The thing about the stadia... it's not just that they took out loads of generics, it's that they took out the more individual-looking ones and left in loads that look just the same.
There are loads of "closed square" style stadia left in there (especially now the Konami Stadium has been rebuilt as one of these), so you'll have no problem playing as Bundesliga teams, or all those Eastern European CL/Europa League sides who aren't in the game any more... unfortunately, there are no longer any single bowl-type stadia with open stands and/or a running track, which means it'll be impossible to play Serie A with any realism, because so many Italian teams play in grounds that look like that. There are also no "open square" grounds at all now, which will make Premiership (and, to an extent Ligue 1) look a bit shit. I mean, this is ludicrous.
Most insanely, Konami have added three South American leagues but removed the stadia which look vaguely South American (eg Amazonas, Ville de Marie or whatever it was called). So all those Chilean sides will be playing in Royal London Stadium, right?
(Speaking of which, what's the point of that stadium exactly? It's bigger than any real-life football stadium anywhere in the world, but other than that it looks exactly like about three others which are already in the game. What does it do that Wembley doesn't, exactly?)
I know stadia aren't the most important thing, blah blah blah (I really shouldn't have to point that out, but there's always one), but as a real-life stadium nerd and an ex-stadium maker back in the good old days of PS2 patching, this makes me really pissed off. If they genuinely didn't have time to finish them, then a 10-stadia DLC before Christmas is the least we should expect. I'm not on Twitter myself - can people please start hammering Bhatti over this? We need DLC of basic generic stadia at least. There's very very little variety there.
Enjoying the demo, though. I can sense a few big problems with the gameplay slowly rumbling towards me over the prairie, out of a clear blue sky, but... for now I'm mostly loving it.
