a LOD. Training mode once again seems to be almost faultless. I'm still not happy with the dribbling though, a little better but still more of the same, i can beat players with Ozil etc.. but no in the way we could in PES 2013 :( it's still too slow dribbling at normal speed.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Not sure about this update. Not sure at all.

After only a few games it seems as if they've jigged the difficulty. Whereas I was happy enough playing Professional in ML with reasonable challenge from CPU, now it seems the AI has regular and massive brain farts. Much like 2013, sometimes the CPU will just lob the ball into the air ahead, with no apparent purpose or target. It feels as if difficulty has been throttled so that most goals result from defensive mistakes rather than team skill.

I've noticed a slight improvement in player responsiveness, but not significant.

Every time the CPU keeper takes a free kick, it's offside. Amazed they didn't catch this. Lack of attention.

Jury still out on keepers - no stupid mistakes so far, but a lot of wild parrying.

The games feels strangely dead or 'souless'. Maybe it's just me. I'm getting fed-up mid-game. The constant collisions can become tedious. Not a good feeling for me - I've been playing PES incessantly since 2006 and always came back for more.
