Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

this game is gonna consume me. Have to go sleep now but I am wired from the excitement.

Wth did Konami give us 5 minutes though. 10 woulda been perfect. Having said that I spent most of the time watching replays.

I did this one move with Iniesta again (yes I am spamming the hell outtta him  ) he got through 2 defenders got body checked and stumbled through but managed to regain his balance and send a sublime pass to Villa.

The tricks have been completely reworked so I will have to relearn it and I can't find the player switch or the close control anywhere.

Manual passing and shooting feels just right its still not fully manual as player stats still count. The telltale loopholes like the eraant pass down the wing seems to have dissappeared so you don't feel as if the AI is deciding the outcome. Of the ball.

Dribbling aah dribbling how I love thee. Just watching the defenders momentum and moving opposite to his body weight is enough to get passed him. Valbuena for me in this instace is magic - the guys low centre of gravity and pace is frightening and is a nice taste of what we can expect of the likes of Messi.

Then you have your riquelmes, pirlos and xavis that orchestrate things beautifully no need to speed around just hoold it up and look for that sublime pass.

Physicality is spot on Soldado, Benzema and Torres play as you would expect them to. Defenders now have this ace up their sleeve to combat the attack as well and I hope that the speed with players like Valbuena doesn't become and issue cos I have been able to outrun a few defenders with a fast striker so I am not sure where the catch up bug talk comes from or is it maybe not present on this demo?

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

ok so played two matches on PS3. Been playing last two years on PC. OMG the graphics on PS3 are horrible. I guess I am used to playing on PC, which looks miles better then this. I noticed the same thing dags did, the non possesing PC is back, that would be really disapointing if that is the case. And would break the game for me. I love the animations. This is not like 2013 at all. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay different, fresh. I assume the fifa guys who have played the demo do not use the r1 and l1 buttons to trap and control. Need to play more when both kids are down for night. oH and GO USA!!!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

OK, I'm happy to say that the Catch-Up bug seems to be gone in this version OR haven't noticed on lower difficulty level than the leaked demo which was on Superstar.

However I'm still annoyed by the lack of agility in players. I hope I can get used to this.

Unfortunate move by Konami to include Boca Juniors and Colo-Colo with the rosters and players appearences as they are. Really, it's a shame. I tried playing with them and I almost puke, I can't stand such a top player as Riquelme with beard, long hair and short heighted. I wonder why haven't Konami left this two teams out of the demo. Would have been a much smarter move to include 2 teams with up-to-date squad and real player faces.

One problem that I have is that Boca Juniores, Santos and Colo Colo... are so overpowred..... cmon guys..... Colo-Colo is almost as good as Bayern in the game!!

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Playing this game takes me back 10 years to the feeling I had playing my first games of PES 3. Can't get this stupid grin off my face:SMUG:

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Yup, he is the best playmaker.
But, too bad that Konami seems to think Riquelme looks like this:

when the game comes out, the first dlc data pack will be the correct faces, of most of the important players.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

urgh man....

I want to like this game I can see its a gem underneath its just so many things are frustrating me, the game plays in slow motion for me everything feels floaty and I cannot dribble for shit (my fault I know) which adds to the frustration

I like the animation but some of the choices the computer makes in certain situations is horrible like I chipped a through ball in the ox should have laced it in on the volley but he shoots with a side foot and a little jump :CONFUSE: and it goes nowhere

there are little moments that are amazing which makes me want to try to like it but at the moment im feeling gutted it hasnt blown me away

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Konami's face is just put there i think as 'generic' place-holder. I guarantee they will put his face in after as a DLC :)

Same with the Rick James Rafael. They have made 0 effort with his appearance. but ohh LORD it plays like him.

A few Negatives from the Demo.

- Some responsiveness issues, no button lag, that is great, apart from dynamic 1-2 passing, don't like the new changes much. Issues regarding loose balls sometimes, players taking just a little too long to respond.

- Turning at angles. Has anyone done a genuine cruyff turn? They seem to be hard to do, used all sorts of buttons but can't do it :( . Need to experiment with dropping the shoulder like feints more.

- keepers seem good and solid, but they don't look 100% finished yet. About 90%

- Still on the Consoles replays are too laggy! Needs to be sorted.

