Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Is it just me.. or is there serious foul lacking?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Individuality is pretty minimal. Just ran a test, three players modified in Edit Mode.

Player A: Highest Passing. Lowest Ball Control. Lowest Dribbling.
Player B: Lowest Passing. Highest Ball Control. Highest Dribbling.
Player C: Highest Agility. Middle Dribbling.

Using Manual and Advanced settings in Free Training mode.

The difference in passing was non-existant. Accuracey was the same for all players. The cursor for Advanced Through Balls was the same speed as well. Basically, no incentive to have Pirlo over a more mobile midfielder.

The difference in touch was also pretty much absent. Had absolutely no trouble controlling a high ball with Player A.

THe difference in dribblign was most evident, Player A was like a tank. But interestingly, Player C was better than Player B at beating defenders.

Foul lacking is an absolute joke. Yesterday I was playing with my son. I was France, he was Italy.

Pogba gets the ball, Ribery makes a great run, I spot it and put a delicious through ball in Ribery's path. One on one with the keeper. Ball is in no mans land inside the box, keeper rushes out but Ribery gets a touch of the ball first pushing it past the keeper, keeper had already committed so inevitably absolutely bowls Ribery ass over tit. Clear foul! Penalty!!!

Apparently not. The ref either forgot the whistle at home or is in serious need of an optometrist, cue an endless tirade of expletives the likes of which will remain embedded in my son's innocent brain for many years to come.

I was so enraged that I took a video of it with my iphone. If only I knew how to upload the bloody thing so you can see what I mean...sigh

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Im playng pes from 1998 and this is the worst gameplay i ever play

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I'm pretty miffed with. It's everything I feared, advances in tech at the expense of what made the game special. I don't care how pretty or fluid the animations look, the actual gameplay is shallow as fuck.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

friends please have a program to convert kits, logos and emblems for pes 2014 xbox - league premier league, bundesliga, j league, serieB win.kit national, Portuguese league, liga Mexican

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

there are some weak ass bugs in this game. not even gameplay related.

go to training in BAL and set your focus points. firstly you have to ignore the crappy mechanics that make you have to select to individual training point before you can add and remove focus points. but then once you do it. you can move the focus points up even if you have 0 points. sure, once you press X again it'll go back to to the original value and not update but come on. maybe this would be made better if not for the second bug on this screen which is as you add or remove focus points, the remaining focus points total doesn't update until you actually confirm by pressing x again.

i guess this is a minor issue overall but its so bloody lazy and poor design

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Well online is definitely broken for now. Every single matchup is laggy.

Tried to play offline, but the game is just horrific against the AI, so incredibly boring when you compare it to games against friends on full manual.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Does anyone know how to use the preorder classic kit dlc as I've downloaded it but can't find it in game

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I've got no idea what game you're all playing but this PES 2014 isn't what I expect PES to be. Where's the difference between the teams?

Why does EVERY single team play the same style regardless of what is set?

Why do they always hit the long ball to the striker, who chests it down and knocks it down regardless of being Stoke or Barcelona?

Why does every team play the long through-ball?

Why does every team harass and fly into tackles and not stand off?

Why does EVERY team I choose always play the same high defensive line and not use the teams actual setting? Because the CPU defensive line certainly is never so far up the pitch so it does look at the tactical instructions when it wants. And no, I shouldn't have to manually set every team's defensive line every time I choose a different team in exhibition. If a team's defensive line is set to deep in its tactics, then it should be in the match without me manually adjusting.

Previous PES games had good referees, where's the fouls?

Honestly, this game feels rushed and as I've said before, it's like PES 2013.1. Considering the hype for this amazing Fox Engine, I'm still seeing PES 2013 with a few bells and more flaws. I say rushed, they haven't even had time to put some basic effort into the faces. PES is usually decent for that, but Kolo Toure might as well be white in PES with the lack of effort they've used.

It felt great for the first few games in the demo, but then I'd not played PES for a good few months so it felt fresh again. A good number of games later and I remember why I stopped playing PES.

I've played only the demo and like you, hadn't played PES for a number of months (since last year, actually), but my first impression was it played exactly like I remembered PES13 to be, but with some new jostling animations. Every cpu team plays the same, same thru-ball spamming as last year, same player awareness issues, same glaring gameplay issues are still there that folk like Yair and Jenkey made valiant attempts to fix.

I had been wondering if there was more substance to the much-heralded fox engine than just graphics, but on this evidence, is it just new facial animations in cut scenes?

Was hoping they finally made a decent on-line mode but it sounds like even that is the same risible atrocity that it has always been.

It feels like 2008 to 10 revisited, where PES has again become something of an embarrassment, considering its increasingly distant former glories.

Looks like a particularly poor year for football gaming.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

I asked this earlier but didn't get a reply. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'm just looking for some answers to a couple of questions regading ML and BAL.

Can you change transfer frequency? If not, has anyone played long enough to see if the transfers are way too frequent?

Also, has the calendar on the "Schedule" menu been replaced by one without dates?

