PC PES 2014 discussion thread

Sorry is this has been asked, but will purchasing the game being on steam effect the modding prospects?

I'm not sure if this will get an official response from Konami. I would assume modding will be ok based on the fact that I have heavily modded two Steam games (Race 07 and Cities XL) without issue.

Howdy!

It has been a LONG while since posting on these forums. I played the demo of PES 2014 and LOVED it but it was on my PS3 (last time I enjoyed PES was WE9). Back in the day when it was easy to mod a PS2 game and the "knife-trick" worked flawlessly. Knowing that it is much easier to mod on the PC than trying to make it work on my now, PS3, it just makes sense to make the switch.

Sorry about the brief diatribe, but, I noticed some of y'all mentioning a DVD version of the game, steam version, etc. For ease of editing and most options for available patches, what is the preferred "version" of the game? Is it simply the retail PC version that I need to buy that comes with a disk? Can't even remember the last time I bought a PC game, so, I am rather clueless. I am pretty sure my little laptop can handle though, with an i3 - 2370 processor, and 6GB RAM.

Also, would connecting an HDMI cable from the laptop to a TV cause any lag? I would think not, but I just wanted to confirm.

-K

Green Man Gaming seems cool and everything but you still have to pay £1.10 for 1st class delivery. I've decided to go with ShopTo as they usually send them out early and it's about 60p difference.

There won't be any lag unless your laptop struggles to play it in the first place but I'd advise using your TV as the only screen outputting anything whilst you play.

Yup, GMG have good delivery, unsure how there pre-order deliveries are but ShopTo is excellent and i'll happily keep my order with them, still a great price either way :WORSHIP:

Any lag would be the result of your laptop.

Only resolution and quality settings :FAIL:, i expected more advanced settings considering the game runs on Fox Engine.

By now they could have implemented PhysX, Anti-Aliasing, etc...

But, unfortunately, the consoles are holding the game back (as usual). In gaming it's always the lowest common denominator. Same thing will happen with next gen consoles. The XB1 is the weakest and will hold back the rest.

PhysX? Do you even know what this is?

Yo, the KONAMI-Support wrote me and tells me that the memory of my Radeon HD7770 maybe will be too low, so I need to put the graphic-settings down, if the game lagg.

Now I'm confused... hope the game runs just perfect anyway. :(

sorry why are you worring about that?
do you already got PC version and you tried it with high settings?

Same here. Got my PC hooked up to my AV Receiver and 51" Plasma in the lounge and a wireless 360 controller. Great graphics and great surround sound :)

Oh, wow. Gaming on a 51" screen... that must be all kinds of awesome sauce. :)

I'm talking about gaming in general. Not PhysX for this game. It's held back by the consoles.

Of course it is. Here's how it goes: new gen consoles released; gaming grinds forwards another few metres; twat companies like EA say that the PC can't run the new games and fobs us off with watered down/old gen version. Console stays ahead of average PC for one or two years. Average PC catches up. Average PC surpasses consoles. All games watered down so the ageing consoles can run them. Gaming held back until next gen consoles release. And thus the cycle repeats again.

Considering it's a console port, to expect anything more than the low medium or high, there's a very slim chance they'd put the effort in for pc to allow as such. Especially when the community do so much for the pc game.

Yup. It may take a few months but the community will unleash the true potential of this game.
