I can't understand why KONAMI doesn't hire English and Spanish partners who were former footballers...

And some kind peoples who can listen and the critique of fans...

I am very disappointed with Adam and John Murphy...But John is a good guy...

I do not like fairy tales and every year we hear more fairy tales from the peoples of KONAMI...

What I meant is, if this was fed back directly to them and not posted publicly, it would've been treated as bug feedback etc. But because it was posted to the public, maybe they wanted it to be emphasized on all the good things and new features it has, in addition to mentioning the concerns, like some of the other write-ups out there.

Exactly my thoughts.

I know nothing about how the work-flow between Konami and the Testers is supposed to work. Whether Konami gives the people who had the chance to test early codes a specific email address or some private website where they are supposed to tell them what needs to be improved before the release date, or whether Konami is OK with them going public on their websites/blogs with written previews. But I guess there's a reason why we never see predominantly negative write-ups on FIFA OR PES. Most of the times these previews/reviews are 85-90% happy about everything, and they leave a 15-10% feedback with things that need to be changed.

They could have had someone with a clue actually play this game, right? Christ.

His view is perfectly valid to the majority that play that way.

The problem with football games is there's not enough competition. If you like shooters, you play CoD if you want fast-paced arcade style fun, you play ARMA if you want a simulation. Football gamers don't have that option, as both PES and FIFA try to incorporate both sim/arcade elements and come away with neither.

Full respect for Asim for putting his neck on the line. It would be far easier to run a arse-licking fansite, thats only purpose is to engineer your own career aspirations *cough*

Proper gaming journalism from him. Eurogamer article is a load of wank in comparison.

Well, based on few minutes of that gameplay video at E3 I really didn't see anything that resembles the old engine, but playing it is better than just watching it, so I'll give Asim the benefit of the doubt since he had the opportunity to play the game.

I tend to believe in Asim impressions more than those previews from big sites like Eurogamer, and it's also better to expect not much from the game than expecting that it will be awesome and then being disappointed after release.

But I have hopes that the Gamescon demo code will be praised by many and better than the one Asim played.

How do I go about getting a preview code anyway? Do you just blog post any minor press release about the game until someone from Konami approaches you?

IMHO, the only way for Konami to stop this worrying growing snowball is to release something that will shut the negativity down. A full-gameplay Video in HD could work. Or maybe some exciting news about Master League full of screenshots. I don't know...

Otherwise they're just letting everybody think Asim's right. Adam can't convince anybody otherwise.

For what it's worth I think Asim's impressions have been fairly reliable in the past.

Not at all, in the last few year's he was pretty much part of the hype-machinery in tandem with Adam. I remember him very well calling PES 2012's gameplay-quality as "sexual" when previewing it.

Since he is now criticizing it, it probably means he has fallen out with Adam.

Regardless what it is, since Adam doesn't disagree with the faults Asim mentioned regarding the preview-version, but is merely disappointed for Asim making them public, we have to assume the 60-70%-code he played indeed has these deficiencies.

I guess we'll have to wait till gamescom to see what Konami could improve.

Hope this demo comes out soon, the rumors of its release are worst than Man united transfer rumors

I hope the demo comes as close to release-time of the game as possible, two weeks before would be ideal. Nothing worse than a demo with non-polished code.

Personally I'm gonna skip the demo either way and wait for the final game.

Those are the impressions from the italian website spaziogames. Honestly i was a bit worried and didnt want to read it cause that website in last 4-5 years clearly stated that they prefer FIFA, but it seems they are all more than happy about PES2014. Its the first time i read one of their preview about pes that is so full of hope. They have mentioned a couple of issues like that Asim guy, but first of all they say that most of them will probably be fixed in final code, second, the good things much surpass the issues. For example they feel like pes2014 is a total new game, so they feel the FOX ENGINE much more. Later, if needed i may translate the full article in english but i think google translate its enough :D

All rewievers said Pes 2014 used new Fox Engine and it feels and look from scratch. Mr Asim said it's feels like old engine and everybody trust him? I don't believe him. Reviewers, screens, videos schows Pes 2014 in good way.

I have some Editors Questions:
-Can you Import unlimited Logos?
-Is the Stadium Editor in the Game?
-Can you Create New Teams?
-Can you import Scan Faces?

You showed me the light, I was playing FIFA a few years ago and that changed too, now I'm strictly PES so it was only a matter of time before I joined this site, I was tired of watching you go on it all the time lol

Thanks for sharing m8.I still have hope..

Asim's impressions are Asim's impressions, not the truth, not mine.
At this point it should be better to also read prorevo impressions to balance everything, don't you think?

Marvin played the game since Friday.

Here
It's a bit rough translated, but the meaning is not lost

Since last Friday we have a preview version to Pro Evolution Soccer in 2014 by prorevo and had the opportunity, once more the game to spend time with. Advance a few important facts about the arrangement: The preview version is the code, also in the new KONAMI HQ Windsor was playable (impressions of Bild.de, GamePro, more infos I & II). This is about 75% and reflected the code up on some performance improvements, which we have already played in the German Championship .

