PC PES 2014 discussion thread

I wonder if implementing chants will be a bit smoother this year. Adding chants in FIFA usually produces good results, but chant packs always sounded a bit jarring and out of place in PES.

I've never been entirely happy with the community made chants in PES. Last year I decided not to bother with them at all which is a shame because when done well, the chants add so much to the match experience.

Chants played on constant loop or one straight after the other don't sound realistic, so Konami needs to implement them better.

Also, the chants need to be of a better quality. Some sound like they are recorded off the TV, others from Youtube clips on the terraces with the ultras. The end result is highly inconsistent, with volume and fidelity levels all over the place.

That might sound extremely ungrateful as these chants are created by the community for free, but I think it will take someone with sound editing experience and equipment to create some realistic sounding chants.

Please answer me Xav1. :))
Apologies for the long wait for a reply. In all honesty, I can't answer that indefinitely. I got my info from a lad on Twitter. He is available for questions. My intial thought is that its not neccessary though.

Forgive my ignorance. What is the difference between buying from steam or purchasing a CD key. Isn't it essentially the same thing.
The game will still need to be downloaded from steam?

Depends on the publisher, in our case, KONAMI's DVD keys aren't usable in STEAM and vice versa.

Can someone give the pros and cons to pes via steam, please?

Pros:-

+ Community Hub
+ Automatic Updates
+ Most likely to go on sale/reduced price
+ Easy to play with friends (?)

Cons:-

- Modded faces/kits could easily get messed up with updates and corrupt files
- forced to play with updates

Only things could think of, still waking up after stayed up to watch the fight.

Cons:
No cons.
Pros:
No DVD
The game will be in your digital library, so you can download the game from anywhere.
Best gaming platform out there.
Easy user communication via the Steam Overlay and Chat.

How about patching and steam ? Do we have any info on that ?

for pes edit patch here a guide (pes 2013)

PESEdit can't be used with the Steam version by default, that is because the Steam version doesn't have the registry entries that the dvd version has. With this Workaround you can enjoy PESEdit with the Steam version.

As far as i know, it is possible to install all available custom patches that are made for the dvd version or rely on that.

Long version:

32bit
(Copy the text between the - into a new textfile and save it, rename from .txt to .reg and import those entries into the Registry)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KONAMI\PES2013]
"code"="here-goes-your-serial-from-pes"
"installdir"="E:\\KONAMI\\Pro Evolution Soccer 2013\\"
"version"="1.00.0000"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

64bit
(Copy the text between the - into a new textfile and save it, rename from .txt to .reg and import those entries into the Registry)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KONAMI\PES 2013]
"code"="here-goes-your-serial-from-pes"
"installdir"="E:\\KONAMI\\Pro Evolution Soccer 2013\\"
"version"="1.00.0000"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Explanation:

The code means your serial, installdir is the complete path to your main PES2013 installation, don't forget that the registry exports backslashes (\) in paths by default as double backslashes (\\), so you need to make double backslashes too if you want to import back and the double backslash at the end of the installation path is important (don't miss that), version could be 1.00.0000 to 1.03.0000 until now but i don't think it matters and is not that important to make the Workaround function.

Please note:

There is no space in the registry paths, PES2013 is correctly, PES 2013 would be wrong. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KONAMI\PES2013]

Note: The space in the 64bit registry entry has been set by the forums, there is no space normally.

The game will be automatically updated with the newest patches and dlc's.

P.S. If you refer to game patches, this is more complex than with the DVD version.

I know you're just trying to help but that guide is of no use, 2014 is massively different, so no point posting this detail

You should be fine for minimum. Btw XP is supposably not supported.

XP NOT SUPPORTED YOU SAY!? :( :S

But what shall i do then?
are you sure

If i get Windows 7 or windows 8 then i will get less frames per second in my games (xp is best on low spec machines)..what to do..eek

my PC spec.-
i3 3.30 gHz
8 gb ddr3 ram
hd 6450 2 gb :(
monitor res. 1366*768
i am worried about PES 2014 to run on medium setting..
PES 2013 runs smooth on high....and now playing FIFA 14 demo on high setting,4x AA but vsync OFF..its running smoothly..

Hate it when people rub it in. That's why I'm too ashamed to post my specs :(

That's why I have just upgraded my PC cause I can't imagine playing Pro 14 on medium..Graphic in that game is sooo amazong. On xbox it looks shitty, completely fucked but onto PC it has to be AAAAAAMAZING :) 5 days guys!!!!

i think PES 2014 consoles graphics will be equivalent to PC's medium graphics !

Time to upgrade, buddy; as a PC gamer it's something you have to do occasionally. Unlike what the console gamers think, you don't have to upgrade every six months but if your machine is so old that it doesn't have enough RAM to run Win 7 properly, it's definitely way past upgrade time. ;)

I'll probably be upgrading my own system pretty soon as well.

Regarding chantpacks, all the ones I've used for PES have been of good quality throughout - can't remember who they were by; it began with T. Thomsen, or something like that (it's been a while since I used 'em). ;) Either way, they're better than Konami's default chants.

Wondering if we'll get 16:10 aspect ratio support. Past few pes titles were the very only modern games not supporting such resolutions FFS.

EDIT

From screens it seems 16:9 and 4:3 only supported aspect ratios once again. Why Konami has to be lagging behind everyone else in such a basics ?

I don't know if it's been answered but..

8:5 = 16:10

So it is supposed to be supported right ? I haven't used this resolution ratio though..

Konami release the PC demo right now !!!!!!! i have started to enjoy the FIFA 14 demo because there is no PES !!!!!!!!!! wtf !?!?!? :RANT:
