Will the gamespeed option be available in the full game like in the beta? That should solve some of the response issues with lose balls.

Just watched a video of some dude playing the demo with English commentary on and it sounds exactly the same as last year! I didn't expect miracles on that end (its PES after all) but at least a bit more variation would be been nice. Hope its just a demo thing.

Well, played tones of matches tonite and i've totally change my mind. Its different, is faster and that causes more spaces.... But what a game. Mi PC is broken so im not feeling like giving a lomg answer.... But is great.

Question though, i have seen another long goal with that shooting animation. We won't see such a shoot on target on most occasions, will we ?

Not my favourite shooting animation though.. it suddenly seems anti-gravity :P

I'm blown away!

Quick thoughts

Notice the slowed down turning speed, especially noticeable on pacey players.
Players feel slower on the ball than off the ball.. they got it right! Fast players seem correctly balanced, I could still escape without catch-up garbage.

Blind turn around passing is massively toned down. Noticed the cpu doing these to a bare minimum. Very good Konami.. very good

Digging the new R-analog pressure. Feels very intuitive, just as double pressure O_o

Widen team on GK shots.. nice touch
GK Throw cancel anyone?
Combination play setups.. How dare they, and you can even manual trigger or mix up the trigger zones and patterns. WOW?!
You can play ALL kinds of ball in this game it's incredible.

Stat overhaul: Elusiveness, Penetration.. Final Ball

I'm really liking this Konami!

Someone said GKs feel like 90% finished, and I agree. Although I'm more than content.. for now...

I hope they'll work on the collisions, because there seems to be a bit of random out of place stumbling going on but only noticed it on a few instances.

Major con: Replays are terrible.

For those who claim Professional is more difficult than Top Player, I'm not buying it. It's noticeably easier.

Finally a game where I can impose my will on the CPU instead of it fighting against my actions. My only goal scored was my fourth game in when I finally thought tactics and moved Pogba a little further up the pitch to aid in the attack, after a sweet little advanced through ball to Benzema the shot had a lot of lag but snapped right in upper corner hitting the crossbar.


Game is going to be great.

Just download the demo in japanese psn and guess what? Jon kabira is back!!!! He is so much better then the english comentary... Shutooo, goooollll. Now we can say that the king is back!!!

Boys just played the demo providing konami don't stuff up the game till release I can finally safely say THE KING IS FINALLY BACK. Individuality at its finest , u can tell a big difference when riquelme does a through ball as compared to someone average. There's a few niggles like slowdown with players while turning but to me that's very minor. All I'm waiting for now is master league details. Brilliant :-)

That's why I'll always switch to Japanese commentary whenever I get the game. Something Fifa can never match ;)

It's slightly slower compared to PES, but can't go wrong with either versions that's for sure.

Okay, I'm getting used to it but still have some reasonably silly niggles:

- I've now chested 3 goals, including a corner kick. Not sure what it is up with the header detection, but it's pretty awful when I float in a cross, go up for the easy header and instead chest it in some random direction.

- The 'catch-up bug' maybe gone, but there's still a lack of danger when a fast player gets away down the wings. Lateral movement is really slow, so even if you've a big lead with a very fast player, you're unlikely to get a shot off. Not the end of the world.

- Some of the saves are incredible. De Gea just went down in a one on one with his foot, splitting image of reality. Best goalkeeper animations I've ever seen in a game.

There's something weird about the reactions/pacing of the game, but it's also endearing. Going to take a long time this one. I'm down with that.

Butting lag isn't a major concern for me for the most part. But not once has one of my players jumped to attack a header. Not even jumped. This is my only concern. The game is extremely sluggish it needs a +1 or +2 speed setting so badly.

Is anyone else who plays on manual getting some really hard through balls when the Triangle (Y)? It doesn't happen all the time, but it is very annoying when it does?

Also, to anyone who played the leaked demo: Is there anything that was better in that demo than this one? or is this demo better in all aspects?

The leaked demo had game speed adjustment. Nothing else was better

Great game by KONAMI this year. I am just starting to get the hang of getting past players using RB. Hopefully I'll be able to learn something outside of the basic controls!

Advanced through ball makes my brain hurt. I think I will stick to basic/manual for now. It feels like I'm a beginner at PES when playing this demo.

I'm surprised more people aren't saying anything about the ease of keeping possession again this year. Do other people not play slow, possession-based football? Or are people happy to always have 70% possession?

It's a very good game but I feel some people were so desperate for this to be the best PES that there's some rose-tinted glasses opinions going on at the moment.

Also, anyone else have really bad stutters frame rate on the team game plan screens? I'm trying to make subs and it's SO slow and stuttering.


Gameplay wise.... I'm only a few games in so far but I'm enjoying it. It feels so much more alive than 2013. Teammates making good runs, supporting, ai trying to block you and move around. More difficult to play through balls and get 1v1. So much so that when I get in on goal I'm desperate to score and if i dont, im gutted because I know that could have been my only chance.
Ive not had that feeling in a footie game for a long time.

I've not figured out the new tricks/dummy this. Do you just use the right stick in a direction and then hold the left stick to start moving?

Love the new tactics too with that icon that pops up. Really makes you have to learn your teams strengths and create your game plan around it. You can't just pick any tactic regardless of your stats. If their pace is poor or crossing or whatever.... I found that certain plans just don't work as well.

It's also got that difficulty spike that the old games used to have. I remember picking up PES 3 and thinking it was the same game but then struggling to even get a shot on goal. It took me ages just to re learn how to play.