Lastly, does anyone know if all the cutscenes have been removed from these modes? Will there be any presentation cutscenes if you win an award, for example?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Amazing, amazing game. Nothing like PES 2013. :WORSHIP:

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

Hay am new here and am wondering if anyone can help me here.

I got this game on the Xbox 360 today from Shopto.net. I am really enjoying it at the moment. But I can't download the latest date pack. I really want to get on to Master League Online. But when I go to the data pack it stars downloading. But it takes ages my first try took nearly 4 hours. Only for it to say this data pack is broken please try downloading again.

I have tried 2 more times and the same things happens. Any suggestions?

Turning out it's a shit game after all since complaints have become frequent? I'm gonna pick it up regardless tomorow since I'm an addict so I'll get back here eventually to confirm if it's really actually shit.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

This game should be an alpha 0.002v of Pes 2014.
Major problems:
-Input lag
-Awareness (the worst i've ever seen)
-Pass system (inconsistent)
-Cursor change.

These problems make a beautiful game with strong potential nearly unplayable.

I said this a few pages back, the game is rather easy once you get to grips with tactics.

Most teams have Possession game or Quick counter, few sit back using Long ball.

The Long Ball through the middle can be very easily avoided to an extent, just play a deeper backline.

I've played twogames with Rennes vs Lille and Lyon away from home, both teams where better so I had to use a more defensive minded formation. Luckily before I looked at my team and decided i needed some muscle in the middle of the pack to keep things tight, i had brought N'Zonzi from Stoke since he had the right physicality to break things up in the middle of the park, great signing was man of the match vs Lille.

My gameplan is to attack using the pace out wide with the two widemen in Pitropa and Alecsandro whatever. I brought a new striker because I had no faith in Mevlut Erdinc holding the ball up well.

I beat Lille 2-1 and drew vs Lyon, (conceded a late equalizer :( gutted) Both teams had possession game, both played the same way, both had more possession than me, especially Lyon, at half time they had 65% of the possession.

I used all out defence all game, soaked up pressure and defended well throughout. The goals they scored where very good, and needed to be because I wasn't going to give away shit.

Now regardless of how you change your tactics there is an Defensive AI issue in which defenders just blindly follow any runs from attackers and pull the defensive line all over the place. This needs sorting out, it happens to both us the player and CPU, thats why it's not hard to sit back, defend well and you know you will get at least one 1 on 1 chance against them.

This explains why the AI always do the same ball, it's because the striker is always open because of this error.

Why does EVERY team I choose always play the same high defensive line and not use the teams actual setting? Because the CPU defensive line certainly is never so far up the pitch so it does look at the tactical instructions when it wants.

The D-Pad actually regulates you teams defensive line ingame so if you press it towards you goal they will drop deep, push it up they look to play offside trap.

U gotta be kidding me.. Maybe you have to play a real match for the individuality to show rather than free training? But the individuality should be present regardless..

Yes, all of these, unfortunately. Awareness is a total stinker, which leads to a lot of very very odd looking goals and situations. I just played a game where I had two incidents of shit awareness in the same situation - Messi comes forward, I hit the shot button, but instead of releasing a shot, he takes a second too long, defender comes close to him, jostles him away a bit, before he eventually takes the shot in a very odd shooting position, hits the crossbar, rebound goes to Fabregas, who should under any normal circumstance just head the ball into the empty need, but his reaction is too (unrealistically) slow, he takes it down on his chest, and then performs one of these silly looking tap-in volleys. Looked proper weird.

I thought the demo played much better than this, for some reason. Oh, well, another year where we have to trust the editors to make a decent game for us. Damnit. :(

Off to bed now, but I'm definitely installing that data-pack tomorrow, hopefully it will make a difference. That, and getting a few more matches under my belt.

"FIFA players" criticizing the way the CPU teams play. I've officially seen everything.

Indeed. Due in part to poor PES games and the casual allure of another football game, a lot people have lost their way over the last 6 years. It'll take them a while to find their way back, to Pro Evolution Soccer dos mil catorce.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

The assistance levels takes away from individuality, I agree. Everything else is nonsense, players feel completely different in control.

People keep wanting to see things there that don't exist, that goes both ways in PES.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO PIRACY TALK, YOU WILL GET BANNED!)

i can underatnd the input lag and delayed responsiveness due to implementation of new animation system so that the animation cycle should complete before doing the user order

what i don't understand is the delay in cursor change "player switching lag" when on semi-assisted cursor change

obviously the game is way from being finished

You should try those edited players in match situations under higher pressure compared to free training.

I remember disagreeing when you said there was no/minimal individuality in 2012. I agreed that dribbling was too easy to exploit, but no/minimal individuality?

I used lots of players in mlo, studied their stats, and felt the differences on the pitch in terms of technique, passing etc and more. There has to be some level of general competence as they are professional footballers, even with poorer players.

Maybe you’re not noticing the subtleties or maybe its your playstyle. I can notice differences between the players, just like I did with PES 2012.