I think my prediction may come true. the Best of PES 2013 will come probably in a 1.02 or most likely a 1.03 patch in say November/December time. all this new stuff will take time to settle.

I really really hope what both of you are saying is true.
However, they could've created a generic face with, at least, a short hair until they release that DLC you are talking about.

I think we all agree with the fact that the responsiveness issues and lack of awareness (at times) kills the experience a little bit. I can't understand how Konami did not notice this a long time ago. Or maybe they did notice it but were uncapable of fixing it 100%?. I don't know. I feel like they rushed the game a little, and we're getting a 80% finished game, in terms of gameplay. Could have been MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better.

That being said, I'm still going to buy it and hopefully they'll improve the game substantially with future updates.

Konami should be given a 11/10 for effort, creating a game primarily for the PS4 on a brand new engine, limited first for the PS3/Xbox, 1st time using all the new havok, M.A.S.S., true ball tech etc..

They haven't been able to have this setup for a long time then tweak it and fine tune it so there are so many things to be sorted. They can even get there this year, it will take time.

Trying to recreate an advanced PES 2013 with all these new features, they have really done fantastically well. There a few things which will need tidying up but I really don't have anything negative to say about their effort.

Konami do try to make a good game, i know they have put the effort in, so i don't tend to feel disappointed since if you try your best, that's all you can ask for.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Yea, there's quite a few faces that are a bit off. Not too bothered with that to be honest as the game plays so well. Still, will be nice to see them improved either by Konami or through the community. Rafael for example looks terrible, but like Klash' said, "Ohh LORD it plays like him." Only real problem I have with the demo is the occasional framerate slowdown in the box.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

Thought I would look for further evidence of the 11vs11 on the game strings:
Take to the online pitch in a match for up to 22 users as a player you developed or as one featured in this title.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

After playing almost 5 hours straight, which i had plenty of 'one more game' moments.

At first the game for me felt a bit delayed, like i would press slide then it wouldn't exactly respond but once i played my 5th game, it felt right and the sliding feels excellent especially when you pull off a great/last ditch tackle.

Shooting is what kind of ruins it for me, i've noticed alot of shots having alot of momentum when i've had to do a spin shot or weak footed shot. Wish the shots were a bit less consistent but not a massive complaint but would be nice if they toned it down a bit.

The dribbling is something i've in parts messed with, someone like kagawa in close/tight situations can get that extra touch to get past a player and it feels good.

All in all, The full retail can't come soon enough!

Good job Konami and staff.

Right stick forward, left stick back and left/right.

Jesus this game is hard as balls. I'm struggling even on pro difficulty. I've only won 2 games out of 15 or so -most end in goalless draws. CPU defense is no joke this year. They close you down very fast and do a great job at stifling available pass lanes.

My only niggle so far is the brief stops between animations when collisions happen, but I can live with that. Otherwise, it plays like a dream.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

I have a feeling this game will END online madness with kids using super teams. If you want to win you must pass a lot and be creative which = realism.
Don't worry 'cause those kids won't even be present online for a long time - this game requires at least 50 games of "baptism" to understand what's going on. This year, we're going to have tons of slow-paced online matches, as the userbase will feature adult people, specially on PC.

I tried the demo one hour ago, for the first time, and ended without a win, without scoring a single goal, with a bad performance overall, but VERY HAPPY anyway.

The same feeling I had when I was 12, and tried PES 3 for the first time. REALISM. The one when regardless of the match outcome, the gameplay alone was worth enough, and that "one more game" feeling. It's finally back.

I liked FIFA 14's gameplay, a much better game than its previous version, but PES 2014 is even better. The animations, the perfect tempo, the player individuality, the lighting, all involving gameplay is awesome.

It's obvious it has its flaws, like the CPU AI possession rates, the dull commentaries, or the SLOOOW menus and replays, but the gameplay makes you forget about any flaw.

If the final version is the same or even better, then one can look with optimism to this franchise's future.

Re: PES 2014 Discussion Thread (NO FIFA DEMO TALK IN HERE!)

I guess after playing 1st demo (Placebo:WORSHIP:) And 2nd demo now. I can safely say i will use Fifa14 for the lower divisions and PES14 untill i can't play this mother fucker anymore.
