How quickly one's impression change the whole tune of a community. Just sim through WENB, it is drama all over again. It is dangerous to put too much weight on a sole impression. At the end of the day (borrowing Hulk Hogan favourite phrases), it still a subjective opinion.

At this point any written impression mean nothing to me, tbh the hype train for me already cool down weeks ago with so much stuff happening and quality releases. I need to see more than just screen capture and written article before passing my judgement. Maybe it wasn't too bad that they decide to push back the demo release date.

asim is a mod or something on WENB so people over there seem to trust his opinion more, that coupled with the shambles PR demo thing (which theyve been hyping up for 3 weeks now)... yeah, not surprising people are upset haha

Adam wants WENB to be another PR wing of Konami but that's not what the site should be about. He should wind his neck in and leave Asim to formulate his own opinions.

If PES2014 truly represents change then it will stand on it's own two feet. Let the game do the talking and stop all this talk of early code.

Exactly. Regardless, the issues I had w/ FIFA13 seem not to be fixed in FIFA14, so these impressions don't bother me that much. I will still buy PES14 and probably borrow FIFA14. The PES14 Gameplay videos just seem to show the strategy that should occur in every game of football.

I don't know why, but that Asim's guy review sounds more credible to me than all the others...this sounds exactly like Konami. I hope he's wrong though.

Even if his impressions are spot on do you really think that after so much years of old engine the fox engine magically could have fixed the game in just one year?

I know it's frustrating to have another year with problems, but it's better to have problems because of the start of a new engine than having problems because of the old old ps2 pes engine.

As a senior staff member at WENB, with big brother looking over his shoulder, it's not in Asim's interest to be negative without a reason to be. That's why I think there is something more sincere about his impressions.

Of course, negativity doesn't equal honesty but nor does unbridled positivity.

For what it's worth I think Asim's impressions have been fairly reliable in the past.

A true football 'what'? And Xavi is a completely different player to Ronaldo. Sure, Ronaldo's play is great but he cannot sit in midfield and pull the strings. Without someone doing that, would Ronaldo be able to do as much?

I don't think I want this eurogamer guy to like PES2014 after reading his FIFA impressions.

Furthermore, nobody wants the "new engine" to feel just like the old one. They shouldn't have allowed that to happen! FFS Konami!

How can it pertain to dishonesty if he works for a Winning Eleven blog formerly run by the current PES community manager, and he goes against what would suit any ulterior motives? Negativity in this situation can only come from honesty. But honesty cannot only come from negativity - that's the distinction.

Similarly it's true that objectivity, judgement, perspective and rationality aren't exclusive to negativity. But there's no way somebody in Asim's position posts that if they don't (rightly or wrongly) believe it.

Be more realistic

Fifa 07 and 08 had a new engine. Look at Fifa 07 and Fifa 08. They were ugly, unresponsive, slow. There was a great input delay.

There is a great difference between creating a new tech engine and applying it to interactive environment.

The new engine is clearly there, but with early development problems.

I think we underestimate the power of PCs. PC hardware have been improving rapidly in recent years. It takes weeks to months for a newer and better hardware to hit the market in order to upgrade our PCs. It takes years for games to develop. I think the system requirements for PES 2014 sound about right.

And that happen with 90% of the previews from games from big companies.Usually they only destroy games in these previews that are made by small companies. And the reason for that is that if they destroy PES or Fifa in a preview they will not receive a preview code anymore and they would have nothing to write about, that´s buisness.

Honestly all these previews are bullshit for me, i really miss the days that there were no "hype train" and we just tested the games ourself to get an opinion. All that "showbizz" that surround the games nowadays is really annoying.
