dont know why youre trying to make it sound like i'm some crying kid. you said something, i disagreed with you on youre most likely wrong. thats it. no need for the drama dude

anyway, i still stick by what i said. it seems pretty clear to me, but you can think otherwise too. its all good

Pretty clear, in your head, I'm sure to trust that then :WORSHIP:

You just skip over the facts though of course.

Anyway, I will try and send the demo over to a old account I think I have, not sure if it's possible.

Will try it tomorrow, if it works happy to let a few people have a go at downloading the demo from it. Will post if I have any luck.

The demo was a mistake. They realized it, decided to pull it but for some reason Sony didn't get the memo. It is normal for developer to submit multiple build. They don't have to publicly announce it every time unless it is set for official release.

There are plenty similar case happen with other developer. For example an alpha build was released accidentally (Dead Island) or an update that actually make the game / software worse (Nvidia 196.75 driver). Stuff happen.

i'm not gonna play the blame game but this build was submitted to sony as a demo wether they changed their minds or not
lets just put it down to bad communication or a pes fanboy that works at sony lol

Look at from this way. Konami didn't want this 'demo' or correctly Beta released because it has game breaking issues in regards to responsiveness.

It was put out by mistake, despite these gamebreakers, everyone seems to be very happy. People can already see this is quality.

I'm surprised how everyone seems t understand this clearly wasn't ready and we ant seeing people go apeshit about the flaws.

There is no such thing as 'Random'. This accident that happened, maybe it was for a reason we will find out later. Good times for PES i say.

very true people have been very accommodating in dealing with flaws and enjoying what the game can be this is why I like evo-web

I tell you what, for a demo that is rough around the edges and one that Konami didn't want us playing, I can already say this is going to be the best playing PES this generation, period! Reminds me a lot of PES 3 & 4. It's got that addictive quality about it. The new animations, physics and customizable camera (with panning:SMUG:) make a HUGE difference.

THAT, in a way it feels that this game is what the first PES in this gen should have been!

Konami have absolutely nailed Pirlo and the smooth effortless way he plays.

There are some lovely heading animations in this. First time I've enjoyed headers in PES for a long time.

Still wish Konami would provide the option to skip replays without having to mash the start button every time.

is it also normal for these builds to leak all the time? or is it more likely that konami, a company renowned for it's awful communication even from their most die hard fans, failed to properly clarify the issue to sony?

Who knows? It could be Sony too given their past record. "Leaking" and "accident" aren't unfamiliar with them.

Anyway i don't see why this is so important.

Ok, I didn't play many games, but I'll give some of my first impressions. Firstly I apolagize for not having a very good english, it's hard for me to make a more elaborate and longer post. But before doing it it's important to say that there has been a long time since the last time I played a footy game. I gave my copy of PES 2013 as a gift to my brother and I don't play Fifa 12 (didn't bother to buy Fifa13).

I think the last footy game I played was Fifa, despite the fact that I'm a PES fan, and because of this I was shooting when I was trying to make a long ball pass to a teammate:YAWN:.

I just didn't get confused doing the opposite (I mean making a long ball pass when I meant to shoot) because I simply didn't have the chane to shoot at the goals opponent, it's really, really hard to get a chance to score in this game. I have been playing as Bayern against Santos, and when I have possession, the first big challenge I have is to pass through midfield. The CPU midfield AI has a very good sense of positioning, there's no much alternative rather than passing around or even backwards. As soon as I give the ball to Ribery, the opponent defence suddenly grow up on me,there are usually two players pressing Ribery wich is a good thing the AI has that idea that it's important to not give much space to a dangerous player like Ribery.

That challenge of trying to find some man unmarked that might allow you to reach the space around the big area is one of the most positive things on this demo. The game forces you to play a more build up game, it's slow (I'm playing on +1 speed wich is fine for me even though some moves feel a bit sluggish), and just like in real football, you can't sprint in the midfield (unless you have a huge free space on a counter, wich is a situation that it may be very rare), you are forced to just move the left stick, and the good side of it is that players can make more tight and small turns and protect the ball better than previous games. I also feel that a good first touch is always important, you can't really keep R1 held down specialy before your player recieves the ball, as it may result on a bad touch that would make easy for the defence to anticipate to your move and steal the ball.

Despite some bugs, overall the game is really good and it has an immense potential. Playing PES 2014 is really something that feels fresh. I mean when you play it you know it is PES, but it's completetly in another league in many aspects compared to previous versions.

The technical side of the game had a HUGE improvement. Graphics are more sharp and clean, colors are vibrant in a good way, it doesn't look cartoonish at all, and the lighting is awesome, realistic and very dynamic, you can see that in replays with the camera set on an up close action, from one side the sunlight is intense and from the other side is the opposite, even the color vibrance varies from hot to cold, it's very dynamic. The pitch textures are awsome too, it looks great and easily more detailed than the previous version even on a wider camera, and up close it is simply beatiful, true 3d grass I think. Stadium has also a great atmosphere as well.

