Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Incidentally, is it just me or does the demo run at twice the speed in daytime matches? It's horrible (then again I don't like the day games anyway, because the bloody shadows make it almost unplayable). I'm sticking to night matches at the moment.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

On another note. I'm struggling with the PES demo today, not sure why. I was in a flow yesterday, can barely score now.

I'm really struggling with these things;

- trapping the ball (the R2 thing doesn't seem to do the trick for me)
- shielding the ball
- stationary team mates
- dispossessing the opponent

The last one I'm getting better at, but the first three kind of all go together somehow. Have any of you guys made any breakthroughs gameplay wise as to master these things? Is it just practise, practise, practise, or have I missed a button combo that's very useful? :)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

I'm having a blast with the game! :D Proof of that is that I haven't come back here for 6 hours after I posted my last message saying "I GOT IT!!!!" lol.

Catch-Up bug seems to be toned down considerably.
Messi is far better than I expected after trying Ribery and CR7 on the demos. But he's better in a realistic way.

Responsiveness seems a little better as well.

The only issue I detect is still players awareness. Sometimes they stumble into eachother too often, sometimes they let the ball pass them by.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

What's bothering me the most is the lack of fouls. I worry that it's going to be like PES2013, where you could finish a 20 minute game without the opposition having committed a single foul. It's a problem, because the AI foul you all the time... like, you'll receive the ball with your back to goal, someone will instantly sprint into the back of you and knock you off balance, and they'll come away with the ball, and no foul's given... but I can't see them changing it because it's so crucial to the way everything works this year. The AI just do it literally all the time, and if they didn't you'd be able to keep the ball forever. I mean, teams do this in real life to some extent, but real football is constantly broken up by fouls. Modern football (even in England but especially elsewhere) is incredibly stop-start - loads and loads of soft fouls. Like PES 5.

Whereas in this demo you finish a match feeling like like your legs are black and blue, then you look at the stats and it says the AI hasn't committed a single foul all game. Whereas you committed four, three of which weren't actually fouls. It's starting to irritate me now.

Deluxe, would you mind posting the (fake) Japan and USA lineups as well when you return? No problem if it's too much trouble.

what pass assistance do you use mate? i always try to play with 0 bars, especially online, but to me it feels like the passes are too slow on 0 bars in the demo

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Busy at work today but will post my demo impressions hopefully later on. In the meantime, can a fellow Xbox user help me please.

What's the process if I want to bring the demo to a mate's place on a USB stick? He doesn't have good enough internet to download it to his Xbox? Do I need to bring my profile/gamertag too or can I do it some other way?

I've heard you can take your profile and games (digital copies) with you on a USB stick but I don't know how :(

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Is there a list with all the licensed NATIONAL teams already? We know that we lost Croatia, Japan etc. but does anybody know which national teams will be definitely licensed this year?

You have to play 2 games of NHL 14 before ;)

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

looking at some reviews from another forum... found this about camera angles, after someone asked if there was a blimp view:

nope , we have mid range , long , wide , pitch side , live broadcast , vertical & Custom can adjust zoom height and angle

how awesome is this... as the demo only had wide which could be customised.. now we have all these other views, which themselves can be customised... this is fantastic news!!!

now all they need to do is work on the replays!!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Some people will never be satisfied no matter how good the game is. To me its all about gameplay and thats what counts...not how bale looks...what licenses Konami lost and what stadiums are missing. And if one or two people say this game is garbage..fine...id rather listen to 1000 people say its great then one or two noobs saying its trash...the game is the best pes to date. Theres a reason why everyone is blown away. And some of people definitely suffer from placebo effect.

How many times do I have to tell people not to disrespect others with these names?

Do NOT call people noobs. It's their opinion of the game so let them be.

This is a warning.

I'm one of those older players and I'm still here, as are many others who have been playing Konami football games for a decade or two.

Gameplay is the number one priority for me but you have to understand that gaming has changed massively over the past few years. To take the extreme example, if Konami tried to sell PES these days as a completely unlicensed product it would fail dismally.

Licences sell games (unfortunately) which brings higher sales and more money to make better games. In the sports game genre it really is that simple.

i guess you are ignoring my pm's :APPLAUD:

Well do you like the demo?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

LOL... Higuain and Mascherano don't have specific faces. They're not even close.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

The thing about the stadia... it's not just that they took out loads of generics, it's that they took out the more individual-looking ones and left in loads that look just the same.

There are loads of "closed square" style stadia left in there (especially now the Konami Stadium has been rebuilt as one of these), so you'll have no problem playing as Bundesliga teams, or all those Eastern European CL/Europa League sides who aren't in the game any more... unfortunately, there are no longer any single bowl-type stadia with open stands and/or a running track, which means it'll be impossible to play Serie A with any realism, because so many Italian teams play in grounds that look like that. There are also no "open square" grounds at all now, which will make Premiership (and, to an extent Ligue 1) look a bit shit. I mean, this is ludicrous.

Most insanely, Konami have added three South American leagues but removed the stadia which look vaguely South American (eg Amazonas, Ville de Marie or whatever it was called). So all those Chilean sides will be playing in Royal London Stadium, right?

(Speaking of which, what's the point of that stadium exactly? It's bigger than any real-life football stadium anywhere in the world, but other than that it looks exactly like about three others which are already in the game. What does it do that Wembley doesn't, exactly?)

I know stadia aren't the most important thing, blah blah blah (I really shouldn't have to point that out, but there's always one), but as a real-life stadium nerd and an ex-stadium maker back in the good old days of PS2 patching, this makes me really pissed off. If they genuinely didn't have time to finish them, then a 10-stadia DLC before Christmas is the least we should expect. I'm not on Twitter myself - can people please start hammering Bhatti over this? We need DLC of basic generic stadia at least. There's very very little variety there.

Enjoying the demo, though. I can sense a few big problems with the gameplay slowly rumbling towards me over the prairie, out of a clear blue sky, but... for now I'm mostly loving it.

I could'nt agree with you more... Well said!

Fake japan stats u_u

Kukofu = Kagawa
Oyama = Nagatomo
Morokoshi = Honda
WTF, Japan does not have a license, how is this posible? What went wrong with their license?:CONFUSE:
I love to play with them, now I will not :RANT:

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Not sure here. Maybe still in process? WE/PES always had Japan and S Korea licensed. Not sure what's going on. Maybe something to do with a World Cup license? This is just me guessing btw.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

@Deluxe, last request if you don't mind, could you perhaps show stats of scotland national team? i'm interested to see how garbage we actually are :LOL:

well you're only the second team in our 21 year history to beat us at home, so there's something. I was at that game :(
