PES 2014 Discussion Thread

It's a tough thing to balance isn't it... response vs smoothness.. because if the response times are slow, it's smoother, but they move like tanks.

Blame Asim's impressions and then shut up. lol. Btw, these vids were probably NOT made on the most recent code. NO ONE even gave this as a possibility. This place is far too negative and lacks constructive and malleable viewpoints on what we saw.

Konami needs to answer the concerns of the goalkeepers and just make a video of goalkeepers showing their improvements, showing footage from higher difficulty :P

As far as the gameplay looks. The animations and flow look worlds away from the E3 stage demo. I'm wondering what happened. Looks way too much like PES2013. I'm glad Asim complained. Hopefully they woke the hell up!

Actually Asim is one of the few that complained about the tankiness feel of the players; the majority complained about the delay after the trigger is pressed. Now i'm not implying Asim is directly responsible for the cut off animation transitions to increase responsiveness; i'm just trying to put things into perspective that opinions are just opinions; no one is really lying and don't take anyone's impressions as godsend.

why are you making excuses for them.. if this is not the final product will look like so why they don't write "this is not the final product "

Evo-web negative?

That's like saying its silly to pass judgement on a game you haven't played.

Absoliut the same scenes but with diffirent teams .
WTF is going on ? Maybe they just... rendering the situations or what ?

P.S sorry for bad gifs but i'm in office now and i don't have the tools here to make the better gifs animations

DON'T YOU KNOW it WON'T look like this? We are weeks away from release. I figured it was common sense to know that. Feedback from GC will also change the game. You lot seem to be so one-sided in your view that what you saw is the final version. That assumption is probably miles away from the reality. You call it excuses, I call it common sense.

And ppl are shitting themselves believing wholeheartedly, WITHOUT EVIDENCE, that these vids are from THE LATEST BUILD. How is that? These vids could've been prepared months ago ,and probably were. Look at the video of the GK glitch:

YouTube - Worst defensive moment in PES ever? (NOTE: Not final game code) Look at the lighting and animations.

It look MILES ahead of the other vids we saw this week AND THE ONES AT E3. Why is that? Let's hear anyone dare to answer respectfully and wisely.

Do they find some sort of enjoyment to alienate fans by making videos of older builds then ? I mean how hard can it be to make decent footage from the latest build ? I could do it easily and I'm not even a master of editing video clips.

Maybe this videos are not from the actual game :D maybe thay are just rendering from the engine.. I don't have other explain for this situations ,they are absolutist identical

Absolute and utter horse shit. The amount of vairation of long balls on PES2013 is far more than any other PES game. You can make low and high trajectory using the R2 buttons. Crosses can also be whipped in across field which is something PES struggled.

As far as tussling for the ball goes that is related to the physics engine and doesn't exost in PES yet. PES2014 and the Havok engine has adressed this.

As for game modes rermoving league mode and international challenge was daft but didn't break the game altogether- there is plenty to play.

Its ironic you call konami lairs and go do the same. /QUOTE]

why call me a liar when you agree with 2/3 thing i say?

and long ball is broken. i play manual passing and long ball is not right, maybe that is why i say and you dont

VERY good question. That was mine as well. It's almost certainly NOT from a later build than the build the Gk glitch was taken from. Look at the COLOUR of the pitch in this: YouTube - Worst defensive moment in PES ever? (NOTE: Not final game code)

Compare it w/ the videos released this week. It's NOT even close. Something is weird about those vids showing the game's mechanics. They don't look like they are as polished as even the E3 build, which further aids my hypothesis.

I agree with you, the pitch's texture and coloring are enough evidence for me to see that the previous is older than the one you posted.
It makes no sense to that , hopefully next season they get the equivalent of the FOX engine for their PR department (if they even have one) cause they're currently really shit.
A company that is so far behind its competitor in terms of sales would do better to improve its PR right ? I mean it's logical for me.

I liked the atmosphere. Looks fantastic, but I am a little concerned with some of the animations. and a bit concerned with the keeper ai. But will judge when I play the game. Free kick aimming thing might make it a bit easy to score from them.

this is off screen
off screen will always look smoother, more colorful

this is very not likely. i dont believe this

gamescon finish on 25th august, pes release date 20th/24th september

pes 2014 has to be 'gold' (finished, prepare for shipping) about 20day-1month before release. if they still implement gameplay change after gamescon, something is very very wrong. in final days will be used to touch-ups and not major changes

Konami has never been any good in PR anyway; remember the e3 2010 preshow? That was funniest thing i've ever saw; it was the best thing ever; you would never get that kind of presentation ever.

Freekicks ? Why fix what isn't broken ? I don't get that decision. I think the theories and variables behind the current system are as close to perfect as you could hope to wish for. Very strange.

They recorded it yesterday and yes its that bad, just joking , but looks like I am not the only who expected more from Fox engine after these big mouth PR announcement from Konami, who knows maybe demo proves me I am wrong, but I doubt it.

Online modes ?

Mr how do You know when they recorded it?:PIG:

Don't you know they want to get Asim's impressions one last time before they ship? Lol. But seriously though. Adam said a few wks ago that they wanted to get Asim to play the latest build, b4 everyone else at GC, so he could see the improvements (and offer FEEDBACK?). Never underestimate the newfound power Asim has to influence Konami's game. lollll

Very good find!
They took the same scene with other textures.
I think tomorrow we will see actual gameplay video and we are blown away ;)

*hopes honestly*

What's happening with this game is very strange. During last E3, we saw awesome gameplay footage, and the average (and justified) opinion was "This year is the good one".

Then Asim warned us with his impressions, saying the July preview code had some "dejà-vu" moments from PES 2013. And now Konami releases some PR videos, and man they look very poor gameplay-wise compared to E3. Even worse, they kind of confirm Asim's fears. Now I'm remembering the PC requirements and I think myself "How in Earth they can be the same as PES 2013, if the game is supposed to be an overhaul, including a whole new engine, and Havok?"

Seriously, what's happening?

i do think the latest youtube videos look more like pes 2013 then the first videos we saw. Seems like they tonend down all the new animations...

*Sigh. Did you read anything I wrote? It is very likely that the most recent 'Youtube vids' are from a much EARLIER build than the 'first'/E3 vids. *sigh.. I feel like people on here just skip over comments, watch vids, and then respond.
