PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Wondering if we'll get 16:10 aspect ratio support. Past few pes titles were the very only modern games not supporting such resolutions FFS.

EDIT

From screens it seems 16:9 and 4:3 only supported aspect ratios once again. Why Konami has to be lagging behind everyone else in such a basics ?

It's such a lame answer. PC players can take part too if you ask them.

Konami are worried that the PC version will get "hacked"? Guess what, both your console versions have been pulled apart too.

like they never were "hacked" before :TTTH:, poor konami.

i'm really mad on them (konami). everyone should be able to play demo or full version by now or no one.

their descision to put one or two demos and full version for consoles and NOTHING for pc is dreadful and made me full of rage!

Guess what?! Fifa 14 demo was hacked, modders added over 20 more teams.I think EA Sports won't release a new demo next year :P.
Also we already know most of the game licensed teams so why not release the demo?!This is just a stupid move from Konami and i smell some bullshit excuse with all this hacking problem :FAIL:.
ALL PC games get "hacked" sooner or later and Konami needs to understand those "hackers" make their unfinished game enjoyable(tbh i couldn't stand PES 2013 scripting which was fixed by Jenkey gameplay tool).

i agree .
what is the problem ? :CONFUSE:

two ideas :
1- they fear community look into exe and find some old stuff.:PIRATE: , i don't know ,we have extracted demo files . animations use the new havok technology , also new faces models , kits textures , game structure (kitserver like) ... Maybe something else (AI,...)
2- licences unveiled or add more team , i don't think ,
xbox360 and ps3 version are released in many countries , + leaked on internet + 3 demos already extracted and hacked ... :JAY:

we don't need answer , we will know very soon :D ... 5 days , that's not much :SMUG:

Konami you can fix your mistake , just release pc demo tonight :D

really???????????

There won't be any lag unless your laptop struggles to play it in the first place but I'd advise using your TV as the only screen outputting anything whilst you play.

Why's that - does it require additional power to run two screens - might it overly tax the PSU (mine's TX650v2 Corsair).

I'm talking about gaming in general. Not PhysX for this game. It's held back by the consoles.

PhysX isn't used by many games as far as I'm aware. I'm not sure what application it would have in PES anyway as it's mainly a particle physics effect.

Besides, it's a proprietary Nvidia thing, so anyone with an AMD card (like me) cannot make use of it.

Considering it's a console port, to expect anything more than the low medium or high, there's a very slim chance they'd put the effort in for pc to allow as such. Especially when the community do so much for the pc game.

Most console ports I've played do offer some more advanced graphics options such as shadows, ambient occlusion, anisotropic filtering, etc....

I didn't expect Konami to do any of this though. Some things can be forced though the drivers anyway, such as AF.

If it wasn't for mods I wouldn't even consider purchasing PES.

Sadly I agree. There was a time when I could play PES/ISS with no licences and a few stadia. These days I want more.

Gameplay is always #1, but I need content and authenticity to get the best out of the experience. Modders to the rescue once again.

I agree fully with that - no way in hell could I play a football game with 'Man Red' and 'London Blue' with those rubbish kits as well. PES would be absolutely dead in the water for me if it wasn't for mods. Sure, gameplay is king but some sort of authenticity is required as well.

Incidentally, are there any Option Files out yet?

I'm playing PES 5 with Man Red and London Blue. But that's PES 5, one of the best games ever (in the case of soccergame).
Meaby it's this year also. I hope.

I don't care about fake teams, stadiums, kits etc etc. The entire could be made of teams from Mars and Jupiter that as long as the gameplay is enjoyable I'll be satisfied.

I wish I could say the same mate, but I want a recreation of real football with all the real players, teams and stadia. I can't get the same enjoyment from playing matches in a fictional environment.

If PES ever went back to being a wholly unlicensed product it would quickly become a cheap, download-only indie title.

I'd still play it, but the overall experience would certainly be lacking. The longevity would be lost. Like you, my history with the series is quite similar. When I first played PES on the PS2 I was so enamored with how different the gameplay was compared to FIFA I couldn't have cared less about the lack licenses. The editor was sufficient, I tweaked the Manchester United squad to the best of my ability and that was enough to satisfy a 12/13-year-old me. Ever since I got a taste for modding with PES 5/6 that's changed entirely.

To be honest I love minor details in games, especially football games since it's based on real life. I want to see what I see in real life, in PES. Proper adboards, banners, stadiums, kits, faces, hairstyles, nets, everything. It really adds to my experience. Hell, I'll edit the sleeve length (likes of Vidic, Carrick, Giggs wear short sleeves during the winter) of every United player so they properly reflect their real-life counterparts. :COAT:

I've said it once, I'll say it a million times; Thank God for PC gaming and their respective modding communities. To all of those who help enhance our games beyond their vanilla state, I salute you.

these days deeply hate konami
ps3 demo filter
consoles after official demos
official sale now South America

us pc users with empty hands

I expect the game to be the best in the world (pc version)
konami work this year has been disgustingly unfortunate

Yeah, I'm like that too. I think two things have caused this....

Firstly, graphical quality and fidelity has improved so much over the past 10-15 years. This puts more emphasis on things looking correct. Back when I was playing ISS on my PS1 hooked up to a crappy portable telly, the lack of official kits wasn't really an issue because graphics were so poor compared to what we have now. Player faces were just a few polygons, for eaxample. Now we can play in full 1080p glory (or higher) so any lack of graphical authenticity really stands out to me.

Secondly, I think the NBA2K franchise has a lot to answer for. The detail is incredible. Each team having a highly authentic home court, crowd chants, adboards, great player likenesses and stunning commentary - all adds to the immersion. PES looks and feels a little barren in comparison.

I know the NBA games only focus on one league, hence they can lavish detail on the players, teams and stadia, but still, it has kind of changed things for me.

Can't stand all the short comings of developers when it comes to things like faces and stadiums(for both pes and fifa) so I'm looking to buy Pc for less than £400 that'll run PES as well or better than my playstation. Anyway I haven't got a clue about pc gaming and wanted to ask if an NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 graphics card, 8 gig Ram DDR3 and for the CPU an AMD A4 5300 X2(2 X3.4 GHz) would be ok??

more pes 2014 pre order on PC than xbox360.

(even without pc demo , PC>360 ! this is only one store , but this is good sign)

I Pre-Order long time ago.
The KONAMI idea, is releasing the demo after we pre-order the game on the store, and they put a simple ticket, asking for no-release video, illegal copies and pictures.
They are revenge on innocent people, who pre-order the game :((
I still don´t recieve my answer about the PC Version, it will be able to install the DVD offline without Steam?
Is the same PES 2013 Option we can able to get the DLC's free, without give a Code?

I'm not sure if my cpu made of wood is good enough to run Pes 14.
Also the demo not being out already make me undecided if i get the game for xbox or pc, if my pc can't run the game i just hope there will be patchs for xbox because i don't like to play with unlicensed clubs (kits and correct names are enough for me).

For sure. I've been playing NBA 2K on and off since the first one on Dreamcast. Love that series. My interest in basketball fluctuates from year to year, but it's a beautiful game none the less. Probably the best representation of sport in video games. Between the animations/signature jump-shots, pre-game rituals, cloth physics, graphics and commentary it really feels like an actual NBA game. Yes, they're dealing with less players at any given time and they only have to focus on one league, but damn. Put the camera on broadcast and at a quick glance you'd think it was real.

2k Sports/Visual Concepts have always had a good grasp on subtleties and nuance when it comes to sports. It's amusing how they completely shut out the NBA Live series not through license lockouts, but pure gameplay and presentation. Good point in regards to the transition from SD to HD.