Therefore we recommend our article in advance once "PES 2014: first impressions of a new game" for reading. In addition, a few additions come. While I get especially on questions, which you have written in the comments to the aforementioned article.

Size of the preview code:
The preview code was little this year. Four teams (Bayern Munich, FC Santos, Germany & Italy) were available. That only the friendly mode was playable, is so common in a preview. Surprisingly, I could take but not further affect the settings. Neither settings such as the shape, the K.I..-strength or the length of the game, waiting for the weather or the time.

With FC Bayern Munich, you could play in brilliant sunshine at the Allianz Arena and with the FC, the ball in the Konami arena, flares, including evening rolled Santos. But I want to be also not ungrateful. This year, it runs just slightly different with the development of the new engine. Thats how much work and innovation in the engine is fine so and if your PES 2014 in the demo (exact date follows this week) itself, you will immediately feel.

Graphics:

Graphically, the new PES 2014 is really fun. Especially the detail views are incredible. I play the game on your PC to highest quality in 1080 p. At that resolution you could see even the woven patterns of the shirts or the nozzle and the jerseys flutter when running in the wind. Also, you can see the sweat on the forehead of the player and the single whiskers. Details of how you previously has not seen them in PES. The first screenshots are really a joke when compared to what is apparently possible in the game. I don't know why Konami still has published it. Maybe is the tactic of surprise you positively.

Love to detail is everywhere evident. In addition to original players tunnel in the Alliance, you can see even police officers who provide security arena in the corners of the stadium. The little things just that one can forget sometimes for a moment that it is only a simulation and no TV coverage.

My only criticism is a fine grain, which occurs at 1080 p. While still crisp sharp edges at 720 p resolution, 1080 p just occur that grit. I suspect that at the point the graphics card simply tried to represent as many details as possible and this leads to this slightly unpleasant effect. If the ball is rolling and the player move, that no longer stands out. You realize it but it is only when stationary balls. I have redirected it but also on the team and am confident that there just something on the graphics output must be tightened.

Gameplay:

What becomes clear after about two dozen games is that PES 2014 is a really new game. Make sure the new animations. Everything, and I mean really "everything" has become dynamic. PES 2014 will be the 11.PES on my shelf and never before it has given new animations to such an extent. Thus, the possibilities increase in all areas of gameplay. However, the challenges for the man who controls the game get at least to the same extent.
The deadly pass is no magic bullet. Sex from the own half of triangle and CR7 send the counter tactic no longer Nr. 1.

Rather, it is now an then, want to be timed in terms of direction and power. The triangle pass now for goalkeepers is available. Here you can your back the ball to the counterattack, toss with a little practice, directly into the barrel and so the game speed.

As a supplement to my first report remains to say that one must accustom to play (similar to the NBA2K series) with two analog sticks. The left one is the center of gravity for the direction in which the player basically runs and in which the ball should be played responsible and regulates the rights. And this has a fundamental impact. Because when the ball much decides so. Who wants to take the ball as quickly, which should align the center of gravity in the direction of the going to the player with ball. At speed dribbles decides as the right stick strongly on the success of an action and any physical contact, you can do with the stick Act. This 2-stick controller is quite challenging for someone who mühesam has emerged from the keyboard to the analog stick, and need certainly the one way or another training session. But it also ensures that skills are really worth.

A point to compliment the gameplay still must be worked on is the players change. I just hope that the game in this beta sees too many extra loops before it assigns the next player. There's definitely a large delay of two or three tenths. That sounds like not much, may cause but in some situations just that it comes one step too late. In addition to the fact that some commands are still too long need to be carried out (because the current animation must run clearly until the end), I am very fond of the game play. With any other game, you learn the new ways to make better use. Fine tuning is definitely necessary, but are really something big could be created here.

Because an emotion through the challenges on the virtual lawn also returned: the own goal celebration. You learn to appreciate goals again. The K.I. was definitely so strong that I was grateful about every goal that I could achieve.

Unfortunately I could not find out which level it was set. It was hard, but not impossible. The balancing fit just fine in the area. I'm also not a fan of one 7-5 in a 10 min game. Therefore, I feel this development as very positive, I also wonder what has impact on the PES League .

Atmosphere:

This point is difficult to assess. The commentator was in English and the fan chants are not fully integrated. However, already the famous Wechselgesagt "Bavaria, Bavaria" were to perceive at the FC Bayern and a "Super Bavaria, super Bavaria, hey, hey" is also noticed. To some more crowd chants, which were accompanied with rhythm clapping and drums I but here hard to describe with words. So I'm completely.

The reactions of the audience reflect that principle, what is happening on the square. Particularly positive the applause after ball conquests and the murmur are noticed after a shot of the opponent flying in front close to the own box.

