You can't take their ultracritical tests seriously.

Why not? That sounds like a good way to review a game. I wish all reviewers had higher standards.

PES 2014 is fun but it's an unfinished game.

'It would have been better for the image of the football series, a year completely to pause and make the engine fit for all systems, instead of publishing this beta.'

The reviewer sounds like anybody who has played the game from here...

I have used a " patch" for this game which is great and offers all the kits and fluff. I have my PC copy from shopto. I patched it and it worked fine for a few days. Then when i booted it up i get the rdl.dll dynamic library message, i had to keep pasting it over to the main folder. Then the installer is now saying i don't have the correct permissions to use it. WTF? I haven't a glue what's going on can someone help and old fool out?

Do you have NOD or ESET Smart Security by any chance?
Similar thing happened to me 2-3 years ago. I forgot to add rdl.dll to ESET SS exclusion list.

Remove PES, and then use CCleaner for registry fix. Turn off antivirus temporarily.
Install PES. Back-up original KONAMI exe files (before patching). Install patch. Add rdl.ll to exclusion list. Turn antivirus back on. Tell patch creators that they are awesome masters of the universe. They always like that.

DISCLAIMER:
There is, probably, easier solution for this kind of a problem, but it worked for me that time! No member of PESEdit team was harmed in the process of posting this!

I miss the day when defade making OF for PC. Updated kits, badge, and real names ONLY, no extra stuff, perfect for purist like me.

That's all I'm looking for in a patch really, however this year the community made stadia and faces are going to be more important than ever.

I use ESET Smart Security and have had this problem in the past. Easily fixed, as you say.

It's ridiculous to say that wanting extras makes you unworthy or impure. The more added things that are well executed, the better the game is. How someone can go from that, to saying to he is a purist, it's just pretentious.

I read the word 'purist' as a preference for simple patches that don't try and alter the gameplay. That I agree with.

can anybody conform who is playing pc version online if there are slowdowns in MLO ...i have the ps3 version there are massive slowdowns in the box so its unplayable...before buying pc version i wanted to confirm

Basically they say: PS3 suffers from massive stuttering while the 360 version couldn't be played online because of a bug related to the datapack 1 update. If it weren't for that bug, the 360 version would have scored the same 70% the PC version got.

Yup, that what i meant. Stadium, extra team are fine but honestly i can live without that.

Patches are great, however most are included gameplay tweak. I don't need that. That's why i prefer a simple OF, but seeing there's not much OF maker left today, that make me missed the old days.

What's so controversial of that?

the fake players in the fake leagues have names set but you cant edit them cause the idiots at konami forgot to include them into the list
that means that you can set a name how ever you want, the commentary still says the default name..

Annoyed with the online.

Got a message saying my courtesy rating will be downgraded for disconnections.

When I have never disconnected , but have had loads of disconnections when I am beating people 4-0+.

Now I have a moderately high disconnection rating and 3 losses out of nowhere?!

It's not counting at the beginning during match making, where is says couldn't connect to opponent, or disconnected from opponent is it?

I mean, it's all pretty stupid. Especially if people disconnecting against me is counting negatively towards my courtesy rating.

Generally better for me although I tested with my friend from Norway, I am uk and it was unplayable. Completely freezing with 1 bar connectivity and even disconnected us with a network error

Our games are playable on FIFA, which says allot to me.

Sure, add me on steam as it pops up there whenever i'm on pes and it'll be easier to message

Also regards to the fifa thing, it's eye opening at how terrible a job konami do in this department, fifa's interface and whole set up is made to make it a lot simpler and there servers are reliable most of the time.

Also regards to the fifa thing, it's eye opening at how terrible a job konami do in this department, fifa's interface and whole set up is made to make it a lot simpler and there servers are reliable most of the time.

they are are still having emergency maintenance(apart from regular ones) and patches for 11v11 and 2v2/4v4 arent even out yet, so the online aspect of the game is far from finished. We should be critisizing online experience in a month's time imo, when every online mode should be available and servers stabilized. Terrible situation, but nothing's being great about PES14's release anyway.

This may have been answered elsewhere, but is anyone releasing an OF for the PC? I ask because I'd like to start an ML campaign sooner rather than later, and because something I've always done in PES is change my kit each season. Kind of lends it a progressive feel. I used to get myself better sponsors with higher levels of success, that sort of thing, and my replays could track 10 years of kits and how the team changes, etc. Not a big deal, but the edit is so useful these days that it can probably do most of the important fundamental jobs of a patch anyway.

I really can't believe how badly Konami have dropped the ball here. What with all the annoyance about the PC not getting the Ignite engine for Fifa 14, you would've thought they'd see the clear opportunity to capitalise on that by providing the PC gamers with stellar service...

About PES' online - I'm not much of an online gamer, but I did try a while back to play PES online, and I had to jump through so many hoops I gave up. Sounds as though things have not improved much since then.

Does Steam Overlay work for you then when playing PES? I've tried to get mine to work but it doesn't seem to want to.

1v1 should be reliable from day 1, don't buy the BS excuses that there are patches coming out for it etc.

we are playing 1v1 and not 11v11

Yup,it didn't at first then a day or so later, when launching it in steam, it works fine now, no idea how but i'm not complaining

Same here. Not played PES online since PES2011.

I'm not sure what the problem is but Konami cannot deliver a modern, effective online service when it comes to PES. They are clearly talented when it comes to the core gameplay so perhaps they should admit defeat and leave online play (as well as other departments they struggle with) to a team outside Japan? A team that understands Western gaming. It doesn't matter where it is - Europe, North America, Australia - just not Konami Japan.

PES online has been one tragic failure for as long as I can remember, and that shows no sign of changing this year.

I just started a Master League season with Newell's Old Boys yesterday with the Konami fake players.

The problem I have with dribbling this year is that I'm not entirely sure what foot my player is going to use to take a touch with, the same goes for passing where my left footed left back is equally adept at hitting passes with his right-foot and will choose to do so at the most inopportune moment thus making me give the ball away. Obviously this is a problem with the bad foot usage slider being to high for all players, hopefully the modders can fix this.

The Master League transfer windows are annoying the sh*t out of me, Konami gives us a measly few days to get players in as they don't let us buy players outside of the window so they come in on the first day it opens.

There also doesn't seem to be any bargains to be had as any player who is over 70 tends to cost over a million quid. I currently only have 700 grand at the start of January's window and there isn't one player I can buy that would improve my team.

I transfer-listed my best player Allejo at the start of the season to raise funds who has an overall level of 81 and is a current Brazil international. I haven't had any offers for any of my players, well done Konami
