FS! Looks like I'm gonna have to upgrade my 2004 Dell Dimension, then:THINK:

Asim is just going through PMS. After that tweet from Adam he became very bitter and resentful. Now, he just goes around trying to instill doubt in the fanbase. No footplanting eh? Gameplay vids speak otherwise. So much BS is probably in that impression due to his newfound anger at Konami's rep Adam. Sad day for Asim. REALLY sad day.

Doubt it mate. I reckon he's just trying to be objective and tell it like it is. Critical thinking usually doesn't go down well with Adam.

"Within 30 seconds of playing PES 2014 I knew, fairly instinctively, that this is the year that my allegiances switch back again."

jesus christ what kind of review/preview is this

Two gems from him:

"As a knock-on, however, the game slows down considerably in midfield, and while the game's being sold this year partly on its embracing of playmakers like Pirlo and Xavi, I can't help but feel if this isn't quite what we want from a football game. Pirlo and Xavi are aesthetes to admire, but only a true football hipster would rather be blessed with their talents than those of either of the Ronaldos. "

"Add-in revamped ball-protecting and better team-mate intelligence in defence, and you essentially have a game that rewards patient, possession-based play much more than in recent years. As an impatient player who's relied on chipped through-balls and constantly holding down right-trigger for the past decade, I have mixed feelings about this. "

I don't know why, but that Asim's guy review sounds more credible to me than all the others...this sounds exactly like Konami. I hope he's wrong though.

I really hope that when we get our hand on this game we all say

"we all wrong, this game is amazing"

hope, this is all I have now.

This should be nightmare.. all my the biggies fears about the game now are real...i can't take it anymore ..

negativity doesnt equal credibility

but the negative consensus seems to be crappy referees and sluggy animations

LADS, here is Adam Bhatti's response to Asim's impressions. Enjoy:

I had to pop in here just once, after reading the impressions, I'm stunned. I also know how the community works, negativity = honesty etc etc

To me, there is no issue with mine and Asims working relationship. I see WENB as an important site. All opinions need to be heard.

So I won't discount anyones impressions, but I do want to tell users one thing, which has been incredibly missed. I spent time out of work to explain and discuss these issues with Asim. I explained a) this is Windsor code, b) this is extremely early hence the 4 teams , and c) I'll get you in before Gamescom to see improvements.

Reason why I said that is because, as you've seen, impressions are varied. I do however know we have improved key things Asim himself had an issue with. I'll get him in to at least alleviate his fears.

Overall though, yes I am very disappointed in his impressions. Not that I don't agree with his issues, but just the was they've been conveyed. But, that's life

A true football 'what'? And Xavi is a completely different player to Ronaldo. Sure, Ronaldo's play is great but he cannot sit in midfield and pull the strings. Without someone doing that, would Ronaldo be able to do as much?

How quickly one's impression change the whole tune of a community. Just sim through WENB, it is drama all over again. It is dangerous to put too much weight on a sole impression. At the end of the day (borrowing Hulk Hogan favourite phrases), it still a subjective opinion.

At this point any written impression mean nothing to me, tbh the hype train for me already cool down weeks ago with so much stuff happening and quality releases. I need to see more than just screen capture and written article before passing my judgement. Maybe it wasn't too bad that they decide to push back the demo release date.