New: The sound can be 2014 very much individual mix in PES. In the future, there are 7 categories, which you can different weight with values from 0-15. Here I take over the English title and write this small comments:
Menu screen sound effects (such as it is, if you navigate you through the pause menu)
BGM volume level (how loud the music menus should be generally or when the game highlights are shown)
Commentary volume level (the volume of the commentator)
In-game: Crowd noise (as should be according to the reactions of the audience on game situations and their crowd chants)
In-game: PA announcements (this setting affects the announcements of the commentator)
In-game: Stadium music (the translation is not difficult: Stadium music.) However, I can not say (yet) where it exactly is affect. Spontaneously only the enema scenes and their music come to mind)
In-game pitch sounds (this setting decides how loud you can hear the players on the course. Their screams in a tackling or the sound when your step one to the ball)
With this wealth of options should anyone put together his personal mix and individual items as you like weight can.

In addition to the sounds, also some single players contribute to the Atmohsphäre. In addition to the various running sequences, which have become significantly better and scramble for a heavy foul E.g. noticed, that players discuss after the first half with the referee on the way to the cabin, if previously airlifted a team member from the square.

The fans

An important part of the fans may contribute to the atmosphere. Because there a lot has happened, I make up an own point for this purpose. The fans have become clearly individual. On the one hand on the look: There are different types (men / women with different skin tones) and various styles of clothing. Normal fan jerseys over Jersey TankTops up to casual wear, there are a range of variations. The casual wear has various colors so shades arise there again. Overall, the color of the home team dominated on the ranks. Is new in PES 2014 that the away fans have their own block. As well as in real football the away fans at the Allianz Arena, for example, in the upper part under the roof may take place.
Look the fans but not only different, they are also different animated. Examples: If I get a hit as the home team, the guest block jumps up and cheering, while my own fans with a head shake or wave off. As the fans one after the other (not closed like a wall) stand up when I enter for example, into the opposing penalty area. After my goal completed the post went, some fans entangled arms, some cheered me on and when the ball was fully understood, the audience sat down again one at a time. Great cinema!

Game physics

The ball physics made clear differences, whether an action of the moving happens, or if the player. This affects E.g. directly on the pace of a passport. This is for the airdrops of the goalkeeper clearly, you can now also simply fake.
PES 2014 but makes the largest step in the collision. Arms, which disappear in bodies or balls through gliding through opponents have really become the exception. The new engine calculates the Körperkontake worlds better than was the case in previous parts. Along with the new animated fly the opponents for fouls in a thousand different ways what countless restraining orders has courted me simply from interest in the variations.

Referee

And thus we would be on the next subject: Referees are always a theme for themselves. Recognized sound off. The fouls that right more often and more accurately be whistled by the better collision queries, spread the Lords but far too many cards. Smallest touches at the 2 x X tackles get one already yellow cards and as last man you get a red card for leg even when on the wing at all, no direct scoring chance was given. Also I flew once by the place, because I'm gegrätscht with a striker in the goalie. This was actually a door closing action and provides however for some frustration. Overall you can adjust to the hard line, but as somewhat more tolerance and sensitivity I would prefer.

The menu

The main menu has been completely revised. While you had to navigate past parts from left to right, all game modes are now listed on the right side. In my version, "Match", "Football Life", "Edit", "Competition" and "Training" were. "Competition" the Cup and the returning League mode, as well as the licensed competitions are likely to conceal. Unfortunately, only the point of "Match" was available as described above. On the left side you will find then icons for information (vlt. Gallery and DLC), settings, online and the button, to stop the game.

PC system requirements:

KONAMI are the PC system requirements as follows in the settings.exe:

Minimum system requirements:
Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2, 7
Intel Pentium IV processor 2.4 GHz or equivalent processor
1 GB RAM
Video card NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or AMD ATI Radeon x 1300. Pixel/vertex shader 3.0 and a VRAM 128 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card is required.

Recommended system requirements:
Windows XP SP3, Vista SP2, 7
Intel Core2 Duo 2,0GHz or equivalent processor
2 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 7900, AMD ATI Radeon HD2600 or higher. Pixel/vertex shader 3.0 and a VRAM 512 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card is required.

Edit options on a PC:

Without going into great detail here: building the PC files will be completely new. .Cpk files are now in place of the old .img files. Here, too, the new engine is the reason. As soon as the demo, some experts will certainly find the corresponding templates among you and publish.

Conclusion

The game has very huge potential. I deliberately write potential because indicates the new engine, what fantastic football simulation is possible. The term also includes that still not all about running. Fortunately, we have but a few more weeks till the release and we are moving into a phase where every day of development can decisively influence the game. The basic framework is impressive. If Konami still get the player changes and fine tuning fit, a strong season ahead of us. Then, only the online mode must match from my point of view.

I don't :o

Thats why the only news that really matters is when the demo will be out so that way we can judge the game for ourselves. This whole fiasco on the twitter is stupid at best.

The demo release date/announcement is poorly handled, too.