Animations are also fantastic, very realistic movements despite the bad response at times. I would say it is more than a generation leap on this department. The only problem with animations are some passing animations, but overall they are fine.

As I said almost only positive things, I'll try to say some of the negative things of this demo:

- Even tho passing feels very organic (great ball physics), there's something very wrong with the through pass. The game simply can't read your intented target most of the time.

- Another problem with through pass is that even the CPU AI sometimes pass though the ball, I mean the AI simply forget the ball and let it passed behing after a through pass. The awareness of players on through passes is really bad, to a point that it seems to be a bug.

- When marking I don't feel much control over players just moving with the left stick and using jockey as an attempt to block a shot or even to tackle the man on the ball by pressing X 2x. When I only move with the left stick, I feel that players respond better with than without the ball

- I am missing the right stick to manually switch the cursor. The cursor as well has a minor lag when switching from one player to another, the lag is not only present on some players movements, but also on the cursor.

- There are a few ignored fouls

- Framerates on the intro scene are very low

This is all atm. I hope you enjoy it

I NEED to try this demo now!

and just like in real football, you can't sprint in the midfield (unless you have a huge free space on a counter, wich is a situation that it may be very rare)

Hey man, an excellent post, great read and excellent English as well.

This point I've bolded.

This is key.

After I played the demo I went and played an manual game online of PES 13. There is so much more space in the midfield.

I just powered through the midfield with K P Boateng and Freddy Guarin. The other guy was using full sprint for 4-5 seconds a time in the midfield with Ribery, twisting, turning for fun at full pace.

I just get the impression you won't be able to do this at all in PES 14. For my money, that's for the better. It will put some people off who have been playing a lot of PES 13, where there seems like so much space to just sprint into all the time, but it doesn't really reward patient play or even encourage it, I know I am guilty sometimes of this sometimes just because it's so easy to slip into.

yup. i mentioned this a few pages back as its one of the most promising aspects of the demo. players now feel like they fill-out the pitch

Definitely feels like they fill out the pitch more, I also sense positioning is going to be a lot better and make a bigger impact of the game this time.

In PES13 no matter what settings you made players would take up terrible positions, quite often in and around the midfield leaving gaps to just walk through, which of course fell into through ball spammers hands as they have space to run into and then hit and unchallenged inch perfect assisted through-ball.

Safe to say I'm anticipating good times, much more like the slower versions of PES. I've never liked the fast paced ones much.

Great impressions DuduBR9, very deep and objective comment, and it feels that came from a real PES player.

Can't wait to try the true demo September 11!

Atmosphere is better this year. Crowd sounds more authentic and less like the jungle tribe from King Kong. The PA announcer freshens things up with goal scorer names and injury time announcements. Commentary seems slightly improved with Champion having a few fresh lines.

Ball seems to bounce around more randomly although on occasion the AI seems to sometimes completely lose sight of where the ball is:LOL:

I feel like the final game will be amazing.
After playing about 20 matches, here's the good an bad.

BAD:
-Player individuality has been toned down A LOT from previous PES versions.
-Keepers are far too good (WHO THE HELL SAID THAT KEEPERS SUCK? THEY GET ALMOST EVERY SHOT FAR OR NEAR).
-The catch-up bug.
-Overpowered through balls.
-Sometimes the game doesn't recognize who you were aiming the ball for.
-Dribbling is almost impossible.
-And scoring from long range has been impossible for me so far.
-Slow response (I know it's supposed to be improved for the official demo, but it's still worth mentioning).
-Bad framerate at times.
-Players awareness.
-Terrible lag in cutscenes and replays.

GOOD:
-What I love the most is the battle for the midfield .
-The AI trying to keep possession, playing the ball backwards as many times as they need to.
-Really hard to take the ball from AI.
-Physical battles.
-Passings feels great.
-Animations.
-Graphics.
-The overall feeling when playing.

I know I've listed more bad things than good ones, but I do think that if they fixed the catch-up bug, if they really did sort out the slow response, the bad frame rates, and if they made dribbling a A LITTLE BIT easier and less stiff, it can be the best football game ever.

...This and if they can get the pitch wear & tear real time, like in Actua soccer. Man what a game.:SMUG:

Very good impressions DuduBR9, agree fully!

Only animatiosn that Konami really has to work on is passing, specially 1st touch passes, theres some really weird ones.

Yea, they seem a bit too casual or something, at times. I'm also having a hard time hitting a hard low pass across the width of the pitch. Players seem to want to pass it with the instep when I want them to get the laces on the ball and drill it.

Thanks mate.

Yeah, midfield seems to be "crowded" but ina good way, players have a good sense of positioning, it's challenging to pass through it.

But I'm slowly getting better at the game. My biggest concern right one (at least is the one that happens more often) is the poor awreness of players when a throug pass is made.

I just sent you a PM. Will you check it out for me please?

simple play, in my own half, but it feels so good
